My Zombie System In The Apocalypse World

Episode 1: My Lunchtime/My Munchtime

CHOMP! SQUISH! SLURP!

"Huh?"

Kilr broke free from his deep slumber with a deep yawn. He removed his headphone, and the screams of his classmates violently echoed in his ears. He forcibly covered his ears to block out the noise.

"So noisy!"

He rubbed his eyes with the back of his hands trying to dispel the sleep spell.

"Why can't everybody shut the f**k up?"

"Can't they see I'm napping here?"

Flicker!

His eyes began to relax, and the sunlight from the windows adapted to his vision. The imagery started to increase in resolution. The sight before him was horrendous to behold.

"FUH - FUH - FUCCCK!!!"

He jumped up from his seat.

His aqua green eyes popped from shock.

"ZOOOOOOMMMBIIIIIEEESS!!"

How had a biology class on reproductive system turned to this? Kilr had been sleeping through the class, he always slept through the first few classes of school. Because he was the No. 1 Slacker.

SQUISH!! SPLAT!!

The walls and desks were painted red. Some of his classmates lay on the ground squirming in pain as some of their vital organs hung outside their bodies.

"?"

Some others were screaming at the back of the class. Their class was a bit big though, with it's four corners and a huge set of windows. The entrance to the class had been blocked by a few zombies.

"Five!"

He counted.

"Hey Kilr!" Screamed Ryod Dutchman the class head. He pushed his glasses back in his face like some nerdy anime character and waved at him. "Over here!"

Kills said nothing and let his gaze settle on the sight before him. Whatever was going through his mind, no one knew.

"How the hell is that slacker still alive?" Screamed a girl.

"The f**k! He should have die first, now my girlfriend's gone!" Cried a guy.

"What kind of f**ker sleeps at a time like this?!" Another girl said.

"What's he even doing standing there?!" Someone screamed.

Kilr brushed off all their bullshit.

Kilr was not popular with the girls but that did not bother him one bit.

Girls were a drag!

His eyes narrowed down on the sight before him, why was he so calm then?

To be honest! He was a bit disappointed by the fact that most movies made zombies seem awfully slow like a guy who had one too many drinks.

This was wrong.

The zombies before him were damn right fast like any other human. Their faces looked somewhat pale with green veins showing around their face and temples. Their eyes were white with slightly faded pupils.

Most of them looked like the treadmill had done a number on them. Red blood dripped down the sides of their mouth like a stream of cola. They kept digging their teeth and pulling out the parts of his classmates like kebabs.

"HOLY SHIT!!"

Kilr screamed alerting the zombies to him. His heart palpitated and his hands shook from the fear of the sudden realization.

"It's lunchtime!!"

"Why didn't anyone ring the damn bell?!"

His classmates wanted to swear at him but out of fear of alerting the zombies to themselves, they instead chose to curse him quietly.

"What's up with that slacker?"

"Everyone's dying and all he cares about is his f**king lunch?"

"Is this for real?"

"Waah! The end of the world is here!"

"Isn't he afraid of the zombies?!"

"I'm terrified!"

"If I had known zombies would be coming to school today I would have called in sick!"

"I want my mummy!"

A mixture of worry and unease set in on the group of twelve. Their faces all conflicted and troubled. Their last regrets all came billowing like a storm. Only three people could keep their thoughts collected at the moment.

One was Ryod Dutchman the class head.

The second was Amber Bread the vice head.

And the third: Kilr Rombot.

"Growl!!"

The girls could not help but scream as two of the zombies made their way to Kilr who was busy putting on his gold and black jacket. For some reason they felt he did not quite appreciate the thing called "life".

"Kilr!!" Ryod Dutchman ran forward crisscrossing every table standing in his way. His eyes capturing every movement around him. "Watch out!!"

Kilr bent down and reached for his shoelace.

"Now what should I have for lunch?"

His mouth watered at the thought of it but not as much as the two middle aged zombies that towered over him.

DASH!!

As shadow looked over him!

Ryod arrived just in time and drove his elbow into the jaw of the first zombie sending it tumbling over a wooden seat.

"I'm so sorry Mr. Brownlow!"

Ryod steeled his leg and threw another blow at the second zombie. He had all faith in this hit.

But he miscalculated!!!

BITE!! CHOMP!! SQUIRT!!

"Huh?" Kilr looked up to see blood dripping down the class head's hand.

DRIP! DRIP!

The students in the background all shuddered in fear.

"Ngh! I will not let you feed on any more students of Rising Star Academy Class 2-A!!"

Ryod's lungs trembled with the sound of righteousness brimming in his voice.

Kilr hissed and threw his backpack on. "Well off I go!!"

"Yes, I think I'll have some barbeque for lunch!!"

CHOMP!!
