As she continued to instruct him, Regis noticed the glow of his ring. Amber thought it was just due to the sunlight and ignored it, but he was different.
"I've got to go. My uncle is looking for me now," he said and left without looking back.
He walked so fast that in the blink of an eye, he was gone. However, Amber wasn't surprise at all. The system had warned her earlier already so she knew that he has an ability or two.
"That was quick," she muttered before shifting her attention to the little guy not too far from her. "Sansan, I will look around for fruits and wild vegetables. Do not go anywhere, okay? If you encounter some problem, just use this." She handed him a small whistle that she got from the system store. "Just blow on this and I'll be right back."
"Okay. Be careful."
Amber nodded and put the fishing rod back to where she got it. She scanned the surrounding area, contemplating whether to follow the river's flow downstream or upstream.
"I'll be right back, okay? Just stay here." she reminded one more time before leaving.
Inside the carriage, "Claude" changed back to his original form and sat regally. His butler notified him of his uncle's arrival using the ring as tool for communication. He didn't like this uncle of his one bit, and his arrival spells trouble for him.
Showing his unwelcoming attitude, he took his time traveling on the carriage. By the time he arrived, it had been twenty minutes since Timothy notified him.
The indifferent look in his crimson eyes made the servants shiver in fear.
Compared to them, only Timothy calmly approached him and bowed his head. "Welcome back, my Lord."
"Where is he?"
"I brought him to the parlor."
Regis didn't say anything or show any expression on his face. He just handed his coat to his butler and went to find his "dear" uncle.
Knowing his uncle's conduct, he stood outside the parlor for five seconds before opening the door.
For a vampire, hearing footsteps from a hundred meters away was normal. Five more seconds at the door as a leeway was already gracious of him.
On the couch, his uncle was sitting half naked while one of the maids was on his lap. Her jutting breast was totally exposed as he buried his face on the crook of her neck. His rock hard shaft was still inside the maid and she was dripping with cum.
As if he didn't see anything, Regis went inside and sat across them. A few minutes later, his uncle finally licked the woman's punctured neck to heal the wounds and looked up to meet Regis bored gaze.
"So, why are you here?"
Hearing the cold splashing words, the maid suddenly snapped back to reality and realized where she was.
She slowly stood up, looked around for her torn clothes and picked it up. Such activity was not new to Regis whenever his uncle visits him.
The man liked the "goods" that Regis kept in the mansion. Even when his wife was around, he would still fool around with the servants.
Only God knows the number of maids that his wife had killed for his lascivious behavior.
"Let's talk in the living room," Regis said before Uriel could answer his first question. "Don't make me wait for more than two minutes. I have other important matters to work on," he said and went out of the room. As soon as he came out, he saw Timothy standing like a statue outside the room. "Bring someone to clean the room. Make it perfectly clean. I hate the nasty smell."
Uriel smirked when he heard the sarcastic remark but didn't say anything as he put on his clothes and zipped his pants.
Regis knew that his uncle has been trying to kill him for more than a century now. Although he was his uncle, their age gap wasn't that significant.
Vampires don't age. He still look like he was in this early thirties even though he was several hundred years old. It was the same for Regis.
And their conflict started about two hundred years ago.
"To answer your first question earlier, I'm here for the same reason that I have been telling you in the past hundred years," Uriel said as he came downstairs. When he first spoke, he was still on the second floor, but in the next second he was already standing in front of him. "I will not stop until you do as I said or you kill me."
"And again, you can only obtain what you wish if you can kill me," Regis answered flatly.
This conversation had been going on for so long but none of them took a step back. Their only resolution was to kill one of them.
"To rule and to obtain what we want; we must fight to death for it. Of course, you can always take a step back," Regis expressed without a change in expression. They were raised this way. This has been engraved on his bones.
"She's dead. She can no longer hear you and see you, but I can revive her! I have been doing the expirements for so many years! I can bring her back to life! Don't you want that?!"
Regis: "I don't want a soulless puppet."
"She'll be like what she had been before death!"
Regis: "It won't work on her. The moment you take her away, she will turn to ashes."
Regis closed his eyes when countless memories came to mind. He had been suppressing them. He didn't want to recall the pain.
"This conversation is over. Whether you understand me or not, it's up to you. If you have nothing else to do, the door is open. I won't send you off."
Who do you think was the person in their conversation?
