Selene pt.2

Selene stayed quiet for a while and then finally nodded, "I can take you to their base but don't count on me to save you."

"Good," Howard said as he stood up throwing a pack of blood towards Selene, "Since you're a vampire I am guessing blood helps. So better drink up."

"I'll need more of these," Selene said as she bit through the pack sucking on the blood as her eyes immediately turned wide open. Without stopping she drank through to the whole thing in a blink, "What kind of blood is this?"

"Oh is it good?" Howard asked with a smile coming forward wiping off the blood from her lips, "Can you tell me how it's different?"

"It- It taste's normal like any other blood but it's more filling. It's like getting drunk on good wine." Selene explained licking her lips, "Just that alone has helped me recover a lot. I have never had anything like this before."

"Interesting!" Howard exclaimed, 'So my blood that has regenerative functions helps vampires by giving them something like a blood boost, huh! I was wondering if they could differentiate my X-gene but I guess that's far too much to ask for.'

As Howard was thinking about this whole thing, Selene on the other hand was observing the man in front of her as well. The man was overall good looking by all standards and seemed way too mysterious. She had all sorts of questions running through her head. About how he escaped saving her that day? How he figured out about both the Vampires and Lycans's weaknesses so quickly? The strange but seemingly deadly weapon with him? And most importantly the blood.

Howard noticed her gaze as he smirked, "Do you want more?"

Selene gulped as her vampiric instinct got the best of her as she nodded.

"I would give it to you directly from the source but I can't have you turning me at least until I've figured how it affects me." Howard said walking away as he pushed the tray full of blood bags towards her, "Enjoy. We're heading out tonight so be prepared."

"You really are weird," Selene said as she sat behind him on the bike.

"What makes you think so?"

"Weird weapons, this bike, the fact that you aren't afraid." Selene listed out different things she found weird about him than any ordinary human she had seen before. "You said you wanted to kill yourself with a silver bullet before too, don't tell me that you're just suicidal?"

"If you observe me that closely, you might fall in love. It has happened a few times before." Howard said chuckling, "As for the bullet in the thing you will find out soon."

"Narcissistic too, are you?"

"Of course." Howard said, "You might not know me but in the human world I am quite famous though recently for the wrong reasons. You see, I am the richest man in the country right now and have been for a while. Everyone looked at me with respect but due to the war, people's opinions of me have been turning a complete 180."

"What did you do?"

"Nothing much, just sold a few planes and weapons to the military, so they call me a war profiteer." Howard said, "It's fun seeing all the people criticize me especially knowing that everyone would sell their soul to just be in my position for a while."

"I have a little understanding of the human war." Selena nodded, "But why do so? Won't selling them more weapons lead to more death?"

"It would be weird if I said I didn't care but what of it." Howard explained, "If I don't sell those things others will and the result would be the same regardless. At least with this, I can get the monopoly of these things and after that, I'll be in control of what and how much to sell. Enough about me, so tell me about yourself?"

"Well as I said I am a vampire. And a Death Dealer. Due to some personal reasons, I've been hunting Lycans and my job as a Death Dealer is to kill every single one of them." Selena said not going in too much detail, "The current group we're hunting is a separated pack. They ran off from the original pack and we've been trying to hunt them for awhile. I followed them to this city and noticed the weird atmosphere in that bar so I went in to investigate and you know the rest. What were you doing there?"

"I was meeting up with a friend." Howard said, "Business spy if you will. We meet at a different bar each time and that day just happened to be kind of bad luck for him."

"And not for you?"

"Of course not, I got to meet a beautiful vampire lady and I finally got something interesting to do during these nonsensical times." Howard grinned, "Victor and James would be kinda jealous if they heard about this. They are my brothers, by the way, they left to fight in the war just yesterday."

"You didn't tell them about it?"

"Can't have them ruining my fun."

"I guess it runs in the family, huh." Selena for the first let out a small smile.

Howard turned to look at her and then turned away with a grin, "You know you're the first person in a while to make my heartbeat so crazily. Are all vampires beautiful like you?"

"Does it matter?" Selena rolled her eyes, "All men really do think the same."

"Not all of them. But I believe that being honest is much better than acting innocent, don't you think Miss Selene" Howard chuckled, "But I wonder, what are you going to do after you complete this whole genocide of Lycans?"

"I don't know." Selene said thinking for a while, "My whole life I have devoted to hunting them, so I never thought about it till now."

"I see." Howard nodded, "Then you should come work for me then. I will keep you on night-guard so you don't have to worry."

Selena smiled shaking her head as she didn't say anything. She had been around for thousands of years and like every human, she knew Howard will pass away sooner or later and it was still a long while before the whole Lycans were wiped out.
