Epilogue

Both of them were psychopathic serial killers. Contaminated dead bodies had been discovered in their houses.

I had to be admitted to a hospital. The trauma of the events had affected me gravely.

It was decided I won't be sent to prison as the law deemed it as an 'accidental murder'. I had my suspicions they were not sending me due to my mental condition and public opinion.

It got quite lonely after a while.

I had a steady recovery and joined a new company for a job.

Everything was back to normal. Just like I wanted it to be.

I had let go of the past.

The only lingering thing was regret and occasional nightmares.

All I had to do was act like nothing happened.

And at some point, it started fading out of my life.

People no more recognized me on the streets after seeing me on T.V.

Nobody asked me if I had 'recovered from the chaos' anymore.

No doctors visiting me anymore.

It was just me, and myself again.

And after a long time, I sat near a window and sipped on hot tea.

I finally felt at peace.
