Chapter 106 : Back To The Village

Tsunade slowly blinked her eyes open, wincing at the pounding headache from her earlier battle with Mahoraga. She sat up, rubbing her temple. The last thing she remembered was almost getting impaled by that monster's sword.

Groaning, she looked around to see Shika, Jiraiya, Shizune, and even Naruto standing nearby, waiting for her to wake up.

"You brat," she all but shouted after seeing Shika there, getting to her feet. "What was that? Some kind of monster? I should've crushed it!"

Shika stood calmly, arms crossed. "Terms are terms, Lady Tsunade. We agreed. Now that you have lost you have to come back to the village."

"The fight was supposed to be between you and me. Not that monster..." Tsunade said with equal heat in her tone. Even now she felt getting her bones getting crushed under that monster.

"And that was my summon, even official tests like Chunin exams allow summons and consider them as a part of a person's strength. It was completely Valid, you lost."

"Yeah as if, what kind of summon was that? you are taking me for a fool ?"

"If you don't believe then I can summon him again, see for yourself if you don't believe it's a summon." Shika put his hands in a familiar stand which immediately gave Jiraiya, Shizune and more than anyone, Tsunade a mini heart attack.

Tsunade shot him a deadly glare, clearly not happy. "Okay okay, I remember the stupid terms, kid. But there's no way I'm going back to be the Hokage. I already said that's not happening!"

Shizune looked nervous but relieved to see Tsunade awake, and Shika putting his hands down, which was very similar to a hovering finger over a Nuke's button.

"Lady Tsunade, you promised—"

Tsunade waved her off. "I promised to go back to the village, not to sit in that Hokage chair! I want nothing to do with it. I'm a medic, not a politician!" She then pointed at Shika. "I'm only going back because I lost to your... whatever that was."

Jiraiya, standing beside Shika, couldn't help but laugh. "Come on, Tsunade, you'd make a great Hokage. You can't avoid it forever. I mean, look at you. You've still got that fire, even after getting knocked out!"

Tsunade threw him a half-hearted glare. "Shut it, Jiraiya. You're lucky I don't punch you straight through the floor for dragging me into this mess!"

'Yeah, more like because you are having performance anxiety after trying to punch Daddy Raga...' Shika didn't say it out loud but his face alone made Tsunade suspect that the kid was thinking no good about her.

Shika stayed firm. "We don't need you to agree to be Hokage. My mission was to bring you back to the village and that's it. Just come back to the village and see those historic fossils. That's all." Shika said, making both Jiraiya and Naruto deadpan seeing how he only completed the part of the mission which was in the job description.

Both Tsunade and Shizune didn't get the Fossils reference.

"He's talking about the elders..." Jiraiya slowly said to clear their doubts making both of them to chuckle.

Tsunade folded her arms and grumbled. "Get ready Shizune, we are going back.." Tsunade said with a sigh but hearing this Shizune sure did light up like a candle.

"Phew..." Jiraiya seeing this let out a long sigh of relief but then this attention went back to Shika. The boy was not getting more and more mysterious to him.

He of course talked with the boy after the fight, the information he got from the boy wasn't much. That boy was too stubborn for his own good.

But whatever it was, for the time being, Jiraiya believed Shika to not suspect him.

After bringing Tsunade and Shizune back to the village with Jiraiya and Naruto, Shika didn't stick around for long. As soon as they crossed into the village, he excused himself, leaving the others to handle the formalities.

"Where are you going brat, come with us, you are not getting out of it this easily..." Tsunade roar.

"I will be at the hospital if you want me, though I am 90% sure you won't so please forget I exist while we are inside the village," Shika said before leaving making Tsunade grumble though she wondered why the hospital.

"Hey wait, I am coming as well Shika..." Naruto too ran off.

The reason why both wanted to come to the hospital was because Sasuke was admitted there.

Naruto came becuase he was worried about Sasuke but being a Tsundere in this regard, he won't admit it. And Shika came becuase he further planned to manipulate that poor kid.

The hospital had been quieter than usual, the aftermath of the attack on Konoha still lingering. When Shika arrived at Sasuke's room, he found him resting.

He wasn't sure whether Itachi used Tskiyomi on him this time or not but seeing he was there in the hospital in the first place he believed he did.

After all the fights with Itachi that happened 2 months ago, it's completely possible for Sasuke to wake up on his own at this time. After all, Itachi won't do any permanent damage to his dear little brother, the fucking childhood trauma which lead him to be a psychopath... but hey childhood trauma is not much of a concern in this world when living itself is not guaranteed.

Just not that high up in the Priority list...

Sasuke looked frustrated, likely from being bedridden for so long.

"You looking peachy, did you finally lose that V card or something."

Sasuke didn't get mean what that meant but he grumbled nonetheless.

"Tell me everything you know." Sasuke all but growled, now he didn't doubt what Shika suspected, becuase Itachi's presence in the village was exactly like how Shika predicted.

"Get better before... let's talk later." Shika didn't want to talk about this right now. But Sasuke had other plans.

The boy stood up and went to grab Shika, though he hardly were able to stand properly.

"Sigh, you are troublesome. I told you to not attack him but you won't listen. If you can't think logically then it's more of a reason not to tell you anything. Grow up Uchiha, you need more than just muscles to accomplish that vendetta you have against your brother." Shika spat and left, leaving Sasuke alone there. Sasuke didn't talk at all, all this time. Maybe becuase he knew what Shika said was correct. He was acting like an idiot all this time. He needs to get stronger, but he also needs to be smart when times demand it.

From there, Shika decided to head to training ground 9. Guy's team always had a special energy about them, and checking in on them felt like a good way to unwind after everything that had happened. However, there was a special reason why he was going there.

As he approached the training ground, he could hear Lee's excited shouts and Neji's calm but focused voice, instructing Tenten in sparring.

He only looked at Lee for a second before a smile spread across his face before turning his head to a familiar girl getting special training from Guy himself.
