Jin City

The weather in late autumn is a mix of warm and cold. When night falls, a drizzle sprinkles intermittently, engulfing every corner of Jin City with its invasive chill.

Sining Holiday Resort, renowned throughout Jin City, was equally cold. The guests had retreated to their rooms early, leaving behind a peaceful quietness.

Suddenly, the rhythmic sound of hurried footsteps echoed, followed by a "splash."

Someone had jumped into the outdoor swimming pool of the hotel.

Under the dim yellowish light filtering through the trees, one could see that the person who jumped in was a young woman.

Her half-unbuttoned collar revealed a delicate pink skin, her clear eyes covered in a layer of haziness, ambiguously enchanting.

"Ah!"

The icy cold water made the woman scream out involuntarily.

But shortly after screaming, the woman bit her lip, swallowing her cry and barely managing to stand upright against the pool wall. She gasped for air.

Being late autumn, the water temperature was extremely low, and coupled with it being nighttime, the woman began to shiver immediately upon entering.

The faint sound of footsteps seemed to come from behind. Startled, the woman quickly submerged her head in the water, her hands clenched tightly into fists.

The cold pool water was not conducive to holding her breath, and less than half a minute later, the woman broke the surface again.

The shock of the chilly water sobered her misty eyes considerably. After a deep intake of air, she cautiously lifted her head, only to shiver abruptly.

A man had appeared beside the pool.

The man was tall and elegant, with handsome features, dressed in a black trench coat, holding a black umbrella in his hand. He stood by the pool, looking at her from a superior position with a cold expression.

"Xia Yiwan, long time no see."

Xia Yiwan shuddered violently, her delicate features pale as snow. She stared blankly at the man in front of her: "You..."

Is heaven trying to destroy her?

While praying for a savior, she ended up encountering Si Mo, the person she detested most.

"Quick! She can't have run far!"

"Search around the pool!"

"Damn it, she dares to hurt me, wait until I catch her, I must kill her!"

From the forest in the distance, a wave of clamor echoed.

Xia Yiwan's already pale face drained of all color.

"Looking for you?" Si Mo asked, staring at her calmly. His tone was assertive.

Xia Yiwan flat out ignored the man's words. She quickly scanned the translucent pool before trying to pull herself up to the edge of the pool.

Chen Jinhuan had drugged her and offered her to a fat old man. She had used an ashtray to hit him and had run away.

The voice just now clearly belonged to that old man. She must get away from this place as quickly as possible.

But she had only gotten a couple of steps away when, "splash!"

The cold water splashed as Xia Yiwan landed back in the pool.

Her fear was spreading uncontrollably.

The clamor from the distance was getting closer. Bright lights were shining over.

"They're here." The man looking coldly at her, slightly lifting his thin lips, his tone relaxed, showed no intent of offering any help.

The icy pool water contrasting with the heat inside her body made Xia Yiwan feel as if her organs were aching.

Yet, Si Mo remained standing on the bank, watching her coldly.

Xia Yiwan glanced about in desperation.

The guest rooms of Sining Holiday Resort were each independent villas, with considerable distance between them.

Without seeking help from Si Mo, the idea of her escaping on her own was simply a daydream.
