A small encounter

Vidal was planning to directly visit Saffron city and maybe able to catch-up with Ash but at the last moment he got a message from Professor Oak.

So he is taking the northern route to meet a Person named Bill.

Bill is the guy responsible for creating Pokemon Storage System which allows Pokemon to store and transfer as computer data.

This reason made Vidal excited to at least meet such a guy.

[Route 24]

Vidal stopped again to take a rest and let the Pokemon out.

This time catching Pokemon was like walk in the Park.

Starmie and Alakazam used Psychic to catch all the different Pokemon around the forest in route 24.

Bunch of Pokemons were floating in front of him and he just have to throw Pokeball and catch them.

But the mood of Alakazam was depressed; Starmie has defeated him in Psychic abilities which were supposed to be his major strength.

[Route 25]

Vidal stopped for the night, and the major reason was due to the Psyducks of the area.

This one particular Psyduck was staring at a Kakuna very intensely, so he waited to see how the show will move forward, while throwing Pokeballs at the floating Pokemon.

Vidal let the Psyduck let it do its things and went to sleep.

Next morning,

He found that the Psyduck was still staring at the Kakuna, "This will be a good collection for Professor." Vidal caught the Psyduck.

And finally Vidal reached the sea cottage of the Bill which was on the edge of the hill, with a light house on its side.

"Vidal, I have been waiting for you." Bill waved his hand.

Maybe Professor Oak informed him, but he still felt something was wrong seeing the over enthusiasm of Bill.

"Nice to meet you Bill, I heard you have some task for me."

"Let's talk inside."

Going through the huge door with Pokemon carvings, Bill offered some juice and food.

Vidal called his Pokemon out, and Bill immediately started to stare at them.

Bill was also called Pokemaniac, so first he wasn't worried about his behavior but his next question arose his suspicion on something was wrong.

"How do you train your Pokemon?"

Is this just an incident?

"They look stronger than the Pokemon I have seen."

Something is definitely wrong?

Did someone saw me at the Cerulean cave? A doubt arise in his heart.

"Looking at your Pokemon, they should be trained differently. Right?"

"What do you know?" Vidal asked directly.

"Know. What are you talking about?" Bill tried to act normal.

"You definitely cannot hide things with that face Bill," Vidal looked at Starmie, "Starmie let's give Bill a little bit of flying experience."

Starmie Gem glowed and Bill started floating.

"Wait. What are you doing?"

"Just tell me the truth. How do you know about it?" Vidal threw a blind question and it hit the target.

"It was Professor Oak. He sent me a video. Can you bring me down now?"

"Starmie looks like he doesn't like flying."

"Then let's see the video." Vidal said letting Bill on the ground.

On the large screen on the cottage, the video was played of him while he was training in the Cerulean cave.

Vidal face palmed, "How many people know about this?"

"Most of the Pokemon researcher knows about it."

Vidal took along breath, "Any other important thing you have to add."

"Most of the Pokemon researchers from all the regions know about it."

Vidal remained silent for a long time.

...

Vidal sorted out things with Bill and told not to reveal to another person from now on.

Now, it was time to get back to business again.

"Do you have any fire stones?" there was no benefit thinking over what's already done.

And he has no problem with the revelations; as long as it is among the researchers.

"Yes, there are some I have gathered for research purpose. I can give you few." Bill said without hesitation.

"Oh. Can you call Professor and tell him I have arrived here?"

Bill nodded and both moved towards the video phone.

Vidal was the first one to sit.

"Oh Vidal you have reached there." Professor Oak said.

"Professor, do you know a video of mine has been posted among researchers. Thinking about the consequences I am having depression."

Professor Oak stopped what he was going to tell.

"Maybe I need help from other researchers as well to take care of my depression."

"Definitely, I will make sure they will help you as well. But you need to help them as well." Professor Oak barely managed to finish his words.

"That's natural. When I finish your task, I will move to other region as well."

"But your task seems to be taking toll on my body, I don't know whether my body will be able to withstand that long," Vidal paused for a moment, "you know with the type of food I have been eating, it's hard."

Professor Oak and Bill both mouth and eyes twitched, Vidal was too shameless.

"Don't worry. I will make sure you stay healthy." Bill said from the side.

The call ended.

Was he taking advantage of them?

No.

Is this blackmailing?

No.

It's equivalent exchange.

Even the researcher knows gathering all the Pokemon from the entire region is not an easy job.

He found out there was nothing to do in the Bill's cottage; there was no task... just the Pokemaniac was trying to see his Pokemons.

After pocketing some firestone and quite an amount of sum, Vidal left the cottage happily.

"Alakazam use calm mind, don't lose focus." Vidal roared.

"Starmie, just dodge and wait a little a bit."

Zi..Zi..zi

A Pokemon with thunder dancing all around its body released an electric discharge towards Starmie.

After seeing the psychic from both of his Pokemons wasn't effective he had to change his tactics.

Starmie with its speed boosted by rapid spin was running all around the place.

Another thunder stuck the ground, after missing dozen s of its attack Zapdos was already angry.

"Alakazam be ready to attack, Starmie return back."

"Alakazam release your future sight."

Alakazam body glowed and five balls of energy exited his body and disappeared in the sky.

"Starmie give a full power hydro pump to stall some time for future sight to appear."

A vortex formed with the diameter of about 8 ft. and a huge blast of water was released.

Boom!

When the water collided with the electric body of Zapdos, steam rises around its body.

And the five balls of energy from future sight finally descended from sky. He was completely sure there was no chance to miss the future sight.

Five blasts came from the sky and hit the body of the Zapdos.

When the smoke and dust was finally subsided, "As expected," Vidal murmured.

The Zapdos was just pushed a little bit, there doesn't seem to be any damage inflicted to it.

"There is no need to continue anymore," Vidal shook his head and took his steps back.

"But it won't be this easy next time."

After seeing no intension of fighting from the opponent, Zapdos finally took the sky and disappeared.

"Legendary are Legendary after all. But that doesn't mean they cannot be defeated."

Vidal sat down and opened his bag took out bunch of berries for both of the Pokemon.

He was most satisfied with the speed of Starmie. And this doesn't seem to be the limit it can reach, and there was move like rapid spin further boosting its movability.

Vidal didn't take the path back to Cerulean city but, passed through the forest to reach the Lavender town and on the way encountered Zapdos sleeping on the middle of the forest.

It can be a good luck or fate, no one knows.

This fight helped him to mark a vague difference between legendary and his own Pokemons, and it was understandable.

Although the path to defeating a legendary seems long, it wasn't unreachable.

After coming out of the forest, Vidal decided to spend his night at the Power plant which was in front of him.
