LOG 19: Second Encounter

It was once more late in the evening and our minds were wondering where that Oliver went again. He's usually gone every night which made us wonder if in fact he's trying to meet someone else during this kind of time. That man is always full of secrets and I couldn't understand why he has so many. That reminds me, I need to have my orange juice again.

In the sleeping streets of Castelia City, Emma was still wide awake. Since work was finally finished, she decided this would be the perfect opportunity to roam around the streets even if most of the shops were closed. At least the lights which were still left open brought a spark of joy. After all, this is her first time in such metropolis.

Under the shine of the moon, she roamed the streets which were primarily empty. Nothing to be seen in sight except for some businessmen and businesswomen heading straight back from work.

The streets were filled with quietude. Not a single child in sight. This gave way for her introvert self to roam free for once. Unexpectedly, a man leaped from a rooftop and down the ground. This broadened his smile even more.

"H-hey! Wait!" said Emma before the man ran off again.

The man looked at her smile and there, he widened his eyes. His cheeks flourished in hues of pink.

"You must be Oliver? Am I correct?" Emma queried.

He nodded.

"I knew you would come! So? Team Rocket must be on to something, are they? It's night, and you wouldn't be here for no reason at all."

He waved his head sideways. Well, the only reason he went out according to his conscience was because he was bored.

"You don't talk too much, don't you?" Emma chuckled.

He nodded again.

"I can understand that." she said. "Hey? Since you're here, and I'm here, why don't we go out for some ice cream? That's if, the shop is still opened."

He gulped his saliva.

"Or, I could take you to the police station if you want. It's up to you actually, but for now? Since you helped me two times in a row, consider this as a return!" Emma smiled again.

Bit by bit, Oliver nodded and decided to go with Emma. It was by luck the shop was about to close, not exactly really closed. The owner was fixing her bags when suddenly the two arrived to disturb her.

Castelia Cones, the best ice cream in the whole region! You know what? I should try some of these stuff one day! Ah! I forgot! I should've went here instead of going to the park.

"Excuse me! Two Castelia Cones please! I'll pay for now. So next time we meet again, we're even steven and I'll capture you next time." Emma said exuberantly.

"Sigh, late customers. Fine, I'll give the two of you some, next time, don't come during the closing schedule." said the lady.

"Hehe, we won't."

At a bench in Castelia City's central plaza is where the two of them stayed at. It was quiet, no Pokemon nor human were present anymore. Emma however, was noisy, saying a ton of random stuff to Oliver while he gazed at her eyes, completely frozen like a statue.

Then came a moment they were disrupted when suddenly a man wearing a lab's coat appeared. He was running with a brief case. Once he stumbled by accident, a lot of blue prints were scattered. There was even one that looked like a floating ship. The two showed their sympathy and helped the scientist pick up his things.

"Thank you for your help." said the scientist.

"No problem!"

"Hehe, hopefully the two of you didn't see anything there. Millennial people like you are always curious."

"Me? No! Perhaps this quiet man over here is." Hearing her words, Oliver was stunned.

"Is he your-"

Emma quickly interfered. "What no! We're just catching up after what happened! You know, making things even steven?"

"Oh, I see. Well then, I should leave the two of you to discuss whatever you're talking about in private. My name is Colress, and thank you for help."

"No prob, Mr!" exuberantly saluted by Emma.

There, the strange scientist parted from them until he was not seen in sight.

"What a strange guy, don't you think?"

Oliver nodded again.

"That ship project I saw. It looks peculiar. Anyway, I think we've talked enough for today. This is where we part ways, Oliver. Next time I see you, I want to challenge you to a Pokemon battle! If I win, you're coming with me to prison!"

Oliver glared and agreed to deal. There, they shook each other's hand and left peacefully and silently. Both returned to where they belong. The rest of us were asleep when Oliver came by the door, tip-toeing to his bedroom. Meanwhile, Emma did the same and entered her room through a nearby emergency staircase. This was their second encounter, and it looks like, things are getting quite interesting.
