18. Sleeping soundly

"Tsk, it's hard too. She's too obsessed with you. Have you talked to her nicely to stay away from you?" asked Jack again.

"Many times. And she pretended not to hear." Darren replied annoyed, throwing a pen in hand.

"Then you just ignore her when she comes. Don't be welcomed and don't be served. Then she'll be tired." Jack said casually, as relaxed as he looked in a white casual t-shirt wrapped in a simple navy suit and blue jeans.

"Aaah never mind, why to talk about Britney. Oh yeah, tonight I won't come to your club first. Tonight my office is working overtime because we just got a 1 trillion tender deal with a resort development developer in Bali. Tonight Andrew and I will gather a team to survey there." Darren said as he turned on his laptop.

"Wow, the 1 trillionth time you've made. No wonder Britney won't let go of you. In fact, maybe all the women will be happy to warm your bed." said Jack.

"Yeah," Darren replied curtly.

"Okay, I won't bother you anymore. I go first." Jack got up from his seat and walked towards the exit. However, when his hand grabbed the door handle, he turned to look at Darren who was still focused on the laptop.

"Hmm, can I take your secretary out sometime? Looks like she still doesn't know anyone here." Jack winked at Darren to which Darren gave him a devilish look.

"HAHAHA... Alright, I won't bother her. You really are a possessive boss." Jack shook his head and chuckled to himself.

Instead of going straight to the elevator to get off, Jack took the time to approach Calista, who had finished her lunch and was now tidying up her files before starting to work.

"Hi...." Jack greeted in front of Calista's partition.

"Oh, hi too. By the way, the lunch box…"

"I told you to throw it away, hmm? Oh, I guess we haven't met yet." Jack raised his eyebrows.

"Oh yes. Thanks for the bread. I'll treat you back sometime." Calista replied. "My name is Calista." She continued.

"I'm Jack. Calista.... a beautiful name. Such a beautiful person." Jack began to issue a trick to seduce women as he always practiced.

"Thank you." Just as Calista smiled back at Jack's words, she accidentally saw Darren in the room watching her with a gripping gaze. Calista swallowed hard saliva.

"I… still have a lot of work to do. Sorry, I can't chat any longer." Calista replied timidly.

"Well okay, here's my business card. If you need anything, don't hesitate to call me." Jack held out his thumb and little finger like a telephone receiver to his ear.

"Yes thank you." Calista immediately resumed her work, while Jack walked home past Darren's room who was back in her chair as fast as lightning.

Until the afternoon crawl and until 7 pm, there is no sign of the employees on this floor will leave the office for their respective homes. Calista, who was tired on her first day at work, still had to wait for the managers and Darren for the meeting to end. Calista, who was staring at the laptop screen with her left hand supporting her left cheek, suddenly fell asleep while sitting up. While her right hand can still hold the laptop mouse even in a silent position.

The clock shows 8 pm. And, the meeting which started at 6 pm was over. Darren, who was walking with Andrew past the secretary's desk, saw that Calista could fall asleep while sitting and even almost fell over her head many times but she came back again.

"We will continue tomorrow. Tell her to go home with the driver who brought her here. I'll be back later." Andrew nodded and started calling the driver who had taken Calista this morning.

"Miss Calista, miss..."

"Haaa...." Calista answered with a life that hasn't all been collected.

"Please, go home first. The driver is already here. You just wait in the lobby." Andrew said.

"Ohh, is the meeting over?" Calista stretched her back and yawned while covering her mouth.

"Yes, just now. The boss asked you to go home first." Andrew once again told Calista to get ready.

"Okay. Until tomorrow. I'm already very sleepy." Calista took her bag from the drawer and closed her laptop. Calista walked past Darren's room without saying goodbye. She wobbly steps while shaking her head to dispel the very sleepy sleep.

Darren, who saw Calista pass through his room, only frowned. But, judging by the way she walked, the girl seemed to have fallen into a deep sleep. So, Darren wasn't going to make any calculations with her... at least for now.

Calista waited for the driver to pick her up in the lobby alone. There's no one else. All employees have returned to their respective homes. Only a few security officers were still milling about checking the room one by one.

"Waiting for your driver, ma'am?" A man of a security guard reprimanded Calista who was still sitting in a sleepy state.

"Yes sir." Calista answered briefly. There was no longer any effort from her to just make small talk. The drowsiness that hung in her eyelids was too heavy to open wide.

"Over time, ma'am? There are still people upstairs, aren't there?" The officer replied again.

"Yes, sir, they just finished the meeting. It'll be down soon." It didn't take long for Calista to say, sure enough about 4-5 managers came down at the same time and walked out of the lobby. They didn't see Calista sitting in the corner leaning her shoulder against the arm of the sofa. The security guard who had invited Calista to speak was immediately preoccupied with helping the managers get their respective cars.

An hour later Darren came down to the lobby preparing to head home.

"Everyone has gone downstairs. We're the last." Darren said to the officer who was still standing guard in front of the lobby door.

"Oh yes, one less sir." The officer just remembered Calista who was still asleep on the sofa. He half-ran over to Calista. And, sure enough.... this girl hasn't gotten her pick yet. Calista looked sound asleep in her sleep, hugging her hands under her chest in a half-lying position to the side.

Darren, who was curious, followed the pace of the security guard's father. He was very surprised when he saw that one less person was Calista.

"Her car hasn't arrived yet?" Darren asked in surprise.

"There is no car or motorbike to pick up this lady, sir. She's been waiting for over an hour. It's a pity that tonight there is no public transportation passing by." Answer the father.

Darren shook his head and sighed. Andrew who followed behind Darren was surprised to see Calista who had not come home.

"Wait a minute sir, I'll call the driver again. The last time I called him he immediately said he was sliding." Andrew stepped away from the crowd of three and called someone on the other end. Andrew seemed to be talking in a tone of astonishment.

"Sir, Miss Calista's car broke down in the middle of the road. Even now it is still not finished yet because the driver just found a workshop on the side of the road." Andrew replied.

"Huh, how is this? It's impossible to let her sleep here. Andrew, my car is out front?" Darren asked.
