Chapter 101: Ken's Tantrums

"Grandpa, So you finally have time to visit your grandson. Hmph!" Ken snorted as he saw Hiruzen walk up in front of him with an amiable smile.

"Ken, You have grown up now and should not act like a kid anymore even if you are still a kid. You should know by now what responsibilities being a Hokage has. I can't always spend time with you." Hiruzen chided Ken who ignored Hiruzen and went back to training.

"Oh, I can see that you have improved your Kenjutsu," Hiruzen said but was again ignored by Ken. Hiruzen felt an arrow hit his heart as he saw his cute little grandson ignore him.

"How about we both spar so that I can make up for the time that I have not spent with you?" As Hiruzen said that Ken had a wide grin on his face.

He was hoping for some money or a jutsu or some gift from Hiruzen as a consolation gift but a battle with him would also help him a lot. Of course, he had no illusion that he could beat him. Heck, he was pretty sure that he would not be able to put a scratch on him.

In fact, he could somehow tell that Hiruzen had gotten stronger. There was no indicator to it. But Ken could tell that there was something different about his grandpa.

He has spent his childhood playing on his grandpa's lap so there was no way that he would notice the change in his grandpa. One of the indicators was that his grandpa also started sleeping less and has been more active.

'Grandpa is surely hiding something from me. Why is he feeling much stronger than before? This should not be possible. There is no way that he could have grown stronger. If anything, he should be getting weaker with the increase in his age. Well, It's good if he is stronger than before and from his canon self. It would help him fight Orochimaru when his stupid and pervert student wants him dead.' Ken thought while he wondered how, why, and when did his grandpa get a power-up.

Most of all he wondered what powerup did his grandpa learn. Then maybe he could coerce him to make him learn the same thing he had trained in.

"Fine, Let's spar. But don't think that I would forgive you so easily. You should give me at least an A rank jutsu if not an S rank jutsu." Ken haughtily said as he geared up for the spar.

'Yeah like A rank and S rank jutsus grow on trees. If the others heard how I give my grandson such strong jutsus without him showing any merit then they would rightly grill me for babysitting him and coddling him so much. As for my fellow Sarutobi Classmen, they might exile me from the clan for being so unfair to them and not giving them any A rank or S rank jutsu like I give my grandson,' Hiruzen thought wryly as he thought of something to reward his grandson.

"If your existing skills are good enough and progress with your Ninjutsu is good then I would let you start learning wind and water style jutsus. So that you can get started training ice release. Of course, since we don't have any jutsus scrolls for ice release, You would have to start learning Ice release jutsus, the old-fashioned way." Hiruzen said in his teaching tone.

Ken got excited after hearing the fact that he was finally going to start learning Ice release but he got confused about how he was going to learn an ice release jutsu with no jutsu scrolls.

"What do you mean by the old-fashioned way?" Ken asked

"How do you think the first jutsus were created? How did the first kekkei genkai users first create the jutsus for their respective kekkei genkais? They copied the jutsus of general chakra natures before applying it to the kekkei genkai chakra natures. For example, the lava release molten rocks jutsus was created on the basis of fire style phoenix flower jutsu."

"You would first have to learn how to mix both water-style and wind-style chakras together in equal ratios. Since you have already trained in the different forms of Lava release, you have experience in doing it and would pick up with it easily. The only thing that you would have to do is to train with both water chakra and wind chakra to build up control over them. Then I would help you create ice-release jutsus from the existing jutsus." Hiruzen explained

'Hmm, is there any jutsus similar to Haku's ice mirror jutsu so that I can recreate it? I have so many ice-release jutsus in mind. I can't wait to get started on them. But training in them would mean that I would have to push training lightning release for later.' Ken thought as an idea struck him.

"Grandpa, can I make a request? I promise if you accept it then I will never ever trouble you again." Ken asked with his cutest look possible.

"What is it?" Hiruzen asked curious

"First promise me that you would accept my request."

Hiruzen was pretty scared when he heard that question. He did not want to promise him anything. But he was too weak for his grandson's pouts.

"If it's nothing too substantial and ridiculous, I might consider it. And I won't promise you anything before you tell me what you want."

"When I start learning lightning release then can you assign Kakashi Hatake as my teacher?" Ken asked knowing there would be no better lightning release user in Konoha after a few more years.

Hiruzen gave it a thought and then nodded.

"But remember, you have promised me that you would never trouble me again. That means that I should receive no complaints from your teammates, Shikuro, Dessert Shop owners...."
