On the outskirts of Fort Doom, a massive green energy shield surged upward, enveloping everything within a radius of several kilometers.

The shield shimmered like a transparent film, radiating faint energy waves that danced across its surface. Wherever these waves brushed against the earth, the vegetation seemed to quiver in response, as though trembling under the immense power of the force field. Leaves shuddered, flowers swayed, and blades of grass bent ever so slightly, creating an eerie sense of foreboding.

Something big was about to happen.

Suddenly, a burst of dazzling white light shattered the darkness a hundred meters from the shield. Sparks of energy flickered like fireflies in a storm, illuminating the gloom as a figure emerged.

A colossal boxer zombie lumbered forward, its grotesque form drenched in decay. Shreds of fur clung to its bloated body, while festering wounds oozed putrid blood. The whites of its eyes were stained an unnatural crimson, reflecting a deep, insatiable hunger.

Its jaws parted, revealing blood-stained teeth. Droplets of congealed blood hung from its mouth like rubies, trickling down to form a sickening crimson trail.

Further back, cloaked in shadow, a skeletal white hand stretched forward.

"Don't worry, Tetanus," a cold voice whispered, patting the massive zombie dog standing at its side. "We'll have plenty of meat to chew on soon."

The dog, even in its zombified state, responded to the touch with a guttural growl of satisfaction. It swallowed the bone in its jaws in a single gulp before rubbing its grotesque head affectionately against the pale hand. Despite its monstrous nature, there was an unsettling bond between the dog and its master—a connection that transcended death.

As Tetanus settled, Black Bolt stepped forward, his blackened eyes scanning the sea of undead around him.

"Tetanus can only get us this far," he said, his voice calm but laced with authority. "Fort Doom has some sort of anti-teleportation barrier."

Luke Cage cracked his knuckles. "So, we smash it?"

Black Bolt patted Tetanus' head as if to thank the beast for its efforts. "If we can break it, we won't need Tetanus anymore."

Captain America stepped in, raising his battered shield. "Let's stay focused. We'll deal with the barrier first. Questions later." Sparks flew as he scraped his shield against a nearby rock, drawing the attention of the restless horde behind him.

Black Bolt's voice turned wistful, his gaze distant. "Do you know what we lost, Captain? Attilan, the gleaming blue city on the moon, destroyed in the war between me and my wife. She was the first to fall—infected during a skirmish on Earth."

He hesitated, clenching his fists. "She invited me to dine with her after her infection. I roared in defiance, and my voice shattered her body… but not before her bite cursed me as well. Even my dog, Tetanus, fell victim to the same fate."

The Captain shot him a sharp look. "Black Bolt, with all due respect, this isn't the time for nostalgia. We've got a war to win."

Black Bolt nodded slowly, his somber expression hardening. "You're right. Enough talk."

He stepped to the edge of the energy shield and took a deep breath. Power surged through him as he released a thunderous scream.

The force of his voice rippled visibly through the air, slamming into the shield with devastating impact. The ground beneath their feet fractured as the sonic shockwaves reverberated, scattering the undead in all directions. The shield wavered, glowing erratically as cracks began to form across its surface.

Sensing weakness, Red Tank, Meatball, and Luke Cage charged forward, throwing their massive bodies against the shield's fractured surface.

BOOM!

The combined force of their impact shattered the barrier completely, sending shards of green energy cascading into the air.

Captain America pointed toward the fortress and yelled, "Move! There's fresh meat inside, but stay sharp—this isn't a free buffet!"

Iron Fist and Sabretooth leapt across the now-exposed perimeter without hesitation. But their triumph was short-lived.

BOOM!

A hidden landmine detonated beneath Iron Fist, tearing him apart in an instant. Sabretooth's severed head rolled across the blood-soaked ground, growling in frustration. "Somebody fix this! I can still regenerate!"

The remaining undead exchanged uncertain glances. Lady Deathstrike sighed, her razor-sharp nails glinting as she inspected the carnage. "Stop dreaming, Victor. Our healing factors are gone. That virus saw to it."

She was right. Even legends like Wolverine and Deadpool—once indomitable—had succumbed to the virus' crippling effects.

Inside the fortress, Adrian lowered his binoculars, his expression grim. Every detail of the chaos unfolding outside was etched into his mind.

"Thor," he called out, his voice calm but commanding. "Do you see it?"

Thor smirked, twirling Mjolnir with ease. "Oh, I see it." Lightning crackled across the hammer's surface, the faint hum of raw power filling the air. "And I'll enjoy ending it."

He hurled Mjolnir skyward. The hammer pierced the stormy clouds, calling forth a massive bolt of lightning that struck the advancing horde.

CRACK!

The explosion sent limbs flying. Daredevil fell, his lower body obliterated. "Ah, hell, my legs!"

Another zombie wailed as its arm was torn off by the lightning strike. "My hand! Where's my—"

"Shut it!" barked Captain America, raising his shield as he rallied the survivors. "We've all lost something. But if Sabretooth can keep going with just a head, so can you!"

Sabretooth muttered weakly, "Not as fine as you think, Cap…"

"Enough!" Captain America ordered. "Red Tank, take the lead. Clear the path. Flyers, provide cover from above. The rest, stick with me!"

Colossus, Red Tank, and Luke Cage charged ahead, shrugging off the explosions from additional landmines. Behind them, the ragged army of undead surged forward, determined to breach the fortress and claim their prize.

In the distance, Adrian watched their approach, his eyes narrowing as he prepared for the final confrontation.
