-THE END-

[Journey to become a Godslayer]

A young boy held a strange-looking book in his hands while he was sitting on a desk near the bed.

He flipped the last page back and forth like a madman, and even lost count of how many times he did that.

"Really? That's it? This is the end??"

He looked over to the last page again for confirmation and "The End" notice was undoubtedly written there.

The story was indeed over.

A mysterious book called 'Journey To Become a Godslayer' was found by a young boy named Park Eun-jae, in a small bookstore he often visits. When he stumbled upon this book, he was intrigued by the thick wooden cover it had and other odd features it contained. He thought this book was probably an ancient antic that ended up here by mistake.

Although his conscience was telling him to inform this matter to the store owner, he couldn't resist the urge to read it since Park Eun-jae was a fanatic about books. Hence, he borrowed it for a while.

Once he started reading it, he found out that this book was not some ordinary book. It was as thin as a notebook with a hundred pages but it felt like he was reading a never-ending chapter. Normally, finishing such a short length book takes up to 3-4 hours for an average reader if you binge read it. But if you take it slow, maybe a week is enough to complete it.

However, a year had already passed, and he hasn't finished that book yet, even though he was reading it at a steady pace. If it was somebody else, they would have given up on reading this book but Park Eun-jae was different. The book somehow felt magical to him and on top of that, the contents in it were interesting enough for him to get addicted to its story. Thus, he kept reading the book until it was finished.

Surprisingly, it took him almost three years to reach the climax of the story.

This strange book had been with him for such a long time that it eventually became a part of his life. So when the story was almost over, he became a little sad to part ways with it.

Though he was excited at the same time and he had higher expectations from the ending, it didn't turn out that well in the end.

"This is ridiculous. How can you call this an ending!?" Park Eun-jae twitched his eyebrows while feeling a sense of betrayal from the author of this book. "I spent my entire three years reading this book expecting an epic ending from it but what is this bulls**t!"

He was never this disappointed with anything. Not when he was getting beaten up by the illjins nor when he got betrayed by his own friend, nor when he found out that he was *****. [1]

"Tsk!"

Out of frustration, he closed the book abruptly and placed it on the table under the lampshade. It was pretty late at night. Hence, he turned off the lights and landed straight onto the bed.

But… a few seconds later... right after he closed his eyes, he felt a sharp sensation of light touching his eyelids.

He slightly opened his eyes and almost got blinded by the white light illuminating throughout his room.

"Ugh! I thought I turned off all the lights. Where's this brightness coming from?"

He covered his eyes with the left hand and started checking his surroundings around him. He noticed not a single electric appliance was on at that moment.

Then, he shifted his eyes elsewhere when something caught his attention.

"What the...!"

It was the same book that he was reading a moment ago. It was floating in mid air and it shone as bright as the sun in the sky. The whole room got radiated with the white light because of that.

He immediately went towards the desk and grabbed his glasses while putting it on his eyes right afterwards.

"What is going on!? Why is this book floating? Did someone cast a spell on it?" Eun-jae wasn't able to take a good look at the book but he was able to take a peek at it once he wore the glasses.

The book was floating mid-air at the same position for a while and didn't even move an inch since then.

"Woah... I knew this book was strange from the beginning..." Eun-jae was flabbergasted at the scene which was unfolding in front of him.

He kept staring at the book with a curious gaze and suddenly, it started approaching him at a slow pace. He darted back a little and cautiously took a defensive stance.

When it came closer enough, it instantly shot a beam of light onto his forehead between his eyes without giving him a chance to even react to it.

Through the brain, it entered straight into his body and started flowing through his veins.

Afterwards, cracks started appearing on his face and other body parts. It was as if the skin was tearing apart from inside out, showing a glimpse of light through those cracks.

"What's...happe...ning...?" As soon as he saw the cracks appearing on his hands, his eyes widened in surprise. Like a hypnotized person, Eun-jae couldn't speak properly and became unusually quiet right after he spoke those words.

A few minutes later, the cracks on his body started to enclose to it's original form and his physique returned back to normal.

Then, his eyes glowed white and the light energy that entered his body started to gather right at the center of his chest while a blue screen appeared out of nowhere in front of him.

[Synchronisation Complete]

Suddenly, his entire body started glowing golden while he was levitating in the air.

[Beginning the *********....]

With the last notification resounding in the background, the book turned back to its normal state and opened up itself. Pages after pages were being turned at a faster rate, and after it hit the last page, the book started disappearing, turning into ashes. Suddenly, a black portal formed out of those ashes and Park Eun-jae, who was still unconscious, got sucked into it.

[The ************* Completed]

Then, the portal vanished into thin air taking Park Eun-jae along with it….
