Dawn and Logan assisted the crowd from the west side of the arena along with Shauntal and Iris.
"Oh, ho? Look who lost against Grimsley?"
"Quit it. You haven't won as well."
"Haven't, monsieur." Iris joked.
"Left! Right! Left! Slowly but surely!" Shauntal's childish spirit was there even in desperate times. She helped the children and their parents out of the arena until there path was blocked by a grunt.
"Leave the people! They're ours!"
He was stabbed at the neck with a sharp object. The doer was another grunt from Team Plasma. More of those who supported N came by and interrupted Shauntal.
"Forgive us, Shauntal."
"There is always room for mercy,"
The grunts were in bliss as they hugged the children, their Pokemon, and their parents.
"Come on, folks! We've gotta get em out of here!"
As the grunts who regretted looked at what was ahead, they were unexpectedly blocked by the followers of Ghetsis.
"Traitors!" mocked the grunts.
"We may be, but we do what is right!"
The grunts barreled to one another, clashing in full stamina.
On the black bridge, was a female grunt killing those who believed in N. She was a fierce fighter who stabbed with her long black stick. She boasted a few of her karate skills. The woman drew deep breaths and sensed the presence of someone behind her.
She unbridled a punch but hesitated midway through. Her eyes widened, sparked with fear as she dropped her stick.
"William?" The woman hissed.
"Mary,"
"Come," she grabbed his hand. "We have to protect Ghetsis!"
"No,"
She pushed John away. "You believe N? He... He betrayed us! Come with me,"
"I'm sorry, Mary. I believe the otherwise. Do not follow his ideals, follow the truth. Take my hand and come."
Brick by brick, her walls came tumbling down. She just broke down. The sobs punched through, ripping through her muscles, bones, and guts. She pressed her forehead against the grimy palm of her hand and began to let her heart yank in and out of her chest. It pulled back in like a yo yo. Over and over. In and out. She was hollow.
"Damn you," swore Mary as she pulled William closer to hug him. "I cannot change your decision, neither can you do the same to me." From there, she pushed off William from the bridge and murmured, "I am sorry, but I am loyal to Ghetsis, dear brother."
