Vermilion Gym

Zeph immediately passed out from the Lick of the Gengar.

Now Gengar didn't know what it should do.

After trying to wake up Zeph, and failing at it, he finally made an important decision.

Gengar took the box and tried to pass through the wall of the ship.

Gengar was able to pass through easily but the box dropped in the floor.

But there was no problem, the hole connecting the cockpit and the deck of the ship was still open.

Gengar simply floated up and came out of the ship.

Vidal was waiting outside the ship when a box came flying towards him.

Gengar appeared and handed the box to Vidal, the black ball was inside the box.

Vidal looked at Gengar blankly and smiled.

"You did great job. Now hide for some times until I call you," Vidal said.

Gengar disappeared again.

After some time, Bill and Alakazam arrived. Bill landed on the back of Pidgeot and handed a Black ball to him.

"What do you want to do with the ball?"

"I want to research as well, you don't have to worry about me using it for bad purposes."

Bill nodded, "Than how are we going to free Zapdos from them."

"Not we. Only me."

"Alakazam use telekinesis on me and lift me up." Vidal continued, "Bill you return and inform other researchers about the situation."

"But I have already informed everyone."

"Then, You should leave as we don't know how many are there in the ship and how strong they are. I can't let a Pokemani.. Pokegenius to get hurt," Vidal said while floating in the sky.

After some more convincing, Bill finally left.

"Gengar."

"You take this box back exactly where it was, don't make mistake. And return immediately." Vidal put the empty ball in the box and handed to Gengar.

Vidal was sure, the shadow won't be letting the Zapdos out anytime soon.

Gengar did the job successfully, and returned.

Zapdos was saved and nobody was hurt, there was no need for battle at all.

Vidal returned to cottage.

"That guy is always acting boss in front of me." Vega mumbled and came towards the cockpit.

Vega saw a dark shadow placing the black box on the table and disappearing.

Instead of trying to stop the shadow, Vega waited on the door and when the shadow left a pleasing smile appeared on his face.

"You are back already. What happened to Zapdos?" Bill has just arrived and he saw Vidal and Alakazam landing in front of cottage.

"I just freed him and came back."

"Are you sure?"

"You can go back and check if you want, or you can ask the team shadow directly for confirmation."

Bill was speechless.

"Now what."

"What else? I am continuing my journey. You will drop me in the same place where I was picked." Vidal entered the cottage.

Vidal was very tired, after all there was Zapdos sitting in his pocket.

And he wasn't going to tell Bill, 'Look I got Zapdos, it's completely safe in my hand.'

In the middle of the forest a very serious conversation was going between two very serious people and Pokemon.

"How come you got caught so easily?"

"I thought you are very strong."

"If you come with me, they will never bother you."

"I can hide you from all those bad people."

"Ahk… Ahk."

"The bad people may come after you again."

"Ahk… Ahk."

"You can leave any time you want."

"Ahk… Ahk."

"You can travel all around the place without any worry."

"Ahk… Ahk."

"You don't have to fight in any battles."

"Ahk… Ahk."

"I will let you eat good food every day."

There was silent.

Vidal plucked a ball from his belt and put forward.

Zapdos touched the ball with its head

Vidal smiled, 'Zapdos choose me.'

But immediately he called Zapdos out along with all of his other Pokemon.

Starmie and Alakazam were already in fighting position; they haven't forgotten the last battle.

"Everyone this is our new friend, Zapdos. Everyone say hello."

"Gengar," "Arrrrrr," Gengar and Growlithe were both cheerful as always, but Starmie and Alakazam were looking at Vidal.

Vidal nodded to relieve them.

First thing, food was served to every one of them.

With the addition of Zapdos, Starmie was finally able to go all out.

"Well I said you don't have to battle. This isn't battle. You are just going to be training partner of Starmie." Zapdos finally got ready to fight.

Starmie being water type is weak against electric type, so this training will help it to be resistance against electric moves.

But after one hour of training, Vidal ran away from the forest.

The destruction was too much due to the moves used by Starmie and Zapdos.

Full power Hydro pump and surf along with intense electric discharge of Zapdos, the forest was in ruins.

Vermilion city,

Huge amount of tourists, the place being near the sea was a great attraction for those who wanted to travel around the sea.

Vermilion city gym leader, Lt. Surge who was a soldier was his opponent this time.

"So how many Pokemon do you want to compete with," Vidal asked.

"Let's use three. You can switch to any Pokemon during the battle. And who ever have a Pokemon standing till last wins." Surge said the rules.

Vidal nodded.

"Let's go Growlithe." Vidal wanted to see how much it has progress, he was confident Growlithe can handle this gym easily.

"Then I will use Voltorb first. I want to see how strong you are."

"Voltorb give them a good thundershock."

"Growlithe, start using your Agility; wait for the opportunity to attack."

Growlithe started running dodging all the thunder shock. Vidal smiled satisfied with the speed of Growlithe.

But Surge was shocked, it was impossible to follow the movements of Growlithe.

"Voltorb, just try to close the distance."

"Now, use self-destruct."

"Growlithe, Use protect."

Boom.

Voltorb passed out, but Growlithe was still standing without any injury.

"Voltorb return. Go Electrode."

The match was pretty much the same, when you out-speed the opponent, you will pretty much win the match.

But Growlithe was not just fast, "Growlithe use Fire fang."

The fang of Growlithe appeared in front of Electrode filled with fire.

Then finally the ace of Surge, Raichu was out.

But there was no excitement in Surge face, the match ended with a single Flamethrower.

"Are you really just a beginner trainer?" Surge asked with uncertainty.

"Yes." With a plain answer Vidal left the Gym with the thunder badge.

Vidal was very satisfied with Growlithe performance.

"Growlithe, come here. So, I have got this for you." Vidal placed the fire stone in front of the Growlithe.

Without hesitation Growlithe evolved into Arcanine.

After it was done, Vidal donated his bike to the Pokemon fan club and walked towards the Vermilion city harbor.

After waiting for half an hour, the ship finally appeared, he was travelling this time specifically to Safari Zone.

Vidal was thinking of getting a nice flying type Pokemon, he don't want to ride Zapdos just yet, the friendship level is too low.

This explains five bags behind him filled with food; 'The way to heart is through the stomach' is always right.
