Chapter 025

"Go Pinsir!"

The first Pokemon that the Samurai sent was a Pinsir. It was the same Pokemon that he had used in the anime, so Arthur wasn't much surprised.

He had already battled quite a few Pinsirs so far and wasn't scared of them.

"Mankk!!"

Arthur sent Mankey as his first Pokemon who seemed quite excited as he was finally able to take part in a battle. Earlier, Charmander had told him about his battle with the queen and Mankey was quite jealous that he wasn't able to take part in it.

Mankey was a Pokemon that loved to battle from the start and he also wanted to have a go with the queen, but that hadn't happened and he felt a little frustrated about it.

That's why he was craving for a battle for sometime now and now, he was finally getting one.

His excitement level was sky high and he eyed the Pinsir with a healthy fighting spirit.

"Your Mankey looks quite strong, but he won't be able to break Pinsir's defense. Quite a few had tried and no one was successful." Samurai said with a hint of bluff in his voice.

"We will see about that." Arthur replied while scanning Pinsir's status.

One of his advantages was that he can know the opponent's Pokemon level, attitude and moves, and prepare his attacks according to it with the help of his cheat.

When he checked Pinsir's status, he found out that Pinsir wasn't something that Mankey couldn't handle.

He only has an orange aptitude and his level was the same as Mankey. All of his moves were brutal attacks and it was easy to guess that Samurai have an all attack battle mindset when it comes to his Pinsir.

And like Arthur had thought, Samurai ordered Pinsir to go on the offensive from the start.

"Pinsir, use slash and don't give Mankey a chance to counterattack!"

Samurai commanded and Pinsir rushed towards Mankey with a sharp cry. His lethal claws shone with a bright light and killing intent gathered in his eyes.

"Use work up and dodge the attack."

Arthur swiftly commanded and hearing his command, Mankey first used work up and increased his attack and defense by one stage.

After that, he easily dodged the attack that was directed at his face with precision.

Seeing this, Samurai's eyes widened a little.

'Ohhh! He didn't get bubbled up by that direct attack and commanded like he's a veteran. Trainers from Pallet town are indeed very different from the other novices.'

Samurai thought as he praised Arthur inwardly.

He had fought many novices before and most of them would just get jumbled up in how to properly respond. It was a common sight as you don't have time in a battle and it takes a long time to get used to it.

But Arthur was different from the usual novices.

He didn't hesitate to usher out a command and his eyes were calm, like he had already expected Pinsir to act like this. Moreover, Mankey followed his command without any doubts which was a sign of their trust and bond.

Realising this, Samurai became more serious.

He was sure that Arthur was even more powerful than Gary and Leaf and he needed to be more careful.

With that thought in his head, he again shouted, "Pinsir, keep attacking with slash. Mankey can't dodge always!"

Continuing with his all attack strategy, Pinsir kept using slash and his claws kept trying to dig into Mankey's skin, but Arthur didn't order any counterattack and kept telling him to use work up.

"Dodge again and use work up!"

He shouted and Mankey jumped to the side, using his agile legs. Then, a mysterious energy again covered up his body, increasing both his attack and defense.

With this, Mankey's attack and defense stats have gone up by three stages.

'This should be enough, I guess.'

Arthur thought in his mind and decided that it was time to stop dodging.

"Can't you do anything other than dodge? It seems like your Mankey is scared to take even one hit from my Pinsir."

From the other end, Samurai snickered, trying to make Arthur angry, but he just smirked in response.

"You are right. It's time to stop dodging and end the battle." Arthur said and looked towards Mankey, "Mankey, use karate chop!"

"Mankk!!"

Mankey cried out excitedly after hearing that command. He was quite frustrated by just dodging attacks as it was quite opposite to his nature.

He felt like he was running away instead of facing his opponent head on. That's why, when Arthur told him to use karate chop, he decided to not hold back.

Both of his arms shined as he concentrated fighting energy in them. Then, he jumped towards Pinsir.

"Pinsir, block it!"

Samurai commanded, but Mankey's attack was too powerful for the Pinsir to block it. His attack was even able to shake off the earth with the reinforcement of work up.

Khak!

A loud sound rang out as Mankey's karate chop and Pinsir's slash attack collided, but it was easy to see who was more powerful.

There was no way for Pinsir to handle Mankey's attack and he was barely able to hold his ground and even that was only for a short while.

Arthur commanded Mankey to aim for Pinsir's chest and this time, he was not able to block the attack.

With a bang, he was thrown back, smashing face first into the ground. The momentum behind the throw was enough to dig a trench through the dirt.

"Pinsir, get up!" Samurai shouted in desperation, but Arthur was not going to allow the Pinsir to stand up again.

"Use Karate chop repeatedly on his shell!"

With that command, Mankey jumped through the air and started smashing down on the unfortunate bug.

Pinsir tried to stop the barrage of attacks, but they were too quick and his body was in too much pain. He felt like his body would be broken soon as Mankey rained down karate chops on him.

It was soon all over for the tough shelled bug and Samurai can only frown at the messed up state his Pinsir was in.
