A TRAP

When Terrence walked around, he noticed that the whole building was already equipped with the needed equipment.

It was as if the grocery was being spoon-fed to him by the system.

All he needed to do now was just buy some stocks for the whole grocery store and acquire permits to start the operation. Another thing was he needed to find some workers to manage the entire grocery store.

After Terrence went around, he found out that the second floor of the building was like an apartment kind of office.

On the left side of the second floor, there was a mini kitchen and a mini dining room. There was a lounge area where a big sofa and a television stand could be seen.

On its side was a shared bathroom. On the other side, there were four empty rooms. Each of them has various sizes.

The only thing Terrence could say was that it was massive.

However, the biggest problem that he faced was the needed money to fill this whole start.

Currently, he only has around $60,000 as his balance. At his estimate, he would need at least $80,000 to $120,000 to buy all the things he needed.

So, what does that mean?

It was time for Terrence to splurge some money.

Terrence made sure that the door was locked before coming out. He double-checked everything.

After he was done, he went outside and went around. He decided to buy a few things for himself.

'How about buying new games? I never tried that for a while.' Terrence thought about it.

Terrence went inside a massive mall. It was a luxury mall where you would only see high-end shops and restaurants.

He walked around and visited some stores to buy something. His goal for today was to reach the $130,000 mark and level up to 10 if that would be possible

He was able to buy some bags for his sister and mother. Of course, he didn't forget about his father, buying an expensive watch and a bag for him.

Terrence spent a few hours at the mall. He kept buying from one store to another until he reached his goal.

When he was done, Terrence opened up his stats to see if he did what he intended to do.

When Terrence saw that he was done for the day, he looked for the mall's exit. He got lost a few times, but with the guards' help, he found an exit leading to the backside.

Terrence sighed as he looked around. The exit that he got was connected to an unfamiliar street. He looked for his phone to see if he could just book a car, but there was no signal.

'This mall is expensive and all, but it can't even have a proper signal.' Terrence tilted his head to the side.

Terrence started to walk. He looked around and just based on the direction of where to go by trusting his instincts.

When Terrence saw a guy who looked like a local, he went closer to him.

"Hi, do you know the way towards the main street?" Terrence asked. He stepped backwards when the guy blew out the smoke coming from his cigar.

The man was slightly taller than Terrence. He stared at Terrence for a couple of seconds before nodding. "Yeah." He agreed.

He walked towards the middle of the street. "Just go straight for 2 streets, then turn left. After that, you will just walk until you see a right turn. You will turn there and just walk straight. That should lead you to the main road." The man answered before putting the cigar back into his mouth once again.

"Thanks." Terrence smiled slightly even though he didn't fully understand it. He followed what the man told him. While walking, Terrence received a message from Tiana.

[Mom: Terrence, it's already lunchtime. Don't forget the meeting at Abigail's school.]

Reading the message from his mother, Terrence stopped walking in the middle of the street. He was planning to go around more, but since it was already past 12, he decided that it was time to go back already.

[Terrence: Okay, Mom. Let's meet at Abigail's school. I'll go directly there.]

He replied. He decided to just meet with his family in the school directly since he feared that they might be late if they would still wait for him

At least in this way, they wouldn't need to keep asking when he would arrive.

[Mom: Okay. Terrence, DON'T be late.]

Terrence chuckled. He could already hear the threatening voice of her mother. It was as if Tiana's voice were embedded in his brain.

Terrence sighed as he hid the phone in his pocket. That was the only time he realized that he was in an alleyway, away from the crowds.

Terrence continued to walk, recalling the direction that the man had told him.

He was in the middle of walking when Terrence heard footsteps coming from the side.

He looked around to see if someone was following him, but there was none.

That's when he heard another footsteps coming from his left side.

Terrence shrugged his shoulders and sighed. He stayed in his position and readied himself. He looked at all the bags in his hands before looking up.

"You! Give us all your money and bags!" A man shouted in a deep voice. He appeared out of nowhere at Terrence's backside.

Terrence looked back to face the man where the voice came from. In there, he saw a huge man who was as thrice as his size. He has bulky arms and a big fat stomach. There was a bandage on his right forehead.

Terrence's forehead creased. "And why would I?" he asked.

The big man in front of him chuckled. "Let's just see if you still have that courage after a minute." He laughed out loud.

That's when Terrence heard a lot of footsteps coming from his left and right side. He took a step back and saw that another 6 men appeared. All of them have similar body builds to each other.

Terrence's brow furrowed when he realized that the person he asked for directions earlier belonged to one of them.

It seems like this was a trap all along.

When the person who talked to Terrence earlier noticed how Terrence became silent, his laugh became louder. He scoffed and clapped his hands.

"What now, young man? Are you scared already?"
