Chapter 1### **Chapter 1: A New Beginning**

Ethan Bellamy had always believed in logic. To him, the universe was a grand equation waiting to be solved, every variable understood through science. He had spent his life working tirelessly toward unraveling the mysteries of the human brain, consciousness, and the very fabric of existence. He had perfected his craft in neuroscience and molecular biology, and his ultimate goal was ambitious—he had designed a machine that could upload a person's consciousness into a new body, effectively achieving immortality. It was a dream that had consumed him for years.

But now, as Ethan lay on a cold stone floor, his mind racing, a feeling of deep confusion overtook him. His fingers twitched, and his heart hammered in his chest. Something was wrong. He felt—strangely alive—but also disconnected, as if his soul had been transplanted. His eyes snapped open, and he saw nothing he recognized. The sterile lab he had been working in moments before was gone, replaced by the dim light of an unfamiliar room. Ancient symbols were etched into the walls, and the air carried a strange tension that made his skin crawl.

Before he could gather his bearings, Ethan stumbled to his feet, only to be greeted by a disturbing sight in a polished mirror. The face that looked back at him was not his own—it was that of a young man, pale with long black hair, sharp eyes, and a sinister gaze. He was dressed in an unfamiliar outfit, a dark cloak adorned with symbols he couldn't decipher.

"What the hell is this?" Ethan whispered aloud. His voice sounded strange in his new throat, cold and detached.

As his mind raced to understand, memories not his own began flooding into his consciousness. They were fragmentary at first—glimpses of a dark and twisted life. He saw himself as a child, isolated and alone, training in the ways of ninjutsu. The memories were fragmented, hazy, but the name attached to them was unmistakable: Orochimaru.

Ethan's heart skipped a beat. He had read about Orochimaru in his research into various genetic anomalies and ancient myths. Orochimaru was one of the most infamous figures in the *Naruto* world—an elite ninja known for his obsession with immortality and forbidden jutsu. How had he ended up in the body of such a notorious figure?

Panic surged through him as he tried to reconcile the impossible. He was no longer Ethan Bellamy, the scientist from Earth. He was Orochimaru, or rather, his consciousness had taken root in this young body. He wasn't sure whether to be horrified or curious. The possibilities were endless, but so was the danger.

He staggered toward a table, where a scroll lay open. The handwriting on it was precise, but it was foreign to him—ninja code. His mind screamed for answers, but he had no time to indulge in confusion. He needed to assess the situation, to take control.

"Focus, Ethan," he muttered to himself, trying to calm his thoughts. "Think. You've dealt with complex systems before. This is just another puzzle."

But as he stared at the scroll, his thoughts scattered once again. The world around him felt foreign, as if he were a stranger in his own skin. The presence of Orochimaru's memories—his cold ambition, his desire for power, his thirst for immortality—pressed against his mind like a weight. For a moment, Ethan wondered if he could suppress those thoughts and take back control of his new life. The question was, would he want to?

Forcing himself to focus, Ethan began trying to sort through Orochimaru's memories. He could sense a powerful will behind them—one that sought to dominate, to transcend the limits of human existence. Orochimaru's quest for immortality was central to everything he did. The scientist in Ethan was fascinated by the possibility of unlocking the secrets of such power. However, as he delved deeper into Orochimaru's past, he couldn't help but shudder at the ruthlessness that came with it.

The more Ethan explored, the more he realized that his new existence was not going to be simple. He was not simply trapped in a new body—he had inherited Orochimaru's entire life. The memories, the ambitions, the relationships—all of it was a part of him now. And whether he liked it or not, Ethan was going to have to navigate this strange world of ninjas, chakra, and dangerous ambitions.

He pushed away the fear that threatened to overwhelm him. There was one thing he knew for sure: if he was going to survive, he had to adapt quickly. He needed to learn how to use the abilities that Orochimaru had developed over his life. He had to understand chakra—the fundamental force that governed this world—and how it could be manipulated, just as he would have used his intellect to manipulate the laws of physics back on Earth.

Ethan's first steps took him outside the stone room, into what seemed like a vast, ancient compound. The air was thick with the scent of incense, and the walls were adorned with intricate patterns and carvings. There were sounds of distant voices—people talking, training. It wasn't long before a figure approached. A young girl, dressed in ninja gear, her eyes wide with curiosity, approached him with an expression of confusion. She hesitated, eyes darting between him and the ground.

"Orochimaru-sama?" she asked, voice trembling. "Are you... feeling alright?"

The voice snapped Ethan from his thoughts. "What...?" he stammered. His heart raced again, more out of instinct than comprehension. He had no idea who this person was, but the name she had used—Orochimaru-sama—told him everything he needed to know. He had to be careful, very careful. This was someone who knew Orochimaru, someone who expected things from him.

He forced himself to assume the persona of Orochimaru, the person he now was, and tried to hide the panic in his chest. "I'm fine," he said, his voice steady but hollow. "I've just been... thinking."

The girl nodded, still uncertain, but she didn't press further. "I'll leave you to it, then." She turned away, retreating down the corridor.

Ethan exhaled slowly, staring at the spot where the girl had been. His mind was still racing. Every decision he made from here on out could have consequences. If he was to survive, he would need to learn everything about this world—and quickly. He had no idea how long he had before Orochimaru's fate unfolded or how deep he could dive into this strange new life before the forces around him began to notice something was wrong.

Ethan was no stranger to challenges, but this—this was different. He wasn't just working against time anymore. He was working against fate itself. He had been given a chance to change the world. The question was, would he use his intelligence to escape Orochimaru's dark path, or would he, too, fall into the same dangerous pursuit of power?

The thought of immortality, the idea of transcending the limitations of the human body, tugged at his mind. He could feel the temptation—the allure of it. He knew the risks. He knew the cost. But the scientist in him was already calculating, already planning. The game had changed. But in this world of ninjas and chakra, the rules were his to rewrite.

And he was going to play by his own.

Cat Burglar Nami One piece AU

Synopsis A girl from our world got reincarnated in one piece as nami. Well I am not good at writing synopsis without spoiling the story. This is my second attempt on a story on Nami. Originally I was planning to bring the OG Nami from future to the past, like I have done with Hancock. But then I realised that Nami might be intelligent, but she is not strong. Atleast compared to the other straw hats. Her main strength was her intelligence. I am talking about both physical strength and will. That's why I decided to go in the reincarnation route again. This is going to be different from my other fanfictions. I have no intention of making Nami one of the top straw hats. As you can guess from the story title, this is an one piece AU. That means a lot of thing will be different. Nami will be strong. Way stronger then canon. But not comparable to monster trio. And before you complain, let me tell you that, monster trio will be a lot stronger than the monster trio of canon as well. Now on to the points which I am going to focus in the story. Character building No system Realistic struggle of the MC (I won't make it cringy, but considering the kind of World One Piece is, there will be some realistic struggle unlike the Sigma system) R-18 (you know, Nami is Nami. I have not decided to add smut yet. But ecchi ? Definitely !) Ecchi-Comedy (this is something I am going to try for the first time. I have been experimenting with this in my Sakura fics. I will try my best to make you laugh with double meaning jokes.) Weak to strong characters OP straw hats Canon different straw hats Tragedy (A lot of tragedy is going to happen in the first part of the story. I am going to cover Nami's childhood. It will also serve as her training arc. So don't expect it to be light.) Blood and Gore I have a great story line in mind. And I am going to write it regardless of my schedules. I will try to make it better than my current favourite one piece Sigma system. I am telling this with confidence, because the story in my mind for this one, is really solid. I hope you like it. This will be available for the members of fanfiction phase1. Thank you for reading. The cover page is extremely sloppy because webnovel rejected my cover page which took me an entire hour to make. this time I didn't even left any cleavage, which should be there considering it is Nami. *sigh* if you don't like the cover page when I will remove it. ...
