These are what most people say about this game. But I love it for the challenge that can take hours to complete, the stories that come with each character, and the many endings it provides.

The World of the Future—the hardest game of the decade. Only one percent of a billion players manage to defeat it.

"Haah. Finally, after 20,000+ hours of game time and over a thousand playthroughs, I finally managed to no-hit run all the enemies, bosses alike." A young man huffed, took a picture, and immediately posted it on his YouTube channel.

"No-hit run playthrough. No healing throughout the playthrough. All endings." That's what I posted.

After finishing the game, I immediately opened my school classroom page. I went to the assignment section and checked the due date.

"The due date is still in 4 hours. I'll sleep first, then wake up after 2 hours of napping and do it." I set the alarm for 10:00 p.m.

My name is Kai, Kai Amber. I'm currently an 18-year-old college student. Ever since I left my home country and started living with my godmother in another country, I began enjoying playing video games.

I'm your typical person who does and submits assignments just before the due date. I do this because I love a challenge. Since I was a kid, everything was very easy for me. I could memorize everything just by seeing it once, and I could draw things perfectly just by looking at them. They call it photographic memory.

To make things harder for myself, I always give myself a handicap. For example, doing and submitting my assignments just before the due date or playing hard games that many people have not completed. Yeah, so basically, life is very uninteresting to me until my favorite game came out.

Virtual Reality: The Broken Future

Two hours later, I was woken by my alarm.

No, it sounded different.

It was the voice of an unknown person.

Why does my body hurt?

Why am I dizzy?

Why is my bed not soft?

I opened my eyes and saw a blue sky.

I looked around.

Why am I surrounded by people?

"Where am I?" I asked.

"He's still alive. Quick, when is the ambulance coming?" a woman shouted.

Suddenly, I heard a siren ringing, the sound getting louder.

"What a weird dream," I said.

I closed my eyes again, thinking it was just a dream.

The next moment, I heard a familiar voice.

Aaaahhhhhhh!

"Lilith! You fucking bitch!"

"You fucking traitors."

"There's still a way for me to get my revenge!"

"I will soon bathe in your blood and your coward allies!"

"Mark my words!"

"You all will know what true hell is."

I opened my eyes again and I was in another place.

Place?

Why is everything dark?

And why is the computer still on?

I walked towards it.

The trailer of the Broken Future game was playing.

Who turned this on?

"Well, maybe I can go on another playthrough," I thought.

You wondering why I use computer?

Well, before you put your virtual reality helmets on, you have to create your character on your computer.

I sat on the seat and relaxed.

"What build should I go with this time?"

I think I did all the possible builds already.

Hmmm. I was left in deep contemplation.

A fighter?

Done it already.

A mage?

Done it already.

A support?

Done it already.

A tank?

Done it already.

An assassin?

Done it already too.

A marksman?

Done it already.

Well, I'll go with the randomizer again.

I clicked the 'randomizer build' button.

My vision turned dark again.

When I woke up, I was greeted by a bright light.

I looked around.

I was in a park?

Confusion washed over me as I tried to make sense of my surroundings. The scent of the grass that I had forgotten, the sound of people playing, and the happy faces of people eating with their families hovered in and out of my blurry vision.

"What happened?" I mumbled, my throat dry and scratchy.

Suddenly, I felt a sharp pain in my head.

Arghhh!

I clutched my head.

Some people with concern tried to rush to me.

"Hey Kid, are you okay?" a lady asked, worried.

She then cast a calming ability, making me relaxed.

"What was that? Did that old lady use magic?" I shook my head.

Impossible.

"Are you okay now?" she asked one last time before leaving.

As I was confused by everything, a sudden flood of memories started flowing into my head.

In a short time, an insane amount of memories came to me.

I witnessed the early childhood of someone, all the way to adulthood.

After a lot of memories came to me, it finally finished.

"What are these memories?"

I finally came to the realization.

I was in the game that I loved.

I stood there, taking deep breaths, trying to make sense of the chaotic jumble of thoughts and images in my mind. The memories weren't mine, yet they felt intensely familiar. Faces, places—they were all there, vividly etched into my consciousness.

"Am I... inside the game?" I whispered to myself, the realization sending a shiver down my spine.

When the game was released, hardcore players around the world, whose hobby was to play undefeatable games, got on to grind to conquer it.

I myself am one of them. Mind you, the game was released when I was still 13 years old.

Many people continued to play for 365 days a year, without sleeping or eating.

Hayst. My only regret in this game is that because of lack of sleep and food, I only grew to about five-foot-three.

The game stayed strong for three years, when people started realizing that it was impossible to defeat.

The mid-story boss was practically invincible.

I almost gave up on this boss too. It was just the middle of the story in the game, and it was already the hardest boss in all game history.

What would happen in the later story? That's what most people questioned about the game.

But then, after nonstop challenging the boss for months, I beat it. I was the first person to beat that boss.

Taking advantage of being the first person to beat the game, I made a YouTube channel and created a guide on how to beat it.

How to dodge that. How to dodge that skill. What build to use.

Due to milking these guide tutorials, I earned lots of money. By the time I was 18, I had already gained 70 million dollars.

Hayst. My godmother's birthday is next month. I was about to surprise her by giving her 50 million dollars.

Maybe she will find the check in my drawer. I hope so.

The story of the game goes like this.

The game took place on an evolved Earth.

Along the evolution of Earth.

Gates and dungeons began popping up around the world. From these mysterious portals emerged different races and monsters, each with their unique traits and abilities.

Elves, known for their beauty and strong mana affinity.

Dwarves, known for their small height and advanced technological skills.

Giants, known for their immense size and formidable strength.

Dragons, known for their pride and the title of the strongest race.

Demons, known for their destruction and being the number one enemy of all races.

Mermaids, known for their beauty and strong water capabilities.

And many more races followed.

The Earth became as large as Jupiter.

Humans, who originally the natives of Earth, began to awaken to mana and superhuman powers. Mana became the energy source that powered magic. Humans with the ability to use magic drew upon mana to cast spells, enchant items, or perform other supernatural actions.

Along with it, humans received a system.

Yes, only humans received a system.

It was given by the Earth who is now known as Joro. The guardian, and the mother of humans.

With the sudden influx of many races coming to Earth, human territories shrank. Due to humans being new to having mana, they were terrorized by different races.

As years went by, humans finally started getting stronger.

Little by little, humans started gaining their lost territories and became a force to be feared.

After 500 years of wars against other races, a peace treaty was established. The world was divided into 9 domain:

The Domain of Dragons.

The Domain of Elves.

The Domain of Giants.

The domain of humans.

The domain of Mermaids.

The Domain of Dwarves.

The domain of Vampires.

The domain of Phoenix.

The domain of demons.

The World of the Future game lets you choose what character you want. Each character has a different ending.

Well, the only race you can choose is human.

Of course, we are biased towards our race.

Humans. Perfect being. Right?

Humans. Can adapt to any situation. Right?

That's the only reason.

The famous ending that most people choose features a human protagonist becoming the ruler and making the world a better place. But for me, I always customized my character or randomized it, which made the ending unpredictable.
