Growing Up pt.2

(A/N: Gotta make a correction. There are 3 more people from Naruto that I'll need. After that, I can just get the dna and use that for improvements. Jugo, Hiruko and Kimimaro)

(Time skip - 6 months)

Another six months have passed. As time passed the situation between Piltover and the Lanes have gotten worse. There have been raids done by the Enforcers that cause a lot of stress among the people of the Lanes. The dark business done between the unsavory type have come to a halt and caused a loss of profit, though some smaller business still happen under the tables of the Last Drop. Many stores and stalls have been damaged by them and caused a loss of profit for the innocent civilians too. There have even been a large amount of injuries because of the Enforcers' unnecessary use of force on people who have done nothing wrong.

All the damages caused by the Enforcers would cost a lot of coin to repair and the cost of medicine for the injuries caused by them would cost even more. The people of the Lanes were already struggling and now with all of this, their lively hood was in danger. Some were even more unfortunate as their stall or business couldn't be operated, so they wouldn't be able to make an income to pay for all the new costs of living.

Besides that, Piltover had blocked travel between it and the Lanes affecting the Lanes more, as all forms of medicine and hospitals were on Piltover's side of the bridge and a lot of business required materials or items from Piltover as that was where things were imported and sold before the denizens of the Lanes bought them and resold them in the Lanes.

Due to all this, I went out of my way to give some medicine, that I had made from the medicinal plants I grew, to the people who visited the Last Drop. For awhile, the the Last Drop became like a pharmacy. It not only sold food and booze, but it also now sold basic medicine. Luckily, I could grow these easily and with my knowledge, could easily make them into useful medicine.

During these six months, I had got another five knowledge and one template. I chose the template of Kimimaro. It strengthened my body and gave me access to his abilities and experience with taijutsu and his kekkei genkai.

As for the knowledge, I chose the knowledge of the Blacklight virus from the prototype games and the Technocyte virus from the Dark Sector game for the first two. This gave me all the knowledge about viruses that give super human abilities. In order to better supplement this knowledge, I decided to get the knowledge on virology. This would give me knowledge of all viruses and bacteria and how they function. I'll now be able to better alter and manipulate the super viruses.

The last two knowledges I got were on all the martial arts from History's Strongest Disciple Kenichi and all techniques ninjas use, includes weapons, martial arts and stealth. The last one encompassed a lot of knowledge, because it wasn't limited to one universe or world. These would not only allow me to train these techniques, but would also allow me to teach others.

I would have to wait until I was older in order to practice any martial arts though, but with the use of shadow clone jutsu and my already abnormally strong body, I would be able to make up for the time missed.

During my second birthday, we had celebrated it in the green house and blocked it off from people who weren't family or friends. My mother was being her overly cheerful self and would hug me every chance she got and tried to feed me cake instead of allowing me to do it myself. I was two years old now, I didn't need her to feed me, but I also can't really go up against her. Luckily, Vander stepped in after laughing at my predicament.

"Ester, I think you should allow him to feed himself now. The boy is already two years old. Do you want to embarrass him more than you already have?"(Vander)

"He's my son and I'm his mother, so it's within my rites to be able to feed my child."(Ester)

"Vander's right, Ester. The boy may begin to resent you if you keep babying him like this. Plus, you may also stunt his growth if you make him too reliant on you."(Silco)

Yep. Silco was invited to my birthday. At this moment in time he was still friends with Vander and my mother, so he got an invite. There was a few more more people who also got invited, but I didn't know them and they don't seem like people I'll need to focus too heavily on. They most be some of the people from Vander and Silco's group. Probably using my birthday as a cover for a gathering to discus the beginning of their plans against the Enforcers.

Tension has been running a little too high and some people couldn't stand it and were planning to drive the Enforcers out of the Lanes. People have been talking about this for the last couple of weeks in the Last Drop. It doesn't seem to be the full on rebellion, at least not yet, but probably the start.

"Oh he'll be fine. You've all seen how smart he is. There's no way I could slow the amount of growth he'll go through."(Ester)

"Well, you are his mother, so it's your decision. We were just trying to give some helpful advice."(Silco)

"Enough of this talk now. We're supposed to be here for a birthday, so let's get on with the presents."(Vander)

Once that was said, they went and got the presents for me off of a table from the side. There wasn't a lot and I was fine with that as I knew the situation that everyone was going through in the Lanes due to the Enforcers as well as the already poor condition of the Lanes. Vander and my mother were better off, but Vander had to use some of his money on his and Silco's group and my mother was still paying a certain amount of coin to Vander for the place we lived in. She was also the type to help out those in need with by sending a few coins their way, so they can get by during these times.

The gift I got from my mother was a hand sewn stuffed toy. It wasn't pretty and was a patchwork of different type and colored clothes and button eyes, but the general shape was that of a lizard. I couldn't tell exactly what kind of lizard, but knew it was a lizard nonetheless.

The gift I got from Vander was something that looked like a puzzle game. Probably a child's toy, although different from the one given to that idiot council member on his birthday. This one was a lot more complex and had runes painted on it. The runes were probably the key to solving the puzzle.

"Vander, what is that?"(Ester)

"Some child's toy I found during one of the jobs we pulled off. Don't worry, it's safe. Silco messed around with it for awhile and nothing bad happened. It's just really hard to solve, so I figured it'd be the perfect gift for Lucius and would last him a long time, so he won't get bored with it."(Vander)

Silco also gave his word that it was safe to play with and my mother allowed me to keep it. I was still skeptical though, as nothing with runes on it is ever simple. I could be a tool to teach people how runes interact with one another or which combination of runes cause what effect. A learning tool for young mages.

The gift I got from Silco was a lab setup in a room in the basement of the Last Drop. Vander even allowed me to use the room without charging anything as the room wasn't being used and as a way to makeup for his gift. The room had all kinds of beakers, test tubes, culture discs and Bunsen burners. It was clean and looked to have received a good paint job for the old walls. There was even shelves full of books that contained knowledge on how to make certain medicines and potions. A couple in the back dealt with some other kind of creations I could make, but that was for later.

"I talked to a friend of mine on how smart Lucius was and told him what I was building for his birthday gift. I had asked him if I could get some of his old books he used to fill the shelves, so that Lucius could read and learn from them. Some of the books were written by himself and contains the knowledge and experience he obtained throughout the years."(Silco)

"Is there anything I need to worry about in those books, Silco?"(Ester)

"No, Ester. I swear. These books are just to help Lucius learn and since there's no schools in the Lanes, this is the best help for him. It could potentially allow him to enter the schools of Piltover and have a better life."(Silco)

Upon hearing that, my mother looked at me while I roamed the lab with eyes full of wonder and amazement. I was going over everything and figuring out how everything works and their condition. My mother relented and trusted Silco's word.

"I'll try to bring him more books and anything else I can find that's helpful to him. He already seems quite adept when it comes to herbology and making basic medicine from the plants."(Silco)

He then turned to me and called my name to get my attention. He asked if I liked the lab and told me of his plans to look for more stuff for me to work with and read, so as to help me study and improve my future prospects.

"I'd appreciate it if you could get me more books like these on the shelf as well as other books that cover other fields such as books dealing with biology and machinery. Also if you find any tools or unique machinery or gadgets."(Lucius)

"Very well. I'll let you know if I find any."(Silco)

"I'll help on that front. I can ask some of my patrons to be on the look out for stuff like that when they're 'working'."(Vander)

I thanked them for the help and for the gifts.

With the new lab, I'll now be able to make better medicine and could use it as a staging ground for my future experiments. Though, I would need to tweak the lab a little bit to better facilitate my work and to make it more secure and sterile, since I'll be working on viruses that have brought about the apocalypse on other worlds.

I've also asked my mother to buy me a few journals like the ones on the shelf for me to write in. I wanted to be able to write all the knowledge I've been obtaining down onto paper. With all the knowledge I have I could potentially start a school down here in the Lanes that would put the colleges of Piltover to shame. I would need to redeem some basic knowledge on mathematics, science and whatnot. This would also fill in some blanks I have in the knowledge I've already obtained as although I have some focused knowledge on things that interested me, the basic knowledge I have is minimalistic at best.

By filling in the gaps on knowledge I have, I could potentially be able to study and make things without the need to redeem knowledge every month and would instead be able to get items and samples that I could actually work with. With this my plans for the next few months are settled.

We then exited the lab and went back to the green house to finish eating the rest of the food that wasn't the birthday cake. The cake would be eaten last for dessert.

I had to admit that once I was able to eat solid food, while hesitant at first, I had to admit that, although strange looking, the food was delicious. Note to self, never judge another world's food by its appearance. I would add redeeming knowledge on food and cooking from other worlds into my plans as well. This would also raise the standards of the Lanes as well in the long run.

I was intending on making the Lanes, soon to be known as Zaun, self reliant. Clean up the pollution, raise living standards and repairing broke down structures. Sooner or later, we'll be equal if not better than Piltover.

(A/N: I wanted to thank everyone who were posting supportive comments when I was explaining what I was going through. It really helps. In other news, I talked to another manager at my job to try and get my job back, but will still have to wait awhile to see how it goes.)
