Chapter 2 555

Gilbert's Point of View.

Sigh. I'm done. I need to chat with Rowan to warn him about what he did earlier. Ugh. Rowan is my only friend, and just to clarify, I pretend not to like him. Because... It's fun! He knows it too.

I covered my phone with a notebook and started chatting with him smoothly.

"Hey! You walked out again, come back to the room!" I messaged him.

He read it immediately.

"Shut up! Maybe tomorrow <3." Rowan replied.< p>

Is he serious?! He might get into trouble for what he's doing right now.

"Too many escapes. Aren't you scared, Rowan? Please just come back. Behave yourself!"

"Gil. I'm alright."

"I am not asking for that. What I am saying is, behave yourself." I ended our chat, lest I get caught.

Suddenly, I got a notification, but I didn't check it right away. Later. Damn, he really gets on my nerves sometimes. It's okay, I still manage to be his friend even in the worst times.

For now, I looked ahead because someone seemed embarrassed right now. How stupid she is. I can't look at her; she's annoyingly ugly to me.

"Pardon? Why aren't you speaking?" Mr. Meyer asked.

"I'm sorry, Sir! I'm just shy," she said, pretending to be timid.

H.A.HA. That was funny.

"Sir! She is known for being a snob. No way she's shy now? When has she ever been shy, unless she's with someone she likes?" I said.

They all agreed with me.

"Uhm. He has a point, I think... She was liking you, Sir!" Jhane butted in and laughed with her friends.

"Shut up! Or do you want me to say something unpleasant? Would you prefer disappearing from this world?" Nova threatened.

"Enough, y'all. It's okay. Just tell me who you are," Mr. Meyer said, looking at her, waiting for her answer.

"I am Nova.. Sir," she said before quickly leaving.

It's hard to hold back laughter in silence.

"Good Morning Everyone! And especially to our lovely Teacher. I am Jhane Orteg, 17 Years Old. My hobbies are Dancing and Horseback riding. Thank you!" she said, smiling at everyone.

He clapped and then said, "I want this kind of energy. Thank you for introducing yourself, Jhane. Next."

Goddamn. Here we go again.

"GOOD MORNING EVERYONE!!! I am Sayn Blasio! 17 Years Old. My hobby is staring at Gilbert all the time! *winks at him* Thank You!!"

"WOAHAAAAA!"

"Let's make her proud!"

"She's got guts, fighting!"

I don't know why she's still here. I'm trying to get rid of her. I even told dad about her, but he just laughs at what I say.

I don't like her!

"Gil. Sorry for asking this but can we talk?" the Class President asked.

"Sure," Gilbert replied.

"What?"

"U..h..h.....m."

"What now?"

"Is Rowan alright?"

"Out of the blue, you're asking about that? Yes, he's okay. What else?"

"That's all. Thank you for your time, Gil," he said as he patted his back and smiled before leaving.

"He's acting weird. Never mind. It's not my business to mind," he thought as he entered the room.

"Let's go to the mall and watch a movie," I invited him.

"What's this, are you asking me out on a date?" Rowan joked.

"Shut up," I laughed, "There's a new movie out, I heard it's good and it's supposed to be tear-jerking," I said, pretending to cry, trying to act cute to convince him to come.

"You never consider me as your friend. Fine! We're just going to watch a movie anyway," Gilbert complained. "I'll just find something else to do. Hmph."

"Okay, okay," he said, tousling his hair. He smiled, and they quickly bought tickets and popcorn.

"The popcorn here is really good! That's why watching movies here is so enjoyable. Hey! Isn't that the new teacher?" I said, looking around. They caught the teacher's attention, and he walked over to them.

"Hi Sir! Are you watching a movie?" Gilbert greeted.

"Yes, are you with someone?"

"Yeah, wait, let me call him. ROWAN!"

He looked back, and Rowan smiled at him. "Sorry, I had a call," Rowan said, putting his phone in his pocket. He glanced to the side and saw their new teacher, instantly ruining his mood.

"Hmm. So, Rowan's here, is this your date?" he teased.

"Mind your own business, let's go, Gilbert."

"Bye Sir!" He waved.

"That kid is so bratty," I muttered to myself.

"What's the title of the movie?"

"It's 'Eternal Flames of Love.' Do you want me to tell you the description? It's like this: the movie follows the journey of two souls destined to be together across time and space. Set in both the past and present, the film explores the enduring power of love as the couple faces obstacles, heartache, and ultimately, redemption. Through their trials and triumphs, they discover that true love knows no bounds and transcends all barriers," I proudly explained to him.

He was amazed, unable to hide his smile.

"You're something else," Rowan said, as the movie was about to start, and more people filled the theater. Their teacher suddenly appeared, sitting next to Rowan as if nothing happened.

"Right beside me," he muttered, looking to my right.

"You're avoiding me,"Fred smirked, "You know, I just realized now that you're intimidated by someone like me."

"Who are you talking to?"

"Talking to the voices in my head. They're more entertaining than most people."

"Ah, so that's why you're going crazy," he said, putting AirPods in his left ear.

"It's obvious that you're avoiding me. Is it because I'm noisy beside you, or maybe you're already hearing my voice in your head. That's obsession, kid," he joked.

After the countdown, the movie started, and everyone was serious watching.

"Where are you looking?" Rowan asked.

He didn't answer, so he let it be. Eventually, he noticed that Fred was crying, feeling a bit worried that it might be because of me.

"What happened to you? Why are you crying?" Rowan asked, looking in the direction our Teacher was staring at.

"Don't tell me that's your girlfriend? That's painful. And right in front of you," Rowan teased, while my friend was focused on the movie.

Fred didn't attempt to speak anymore and quietly left the place because of the heaviness and pain he saw.

"There are still plenty of girls out there. Tsk," Rowan said, returning his attention to the movie.

"Oh! We're getting close to the exciting part!" Gilbert exclaimed.

"What exciting part?"

"He succeeded."

"Succeeded in what?" I curiously asked.

"He passed all the tests! So they'll be together again!" Everyone in the theater cheered because they liked what was happening.

"Are they getting married?" Rowan asked.

"You really don't know anything, huh? Of course, before that, something will happen. A KISSING SCENE!" Everyone squealed with delight at the intensity of the kiss between the man and the woman.

"Through every lifetime, in every universe, my heart finds its way back to yours, for you are my eternal flame of love." — Alex.

It teaches us that love has the power to endure through all challenges and across all walks of life. It encourages us to believe in the resilience of love and to cherish the connections we form with others, knowing that love knows no boundaries and can transcend any circumstances.

The End.
