Chapter 69: Hydra

'Hydra'

Jack, for sure, hasn't forgotten that this group has been around for a really long time with a super interesting past. It's so old that it's even older than most civilizations in other countries.

Believing that a single World War II can be enough to defeat them is a stupid idea.

Originally, he didn't want to get involved with Hydra. Their schemes caused many problems on Earth, and it wasn't worth his time.

But Jack didn't expect that shortly after he returned, they came to bother him first.

Not to mention, they almost hurt Wanda and killed Pietro. Jack will never let this go because they are the ones who save him.

On another note, he returned a bit late than expected, and now he's concerned that Hydra may have killed Howard. This is another thing he needs to take care of to pay back what they did.

Regardless of how he looks at it, Jack feels it's necessary to visit the Hydra castle in Sokovia.

Wanda is still resting and hasn't woken up yet, and Pietro is getting better. He needs to stay in the nutrient solution for some time to recover.

This time is just enough for him to do something.

"Red Queen, take care of them. I'll be back soon!"

After giving instructions to the Red Queen, Jack opened a portal and returned to Earth.

Revenge has begun

Almost at the same time, Hydra inside the castle also received the news.

"Mission failed?"

Baron Strucker, one of the leaders of Hydra and the person in charge here, looked at his subordinates in surprise. "What happened? The EKO Scorpion rarely fails."

"We're not sure what happened exactly, but it should be related to the target," the subordinate replied. "The entire EKO Scorpion team was killed, which is not something that ordinary people can achieve."

Strucker was silent for a moment. The mission failed, and the entire team was wiped out. This shows that whoever came with the escape pod is definitely not an ordinary person. If they can capture the target, it will greatly help their cause.

"Is there any progress from Dr. List?"

Thinking of the escape pod, he also remembered this matter. It has been several days since it was brought here, and Dr. List should have made some progress.

"There hasn't been a significant breakthrough yet, but Dr. List says this is definitely not Earth's technology!"

One of the subordinates reported in detail, "The technology up there is very advanced. There are some things that even we haven't made a breakthrough on and some things that even Dr. Lester can't figure out. They look similar to some of the unidentified flying objects from before."

"Is that so!" Strucker breathed a sigh of relief. Even if they couldn't catch the person, having this escape pod was still a considerable gain, but they still needed to search for it.

"Send a secret team to search for the target's whereabouts and report any findings immediately..."

Bang!!!

Strucker's orders hadn't even finished before there was a sudden and violent explosion outside.

Even the entire castle shook.

"What's going on?!"

Baron Stark managed to steady himself and immediately asked.

"Sir, there's an enemy invasion!"

A soldier ran over to report, "The main gate has just been breached!"

"Enemy?"

Baron Stark frowned. Where did they come from in Sokovia? Who dares to fire on this place?

"How many enemies are there?"

"...Only one."

Bang!!

Just then, the ceiling suddenly burst open, and a figure broke through and landed in front of Stark.

.....

Just ten minutes ago, Jack stood in front of a castle built into the mountainside. He had a cold expression and walked inside without saying a word.

As he took each step, an explosive force surged from his feet, destroying everything in its path. Houses, trees, and rocks were all destroyed.

When he showed up, many Hydra soldiers came out of hiding and started yelling and running toward him. Soldiers tried to stop him, but they couldn't even get close to him.

Jack caused things to explode as he walked, and after a little while, the area behind him became so damaged that no one could go there.

After reaching the bottom of the mountain, Jack saw the old castle buildings and felt disappointed. He said, "What a waste," but it wasn't clear what he meant. Then, he jumped and landed on top of the castle in no time.

Here, he saw soldiers, tanks, armored vehicles, and even helicopters appearing continuously from the castle and the surrounding forests. Anti-aircraft guns were also present.

The entire area was a fortress, although not as impenetrable as it would be ten years later, it was still tough.

Jack wasn't concerned about the reinforcements. He found his target from a high spot, then jumped and landed perfectly on top of the castle.

Bang!

Jack crashed through the castle's outer wall and fell inside with a loud bang. He broke through a few more walls until he ended up in an office where he saw Baron Strucker, who was wearing a monocle and looking very surprised.

Jack brushed off the dust from his body and said, "It's actually quite easy to find you, Baron Strucker."

Strucker suddenly snapped out of it and said, "You?!" He was one of the top leaders of Hydra, so he recognized Jack right away, just like he could easily recognize Captain America.

This guy was even more of a threat than Captain America in some ways.

"How can you still be alive?!" This was something Strucker couldn't comprehend.

"Well, that's a good question. I thought people had forgotten about me," Jack said, looking at Strucker with approval. "But now it's my turn to ask questions, so please don't interrupt me, okay?"

"My entrance was a bit rough, but I think it was pretty good," he added.

"First, the first question..." Jack hadn't even finished his sentence when a sudden shouting came from beside him, followed by a person engulfed in flames charging towards him.

"What the hell?" Jack frowned, but he didn't even look at the person. He casually waved his hand, and the surrounding space instantly tightened, turning the fire-man into a small ball and dropping it to the ground.

"..."

Baron Strucker looked completely startled. His trusted subordinate, who was alive and well just a moment ago, was suddenly turned into a ball

"Alright, no one's disturbing us now, so the first question!" Jack continued.

Jack raised a finger and asked, "Who sent EKO Scorpion to find me?"

"Was it... was it you?!" Baron Strucker widened his eyes, surprised but also realizing it made sense.

"Answer my question!" Jack demanded.

"...It was... it was me," Strucker reluctantly admitted.

"Good, now for the second question." Jack raised a second finger. "Who gave the order to eliminate Howard Stark?"

"Alexander Pierce!" Strucker answered right away. He realized that Jack was way more powerful than his own team, and he didn't want to make him mad. Jack had already proven he could take him down, so Strucker decided to be truthful with him.

"Thank you for your cooperation." Jack pats Strucker's shoulder gently and pulls out a crystal emitting a faint blue light from his pocket, placing it into Strucker's hand.

"I've got a present for you. " Can't wait to see you again...if you're lucky enough," Jack said, then opened a portal to leave. Strucker was so shocked that he didn't respond until a minute later when he realized he was still alive.

He would have thought it was a dream if it weren't for the ball on the ground. He looks down at the crystal in his hand and is suddenly surrounded by a blue light before falling into endless darkness.

Later, the residents of Sokovia discovered that the castle outside the city had disappeared without a trace, leaving only a large pit several miles in radius.

Just like it was hit by a meteor,
