Demon Sheriff

After they heard Alex's signal to start, they all waited for Van Augur to shoot all the guards outside of the gates and facility. Van Augur prepared his rifles and positioned himself where he could see all the guards so he could take them down easier which was almost a kilometer away. "Let's make this quick, shall we?" said Van Augur as he started shooting the guards quickly. He really proved that his marksmanship was one of the best in the world as he was hitting headshot after headshot at the unsuspecting Marines. The crew were truly amazed at Van Augur's marksmanship and at their captain's ability to recruit this type of talent in the crew. After a few minutes, all of the guards outside have been taken out by Van Augur and the people inside didn't even know it. "Alright, he has given us an opening let's make it count. Make sure we make this a quick mission and no one knows we were here." Alex said as he and Robin went to the entrance and cleared a path for Law and Franco to free all of the slaves and prisoners. They were also tasked by the captain to look for someone named Lafitte as their captain wanted to recruit him to the crew.

As they went into the entrance, Robin quickly sprouted out her hands to take out all the Marines while Alex was using his assassination techniques to sneak around and look for the leader of the facility and gather files to expose the dark side of the Marines. While Alex and Robin were clearing away the Marines, Law and Franco were freeing the slaves and prisoners and telling them to cause as much chaos as possible. Among all of these cells, there was a cell that was closed off with the door having 'Danger' signs and was giving off an aura that screamed . Law and Franco looked at each other and were pushing each other to open the door because they both didn't want to open the door. In the end, they still had to open the door to the cell since this was the person that their captain wanted to recruit. When they opened the door, they didn't expect to see a very tall and slim man who was sitting like a noble and was smiling. They expected to see a man in a straightjacket and a mask because they saw the danger signs on the door. "Oh hello, who might you gentlemen be?" asked Lafitte in a polite tone as Law and Franco were surprised that this seemingly dangerous individual did not seem so dangerous after all. 'Never judge a book by its cover, I guess.' thought the pair as Franco answered Lafitte "I am Franco and this is Law. It is nice to meet you Lafitte. We are part of the Asura Pirates and our captain wants to meet you." Lafitte just smiled and said "Alright then, lead the way Franco." as he followed the pair back to the entrance where they would all meet up.

On the Black Pearl, there were six people who were talking, well more like five since the other person was just silent and didn't want to talk to the others. "Did you really escape from a slave auction?!" asked a surprised Katarina while Cierra had a change in expression but it wasn't noticed by anyone. "Well, I didn't really escape but my little brother saved me before I got sold to the nobles." said Petronia as she remembered the day that she was safe from being sold as a slave. "I've been wondering, you say that your little brother is the captain, but why don't you both look the same?" asked Dante amd Petronia answered "It was actually when he saved me from the auction that he adopted me. He told me that I would be his older sister since I didn't have a family anymore." Dante and Katarina were sad and Cierra was thinking that Petronia and she had an almost same history.

Back to the trio as they went out of the building, Alex was busy talking with the leader of the facility. "Who is behind all of this? The Marines? The World Government? The Celestial Dragons?" asked Alex as he was pissed at people being treated like this even if they were criminals. "I won't tell you, you son of a b****! Might as well kill me and be done with it!" said the man as he was laughing like a psycho and Alex knew that this guy would not talk so he just shot him in the head. After killing the dude, Alex gathered all the information from the place and burned the whole building to the ground as he went outside.

Alex met up with the group and asked Robin "Robin do you know anyone who would publish a story about Marines torturing people?" Robin thought for a moment and remembered someone who would publish any story that he deemed 'interesting' and told Alex "Well, I have heard of a guys named Morgans who runs the World Economy News Paper and think this stpry is interesting enough for him to publish it. I just don't know where to find him but I might have connections in the Underworld who do." Alex just nodded and said "Alright, we're done here. Let's go back to the ship." and left the facility with the group and Lafitte but as they were about to leave, one of the prisoners went up to them and said while bowing "Thank you so much for freeing us from that place! We would never forget your kindness! May we know our benefactors' name?" Alex just smiled and helped him up as he said "No need for thanks sir, we were just doing what we thought was right. And my name is Alex, captain of the Asura Pirates, and it wasn't just me who saved you all. It was us five who did it so thank them too." the man just stood up and said again "Thank you for saving all of us even if you were pirates, you all still saved us!" after that they all went into the island and left Alex's group. Alex and his crew went back to the ship with their new recruit and introduced him to the crew. "Guys, welcome our new recruit 'Demon Sheriff' Lafitte and Lafitte welcome to the crew." Lafitte was surprised as he thought he was going to get killed by them out of a grudge against him because of his violent ruling in his village. But he didn't expect to be recruited by them and asked "Why? Why did you recruit me? Didn't you all hear what I did in the past?" Alex answered him "Who cares about what you did in the past. What matters is what you plan to do now and in the future. You see, I think people should be given a second chance and that they can change as time goes by. So, I am giving you a second chance to prove that you are not just your past and you are a new person that is changed by his mistakes and won't repeat them again. So Lafitte, are you going to accept this second chance or are you going to be stuck in the past sulking over what you did?" Lafitte was surprised and shocked at what Alex said as he thought that there were still people who saw the good in a person even if they were at the lowest point in their lives. After being silent for a few moments Lafitte finally spoke as he bowed "I will pledge my life and loyalty to you captain!" Alex smiled and said "No need to bow Lafitte, we are all family here and we all have each other's backs." Lafitte was happy that someone accepted him for who he was as he promised that he would never betray his captain who pulled him out of the darkest moment in his life.
