Chapter 1THE START

I'm Khione, and I'm just like everybody else in this stupid world. I live in the boring world of Snowspell, I live in a village called WinterWallow. It is depressing here. Not a thing happens here, the only interesting thing is the sky and the White Bridge. The White Bridge is a bridge that is covered with snow and ice, legend says that you can see Earth from the bridge, I wouldn't know if that is true because only the top priests can go on the bridge. It is my dream to go to Earth to meet a human. My best friend Oreithyia is amazing, she is so talented she already got her powers. I haven't got my powers yet but I will soon, my mom said I will. Atlas and his twin sister Nova got their powers when they were two years old.

Classification only meant shit if you walked back out of the gate. Otherwise, shut your mouth and listen to those with more experience. They determined who made it out alive or not. But Kellen was tired now. He had gotten everything out of his system, and the fast paced life on the front lines didn’t suit him anymore. Now, he wanted to go home, buy a house, maybe find a nice man to settle down with, and live a normal life. All the while, the yellow eyes he’d met on the front lines haunted him, no matter how much he tried to forget about them. Especially since the Esper they were attached to refused to let him go.
