The Analogist

Maria's POV

"No thanks!" I said to Roy, who offered me a cup of coffee. I have been staying in the house since the little scene at the hospital.

I had wanted to go home but thought it was best to clear my head first. Roy, surprisingly was good company. He knew when to let me be. He also knew when I just needed to vent. It was not the worst thing being around him.

"You shouldn't overthink Mar. It gives wrinkles," he joked, and I laughed.

"Another old woman's fable, right?"

"Nah, it's real. You should see my mum when she was so worried about the woman that tried hard to get into my dad's bed versus now that she stopped caring. She looks younger and much healthier. True story," he dramatized.

"So, did she succeed in getting into your dad's bed?" I clowned back, and this time he laughed.
