Nepenthe (Book 1 in the Mania duology) (BL)

'Drug of Forgetfulness' "And why are you so convinced, Anton? Could it be that you want to be that person yourself?" Everyone wants to just breathe and forget. To forget they exist and forget this world and this life exists. Even for a few minutes. And the only way to do that is to have a distraction. However, with how addictive distractions from life problems can be, can't those distractions be referred to as drugs? This story is about two men, who would never have met if they had a say in it. One who was the very definition of wealth and class from looks to mannerisms and the other, the very definition of rebellion and disaster from talk to walk.

EXTRA 2

Anton woke up to the other side of bed empty. He patted it. It was cold. Xander must have left quite a while ago. He noticed a familiar black ring on his ring finger and inspected it, turning his hand every which way with a fond smile.

He sat up, wincing in pain, about to get off the bed when his eyes caught a paper on the bedside table with Xander's writing on it. It read:

'Anton,

I left to handle everything. Don't move around, just go back to bed. I'll be back soon. Sleep some more. I'll buy some food on my way back. I'm not running away, so don't worry that pretty head of yours about that either. It's not possible for me to anyways. I'd only ever come back.

Xander.'

Anton smiled softly, reading the letter before placing it back on the table, and settling back in bed to sleep, as he waited for his lover to come back.

Yes, he really was Xander's Nepenthe and Xander was his.
