"Leader!"
Unable to wait any longer, Bai Ran knocked on the door next to hers, "Xiangsi is in a lot of pain. Please think of something!"
If this continues, who knows if she might get something like an intestinal perforation?
"Is it that serious?"
Without a second thought, Gu Shaohua got up and went to the next room.
By now, Sheng Xiangsi was in too much pain to speak. "Gu... Gu..."
"Don't talk."
Gu Shaohua waved her hand, then turned to Bai Ran, "Did you call the front desk?"
"Yes."
But the front desk couldn't help either.
"No way!"
Gu Shaohua gritted her teeth and made a quick decision, "Even with the roads closed, we have to get her to a hospital! We can't just let her die here!"
She instructed Bai Ran, "Help Xiangsi change her clothes. I'll find Section Chief Li and get the car ready, and find someone to carry her."
Section Chief Li, the logistics chief.
"I refuse to believe that with such a serious situation, the traffic police won't let us through."
"Okay, leader!"
Gu Shaohua left, and Bai Ran hurried to help Sheng Xiangsi change her clothes.
In no time, Gu Shaohua returned, "Is she ready?"
"Yes, she is."
Gu Shaohua glanced at the young man from the logistics department, "Carry Xiangsi, she can't walk."
"Okay, leader."
The young man went to the bed, and Bai Ran helped him lift Sheng Xiangsi onto his back.
"Mm..."
Sheng Xiangsi closed her eyes, frowning in pain, the position pressing on her stomach.
"Xiangsi, hang in there. It'll be better once you're in the car."
The young man carried Xiangsi out of the room, with Gu Shaohua and Bai Ran following.
At the entrance, Section Chief Li had already brought the car around, but the wind and rain were so strong that he wiped his face upon getting out of the car.
"It's too dangerous to drive in this weather!" he said with concern.
Gu Shaohua frowned deeply. Didn't she know it was dangerous? But they couldn't just leave Sheng Xiangsi like this.
"Leader!"
The young man carrying Sheng Xiangsi hesitated, "If something goes wrong, we're violating city regulations and won't even get compensation!"
Their concerns were understandable. The visibility was less than fifty meters.
Seeing Gu Shaohua's indecision, Bai Ran also became anxious, "Leader?"
As they hesitated, a roaring sound suddenly echoed above them.
In fact, the roaring sound had been circling above for a while, but it was drowned out by the wind and rain.
Now, Gu Shaohua and Bai Ran looked up to see something slowly descending...
Bai Ran exclaimed in surprise, "A helicopter!"
So that was the source of the noise!
Everyone stood there in a daze, not knowing what was happening.
The helicopter slowly landed in the central square. Then, the cabin door opened, and two tall men, wearing goggles and dressed in dark green flight suits, stepped out.
Fu Hanjiang led, with Rong Zheng following closely behind.
Wearing goggles, Fu Hanjiang immediately spotted Sheng Xiangsi on the young man's back.
She had her eyes closed, in such pain that she was barely conscious.
Fu Hanjiang's brow twitched, and he strode over to her.
Without a word, he stretched out his arms, "Give her to me."
Gu Shaohua was stunned. She hadn't expected him to come. How had he found out?
But now wasn't the time to ask. She ordered the young man, "Hurry!"
"Yes!"
Fu Hanjiang took Sheng Xiangsi from the young man, carrying her in his arms like a princess.
With the pressure off her stomach, Sheng Xiangsi instinctively found a comfortable position in his arms.
Fu Hanjiang's heart sank!
How much pain must she be in? Her face was covered in cold sweat, her hair soaked and sticking to her face.
Rong Zheng immediately came up, spreading out the rain cloth in his hand to shield her from the wind and rain.
Time was of the essence. Without a word, they worked together seamlessly to bring Sheng Xiangsi onto the helicopter.
The cabin door closed.
"Second Master, I'll fly."
"Okay."
Fu Hanjiang had flown on the way here, but now, holding Xiangsi, he couldn't spare a hand.
The helicopter took off again, heading towards the city.
Fu Hanjiang looked down at the person in his arms, gently pushing her sweaty hair away from her face, murmuring, "We'll be at the hospital soon."
On a typhoon night, even the emergency room was unusually quiet.
Suddenly, the automatic glass doors opened.
"Doctor! Quickly!"
"Nurse!"
"Coming!"
"Send her to the emergency room! Notify the doctor!"
…
Meanwhile, Zhong Pei was stuck on the road.
The traffic police wouldn't let him through. He was trying to pull strings and find a way.
During the wait, he was extremely worried about Xiangsi.
Since his number was blocked by Xiangsi, he got a new number and called her.
After a few rings, it was answered.
"Xiangsi!" Zhong Pei's heart tightened, "How are you? Is the pain severe? Have you…"
"Um..."
A strange female voice answered.
It was Bai Ran. Seeing a string of unfamiliar numbers, she didn't know who it was, "Are you Xiangsi's friend? She left her phone in the room."
"Where is she?"
"She's already been taken to the hospital..."
Bai Ran recalled what the teacher had said earlier, "She was taken to Haicheng Municipal Hospital."
Is that so?
"Alright! Thank you!"
Hastily, Zhong Pei hung up.
Because the traffic police were signaling him, "You can go now!"
"Thank you!"
Zhong Pei got into his car and immediately headed to the municipal hospital.
Meanwhile, Bai Ran, holding the phone, muttered, "Who was that?"
She didn't know the man who had come down from the helicopter either. Who cares, as long as they were Xiangsi's friends and Xiangsi knew them.
…
At the hospital.
Sheng Xiangsi had already come out of the emergency room and was in a private room for observation, receiving an IV.
After finishing the injection, the nurse glanced at Fu Hanjiang and reassured him, "She's alright now. With the weather so bad today, you wouldn't want to delay things."
"Yes."
Fu Hanjiang nodded, "Thank you."
"No problem, call us if you need anything."
"Alright."
Fu Hanjiang stayed by the bedside, watching Sheng Xiangsi sleep. Seeing her peaceful sleeping face, his heart finally settled.
"You scared me to death…"
"Second Master."
The door suddenly opened, and Rong Zheng walked in.
Knowing he had something to say, Fu Hanjiang got up, softly saying to Sheng Xiangsi, "I'll step out for a moment, I'll be right back."
The sleeping person naturally didn't respond.
Outside, Fu Hanjiang shoved his hands into his pockets, "What did you find out?"
Indeed, Rong Zheng had gone to investigate the cause of Xiangsi's stomach cramps.
There was no specific reason; he just wanted to know why she got sick.
But he hadn't expected Rong Zheng to actually find something.
"Tonight, Xiangsi ate the same food as the rest of the troupe. She and her roommate, Bai Ran, ate the same dishes, with perhaps one or two exceptions."
The food was all from the hotel restaurant.
"Only Xiangsi had stomach pain?"
"Yes." Rong Zheng nodded, smirking, "A girl named Diao Yan gave her a glass of juice—apparently, this Diao Yan has been targeting Xiangsi."
Oh?
Fu Hanjiang's eyes darkened, "So, she put something dirty in the juice."
He spoke with certainty, not as a question.
