Chapter 40

After that hunt, they took a break for half an hour before going back to hunting. During this time, they had already hunted another Saltasaurus and a few packs of Raptors, where he gave all the orbs to Smooka and kept the Saltasaurus' orb.

In total, he had 3 Saltasaurus' mostly indigo orbs and 7 alpha Raptors' mostly violet orbs. They also got plenty of Saltasaurus' meat and hide. He could now use a method he learned to harden it and use it later for tents, or armor or soften it and use it for normal outfits, a hell of a tough one at that.

Having many items at the same time, they divided them between each other where each carried a share of it, of course, Smooka carrying half of it on his own, he even seemed proud of it.

On their way back, Fares identified a few herbs and mushrooms that he thought would taste great with the meat. The sun was about to set when they finally reached the foot of the mountain. Fares gave a piece of Saltasaurus' pelt to Smooka as a protective measure, since he still did not want to step foot onto the mountain.

It was harder to carry Smooka's half of the loot up the mountain, luckily it was not that big of a distance. As they finally arrived, they were panting slightly, a good thing their strength and stamina rose a little during the last week.

"We are home!" They said in unison before blushing and turning away from each other.

The first thing met upon entering the house was a figure sitting in the dark with a sad expression on her face.

Sob~ Sob~

The figure was sobbing in a barely heard voice, that if they were normal humans they would not have heard it.

Thud~

Zena threw her baggage and approached the figure hastily. It was Mona, she was sitting alone in the dark crying for some reason, it had to be something big.

When Mona heard the loud thud, she lifted her head up to see Zena's worried face and Fares' who was on the verge of anger for some reason. She quickly started rubbing her tears with her palm and turned around with a "humph" facing the other side.

"Mona, are you okay? Why are you crying? Did someone hurt you?" Zena asked in a worried tone.

"Who's crying? You're crying. Humph." Mona said with a croaky voice from weeping so much.

Zena was out of words, what is this girl playing at this time?

Fares looked at their faces and sighed, they were hopeless at communication. He approached Mona and patted her head with a smile, saying, "Mona, I got you lots of meat, you can eat till your heart is content. I also made new recipes, you want to try it?"

Mona's ears perked up at the mention of food, and her attention had been immediately attracted to the concept of new meals.

Fares took out a few ingredients and said, "See? You could eat whatever you want to, but first, you have to l tell me why were you crying?"

Mona was at a crossroads, on whether she should tell them or not. However, like a demon, Fares took out even more meat, and she could not resist anymore.

She told them everything that had happened. Apparently, the kids she was playing with told her they did not want to play with her anymore because their parents thought that she was beneath them and that she was just playing with them, so she could eat their food.

After hearing that, Mona ran back crying herself to sleep hoping her sister would come the next morning, but she did not. Mona thought that she was abandoned, nobody liked her anymore.

Hearing what she had to say, Zena started tearing up and along with Fares, they hugged Mona tightly.

Fares was the first to break the silence, and said, "Listen, Mona, what they said was just excuses. Humans have the innate trait of wanting to appear superior to one another. But you, you don't need that, because you already are."

"Really?" She asked with a pair of big round eyes.

"Of course, how about we do this next…" Fares said as he went on explaining his plan.

________

Not too long after, the trio left the house with bags over their shoulders and went to the center of the village.

Throwing their baggage on the ground, it opened up, revealing tonnes of meat sprinkled with herbs and mushrooms.

Fares grabbed a piece of meat first and lights up a fire using one hand and raised the meat using energy on his other hand. He then proceeded to cook it like he usually does.

After a while, the aroma wafted throughout the surroundings and Fares used energy to make air currents flow around him, moving the addicting smell further away.

"What is that smell?"

"So heavenly. Could it be that the gods are giving us a heavenly cuisine?"

"Why would anyone give you a heavenly cuisine?"

"Hey, the smell is coming from the center of the village, let us go over and see what was going on."

The smell attracted the attention of the villagers, and they stopped whatever it is they were doing and followed the smell towards the center of the village.

When they arrived, they were dumbfounded to find three people sitting over there, one was cooking wasting his energy in an untraditional way, while two were behind him eating with satisfied looks over their faces.

The villagers gulped at the sight of the meat with meat juices dripping out of it, as it turned around from side to side.

"See? I knew it! It was god's cuisine." The person said still hung up on that.

"Ow! Why did you hit me?"

"I was making sure it was not a dream."

The crowd chattered among themselves as Fares cooked a piece of meat after the other and gave them to Zena and Mona, who were eating rather happily without a care for the people gathering around them.

"Mona! What are you doing here? You can not just eat someone else's food just because they were being nice." Some young girl among the crowd squeezed herself out and said in a rude tone.

"Yeah, that's right. Who are you people to eat a heavenly cuisine while we hunters don't." The crowd started berating them with greed flashing across their eyes.

Mona hid behind her sister, while Zena looked at the crowd angrily.

"SHUT UP, ALL OF YOU!" Suddenly, an extremely loud voice rang through the square, silencing everyone.

Looking at the source of the voice, everyone was baffled to see the thin figure of Fares standing there. How did he shout out loud like that? Everybody wondered.

Fares had manipulated energy in soundwaves to enhance its power. He looked at the silenced crowd with infuriated eyes, "Who the hell do you all think you are? Did any of you cook this? Did any of you hunt this?"

The crowd stayed silent, not having an answer to the question. Fares continued, "I hunted the meat here, and I am the one cooking it. That gives me the right to give it to whomever I want."

"But why did you give it to the orphan sisters? We tire ourselves every day to hunt for prey." Someone among the crowd asked.

"I don't give a damn about who you are, or what do you do. Why should I give you anything, if the idea of giving to others does not even cross your mind?" Fares said getting irritated.

"But..."

"No buts. If you are as capable of hunting as you claim, then go eat whatever it is you have hunted. Why do you lust over what others have?" Fares said in a cold tone, turning everyone silent.

"Forget about right or wrong, just catch them. We will take what they are eating, we deserve it too." As soon as that sentence finished it was as if the crowd was waiting for the signal and everyone charged in.

Fares sighed at their stupidity, they were blinded by greed. If they have an ounce of sanity left, they would have long noticed that Fares was in the Soul Strengthening stage, as he was able to emit energy outside his body.

The average person would barely reach the peak of the Body Training stage in their life, after which only geniuses get to advance into the Soul Strengthening stage and only those at the peak of it are elder.

Everyone around ranged from beginner to peak Body Training stage, however, non had surpassed it.

He infused his energy in a wide area around him and sucked only one element out of it, Oxygen.

People started gasping for air as they halted their steps. What was going on? Why are they falling to the ground one by one? Everybody was bewildered but did not halt their steps.

Only when they were a few inches from Mona and Zena, the strongest peak Body Training stage fall unconscious on the ground, without even knowing what had happened.

"STOP THAT IMMEDIATELY!" a voice sounded in the distance, dispersing Fares' energy into the air.
