"I wanted to leave the city so you won't see me ever again, and so we won't have to deal with whatever could happen if Andrew learn the truth about our past together" Adrian tries to convince me of his good intentions, while he takes a few steps towards me to finally close the gap between our bodies.

Part of me wants to believe him, I really want to convince my inner self that he doesn't mean any harm to me anymore. But I guess I'm finally immune to his lies.
