Name

"My name is Yu Ming."

"Yu Ming..." William repeated the name of his good friend.

"What a nice name."

Yu Ming nodded in agreement, with a hint of shyness.

"Yes, my parents once told me my name has a special meaning, but regrettably I wasn't paying attention; I was still a child after all."

"Special meaning? What do you mean?" His previous remark had piqued William's interest and curiosity once more.

"In simpler terms, my name is supposed to mean something, but I can't figure out what exactly."

"I see. How about doing that together? In the future, surely!"

"In the future? Why not now? We have plenty of time, and we can't exactly train or do much except rest."

"Well, to celebrate my knowledge of your name, of course!" William suggested.

"What? A celebration for something trivial? Nobody does that." Yu Ming objected.

"Aw, come on! After all, you're my best friend! Wait a minute, aren't I the one living here? Why are you telling me what's normal?" William felt awkward when someone who should be less familiar with the place tried to explain the norms to him, as he expected to be the one with greater knowledge about it.

Sigh. "Fine, let's go."

As they attempted to go out of the room they were in, Yu Ming realised they were both moving with difficulty.

"Wait a minute. How do we do that? We're injured, William. Injured."

William froze and stood there for a few seconds, processing what he just heard.

"Oh yeah."

"Aren't you supposed to be the older one here? Why am I the one thinking?"

William got offended by that statement, but he could do nothing as it was not far from the truth.

"I guess that's reasonable since I remembered your name, but you didn't remember mine."

"Hey, come on, man. Don't diss me like that."

"'After all, you're my best friend', right?" Yu Ming purposely made a terrible voice impression of his friend.

He smirked, while William could barely hold his laughter.

They both burst out laughing shortly afterwards.
