Chapter 6 War Part 2

- Front Lines -

Scenes like this were currently common throughout the battlefield. Explosions going off Shinobi being blown to bits and Uzumaki cutting down the survivors.

The Uzumaki clan had already cut down enemy numbers to 1/3rd of what they were. This war was one that was truly gruesome but this did not mean it was without sacrifice. To Achieve these numbers they lost around half of their own forces with currently around 3-4,000 Uzumaki left but this loss is nothing compared to the 25,000 dead on the enemy side.

None felt more pity for the loss of so many clan members than the clan head Ashina.

"sigh so many brethren" Ashina bit his lip till it bled. He had led this clan for over 40 years since even before the establishment of Konoha and in all his time he had never seen so many Uzumaki deaths not even in the two previous world wars.

"Something wrong Lord Ashina? aren't we winning?"

"No, we are indeed winning it's just that it's hard to see so much death. Especially at one's own home." Ashina was clearly distraught about the situation but even he knew that the other villages left them no choice.

"Yes this is a great tragedy to the clan but we will overcome this Father-in-law." Asahi was also bothered by the losses but he was in a better mood due to the numbers they have already killed.

"Clan Head! Our sensors say the Kages are on their way here including a Jinchuriki!" Said an extremely nervous clansman

"Did they say which Jinchuriki?" Asahi chose to ask this since it really is important to know which tailed beast they should expect. It's not exactly a secret that there is a strength difference between each one.

"Yes sir! It's believed to be the 7th Tailed Jinchuriki Kenji"

"Kenji huh isn't he the one that made those great achievements during the 2nd war? If so I can see why they made him the Jinchuriki."

"Father-in-law the masks are ready." said Asahi with determination in his eyes

"Hm good no one uses them unless I say to now shall we go meet our guests"

*Swoosh Swoosh*

It didn't take them long to reach the Kage since the Kage were also heading in their direction so both sides ended up meeting in the middle.

Seeing the leaders of both sides arrive all the shinobi immediately backed off and went behind

"Well well if it isn't the UzushioKage Lord Ashina. From what I see you Uzumaki have been having quite a bit of fun with my men! Mind if we join?" Raikage said with an arrogant grin

While Raikage was talking Onoki had already begun flying ready for battle. The same was currently happening with Kenji he was getting in a stance and was talking to his tailed beast.

"Fellow Kage I beseech you as the clan head of the Uzumaki it's not too late to turn back" Ashina was still mad about the invasion but he knew the consequences of killing Kage. Their deaths would only cause more death and destruction all of which would be focused on his village.

"This can be avoided if you surrender now and hand over your knowledge. Do this and we will spare your clan." Spoke Onoki who wanted the Uzumaki techniques even more after seeing the devastation they left

Handing over one's techniques is the same as handing over your own identity. Onoki basically told them to give up who they were. Even Ashina was angered when he heard this let it be known that he is a calm man that always chooses to use violence as the last option but at this moment it became the only option in his mind.

*Adamantine Chains!*

Quickly chains popped out of the ground aiming for Onoki and successfully grabbed him by the foot slamming him down on the ground.

Onoki wasn't one to take it lying down either! As he was slammed on the ground he also sent off his own jutsu toward the Uzumaki

*Particle Style: Atomic Dismantling Jutsu!*

Everyone dodged as fast as they could but sadly one of the Uzumaki was unlucky and was atomized by the fearsome jutsu. Not even a cry was heard as he disappeared

"HAHA, they got you good Onoki!"

*Lightning-style Chakra Mode!*

"Don't let him use that technique! Quickly surround him with chains"

*Adamantine Chains!*

Five Uzumaki members surrounded the Raikage with chains to block off his exit points and tried to close in on him.

Onoki saw this and wasn't going to let it happen.

*Particle Style: Atomic Dismantling Jutsu!*

Sending in a beam he was able to vaporize a hole in the chains allowing the Raikage to burst out and start attacking Uzumaki with his Hell Stab!

*Boom Boom*

Other Uzumaki weren't fairing any better under the onslaught of enemy forces. Many had to resort to detonation and traps to not get overwhelmed.

Others even formed barriers to block off enemy ninjas with Fuinjutsu

Ashina seeing this knew in his heart that they really might be left with no choice but to use the Death Reaper Seal.

"Press harder men!"

"ARGHH!" Screamed out a man that had just been ripped in half by Kenji

"Watch out he's released his tailed beast!"

Listening to the scream everyone turned and saw Kenji covered in red chakra with currently 4 tails already out

*Adamantine Chains!*

using a tailed beast might usually be impressive but using it in front of the greatest Fuinjutsu masters in the current shinobi world is just foolish.

Kenji was quickly wrapped in chains. He tried shooting a tailed beast bomb at the ones holding him but they already knew what dangers that technique held

"Wrap them around his mouth!"

Now Kenji was completely held down but it didn't last long before Onoki sent another beam and broke through his chains releasing him

"We're losing too many! Father-in-law we need to use the shinigami or else we'll all be killed here! Asahi knew Ashina's worry's when it came to killing Kage but right now it was either us or them.

Ashina saw the look in Asahis eyes and turned back to the battlefield knowing his son in laws words spoke true.

Ashina could only grimace at the choice he was being forced to make but it is true that something must be done or else he won't even get the chance to regret it!

"Do it!"

quickly many elders stepped forward and put on shinigami masks.

*Reaper Death Seal!*

Raikage and Tsuchikage felt goosebumps crawl all over them and thanks to their years of experience immediately evacuated the area Tsuchikage flew further into the sky and Raikage utilizing his lightning mode put distance between himself and the Uzumaki

Sadly Kenji wasn't quick enough, in his moment of distraction caused by his instincts he ended up getting caught once more by chains that forcibly held him down

Both Kages were terrified when they saw what appeared

"Is that a Death God!"

A large phantom wearing a white haori and purple skin with a malicious grin

The shinigami rushed at Kenji and ripped his soul out of his body along with the 7 tails!

Stunning all enemy shinobi before they disappeared

slowly one of the elders collapsed and began to cough blood

Using this technique on a Jinchuriki proved to be too much even for an Uzumaki. The elder would still live but would definitely need rest for the foreseeable future

Seeing a Kage-level ally die so quickly stunned both Kages

in this moment of silence, they turned to one another and seemed to come to an unspoken agreement before turning back toward the Uzumaki.

The Elders all stepped forward wearing their masks prepared for a second confrontation.

Feeling the tense atmosphere Onoki chose to speak up before things got out of hand "Ashina we of the stone will be taking our leave as I can no longer see any profit in this war"

After Onoki spoke other leaders of small villages decided to agree as the situation was no long amicable and no long gave them any benefits if anything they lost much more by coming here

Raikage also agreed even if he may seem hot-headed on the outside he was still a Kage and was as sneaky as they came. He had realized long before this battle that the war had lost its worth and even more so now that a Kage class shinobi fell.

if his village lost more shinobi or even worse him then the land of lightning would become a target

Ashina seeing them getting ready to leave decided he should also speak up to stop his enemies from leaving on such bad terms as things won't end well if they leave empty handed

"Fellow Kage before you go, the Uzumaki also realize why you began this war. Whether it was for greed or knowledge we know we also hold some responsibility for only being amicable to Konoha which proved to be useless as they didn't help us in this battle." Pausing for a moment to think over what should be offered he faced them once more with a resolute expression

"So we of the Uzumaki have decided to begin selling seals and offering our services to other villages."

hearing this the Kage knew Ashina was trying to show them some face, if they returned empty-handed they would be berated by their Daimyo and clan elders which would further strain the relationship between villages

So both sides simply nodded before continuing out of Uzushiogakure

While Ashina could have demanded operations for the war it would've only worsened relations. Which would've placed Uzushio in a harder place now that Konoha has become unreliable forcing them only to rely on themselves.

Ashina silently watched them head back to the boat he could only sigh hoping this second Shinobi war ends soon.
