Chapter 8: Qualified

While walking down the tunnel I saw her again.. Linari. Her beautiful face made me all red and flustered whenever I see her, I hurried over to the end of the tunnel in order to see my parents.. But as I turn the corner I saw hooded figures talking with my mom..

"Mom? Who are these people?" I uttered curiously in the midst of their conversation.

"Good news son... You're going to the Academy, these people are scouts for them." Mom said with a smile on her face.

"That was an absolutely brilliant display of skill out there! My names Karilo. A scout from the Academy of Gilmora.. We are here to invite you to our trials." One of the hooded figure said to me while reaching his hand for a handshake.

"Hello.. Mr Karilo, I appreciate the invite!" I said smiling relishing the fact that I've been invited to I assume a prestigious academy filled with elites.

"So what are these trials? is it a series of duels?" mom asked curiously to Mr. Karilo talking with me

"Half of the test is a duel, and the other a test in knowledge." Mr. Karilo replied to my mom

"Good to know.. And when are these tests going to start?" Said mom asking another question.

"In a weeks time at the academy grounds." Mr. Karilo replying to my mom

"I see... It was nice meeting you Mr. Karilo but we have a tournament to finish here." My dad said getting me ready for the next fight.

"I understand. I'll see everyone in a weeks time I suppose?" Mr. Karilo said to us

"Yes we will be there. Thank you Mr. Karilo, It was nice meeting you" My Dad said shaking his hand and waving him off as he left.

"THE WINNER OF THIS ROUND IS LINARI SHIMOTSUKI WITH A LIGHTNING SPEED SLASH." The announcer shouting the result of the fight

As I heard that I realize what kind of monster she is.. A Lighning speed slash... she's gonna be a hard opponent if she reaches to the final.

She elegantly walks out of the tunnel with a smile on her face and her completely unfazed Armor that looks to be no Hits have landed on her.. She's a tough one to beat I can assure that.

"CALLING YOUR ATTENTION OUR SEMI FINALS WILL START NOW STARTING WITH OUR LEFT CORNER... HE IS THE ONE WHO TOPPLED THE GIANT OF THE FJORDS LAST ROUND WITH HIS BODY ALONE! NAMINO KRALESI"

He walked with pride and dignity to the center of the arena, showing that he has done this many times.

"AND NOW FOR THE RIGHT CORNER HE'S A FIGHTER FROM KELGATH , A WARRIOR ADEPT AT USING HIS FIST, A MAN CAPABLE OF USING 2 ELEMENTS AT ONCE, GREY JEAN!!!"

I walked onto the arena like it was just another day for me. Completely unfazed by the immense pressure from the crowd and instead loving each and every single of it

The referee comes in the arena to say the rules and to have a fair fight. "Do you understand the rules that I mentioned?"Said the Referee who was waiting for the fighters to nod.

"Yes I do!" Both of us replying to the referee.

"Salute eachother and get ready for the fight!" The referee backin away from them as they salute eachother.

*DING*

*DING*

*DING*

As the bell sounded I got into a stance reminiscent of Puerto Rican style boxing that is free form and hands down, Encapsuling the basics of boxing "Hit and don't get hit" I use my fire and air magic to give myself a boost in speed and agility to defeat my opponent.

Namino on the other hand was rushing towards me with Intent to kill, He was strong and fast, he threw the first blow with a massive overhand punch with his right hand that could send anybody to the Hospital if it came into contact with anyone.

*Swish*

I used my speed and technique I slipped inside to the left and gave him a quick uppercut a small bang being heard from the punch Stunning him for a few seconds. I step back and create distance from my enemy, when I stopped I did some ring antics and what I used to do back in the real world.

"IS THIS IT? THIS IS THE BEST BRAWLER YOU CAN OFFER?" I exclaimed in front if the crowd pointing at the stunned man.

Namino was brought out of his stunned state,"HOW DARE YOU MOCK ME YOU BRAT!" He states as he dashes and prepares a straight punch with his right directly at my face intending to finish the fight. My body is facing to the side when he attacked so I weave my body back and delivered a hook with my left hand to his chin stunning him for a few more seconds. Just like last time I stepped back to create distance

"THIS IS EXTRAORDINARY THE SPEED AND TECHNIQUE THIS FIGHTER IS DISPLAYING IS ABSOLUTELY OUT OF THIS WORLD!" Shouted the caster of the stadium with clear surprise and excitement. One of the crowd members talking with his friend said "This kid is something else I tell ya! his speed rivals that of A class Adventurers. Furthermore that kid has great control over 2 elements."

"Why am I being humiliated by this kid. He is no ordinary kid, I've fought many A Class adventurers and none are this fast and exhibit great technique. It's as if he's been fighting his whole life" Namino says to himself in disbelief trying to recover from the stun.

"I AM THE BEST BRAWLER IN THIS DAMN CONTINENT DO NOT EVER FORGET THAT!" I Shouted at the crowd while taunting the stunned Namino.

"WATCH YOUR DAMN MOUTH YOU KID!" Namino shouts as he dashes going for another straight this time with his left with all the speed and power he can produce.

"i think it's about time I end this match I made my point clear." I mutter to myself readying to counter punch. As the fist is about to hit I slip to the outside on his right and use my Left hand straight to counter him straight to the face.

[Hands Low style: Explosive Counter]

*BANG*

The crowd heard and saw an explosion that resembled 10 Barrels of Dynamite exploding all in one spot. At the speed that Namino was going withouth him knowing it he doubled the damage that my counter was going to do to him. As the smoke cleared the crowd saw Namino knocked out standing with my fist still on the face. As I removed my fist from his face his unconscious body fell to the ground flat.

"AND NAMINO IS DOWN! WHAT A BEAUTIFUL DISPLAY OF FIGHTING FROM GREY JEAN! ABSOLUTELY PHENOMENAL!" The caster shouted as the crowd was erupting in Applause.

I raise my right hand up and walk out of the arena to rest for the next fight as I walk through the tunnel I saw Linari preparing for the semi final.

"Hey Grey Jean! That was a very nice fight you showed us I loved the showmanship." She said to me while waiting for the fight to start.

"O-Oh thank you! Good luck with your next fight Ms. Linari" I said with a red face blushing from the fact she talked to me.

"You are very interesting. Meet me after all this is over at the tavern nearby." She said to me while my face was full red now.

"I-I'll see you later thank you for the offer." I said as I was running with my face all red from the exchange.

Linari chuckles and heads off to the Arena to begin the semi finals.
