Dream or Reality

I was falling, falling in complete darkness. I could feel the wind rushing past me almost as if it was trying to tear me apart. I don't know what was scarier, the fact that I knew I was going to fall forever or knowing that the wind could tear me apart at any second. Then the craziest thing started to happen, everything started to slow down. Me, the wind, my thoughts, everything. Then I completely stopped. I tried to look around me but couldn't at no avail. It was still completely dark no matter where I looked. One thing was different, my hands. One started to feel as cold as ice as the other started feeling as hot as fire. They started to glow as well. One a whitish blue, the other reddish yellow. Then I heard something in the darkness that I couldn't make sense of. It said to me "Mal'āk o' shedim" Then I awoke.

I woke up confused and a little scared, trying to figure out where I was. Slowly the rest of my mind started to clear up from the drowsiness. I was in my own room. I started to calm down.Thats when the scent hit me. it spelt as if something was burning. I look down at my sheets and quickly got out of bed. Half of my sheets seemed to have burned.

Starting to panic I quickly started to pick up my sheets. That's when I realized something else. The other half of my sheets were completely frozen. "What the hell is going on?!" I thought to myself.

I put the sheets in my closet trying to hide any evidence and trying to wrap my head around it. First the dream, then this? Was it a coincidence? Did it mean something?

With that I quickly got dressed and headed towards the stairs. My head quickly cleared of the morning events as I heard and smelt the sizzle of bacon coming from the kitchen. God I love bacon!With that I ran down the stairs and into the kitchen.

"Morning mum! Morning dad!"

My mum was at the counter still cooking everyone's breakfast. My dad on the other hand was at the table with the morning newspaper and a half glass of coffee.

"Hey Manifest, how'd you sleep last night?" My dad asked as I stole a piece of bacon from the pan in front of mom.

"Hey now!" My mum yelled as she tried to swat at my hand but missed.

"I slept alright, going to go to Damians place later and hang out." I didn't want to mention anything that occurred this morning. I thought best to keep it to myself. Besides who would believe something like that?

"Just make sure you don't stay out to late, we are celebrating your birthday tonight with a special dinner." My mum said.

"My birthday isn't until tomorrow though, why tonight?"

My mum looked over at my dad as if silently speaking with him. "Well we just thought we would celebrate a little early. It's not like you turn 18 every year." She comes over with a plate of eggs, bacon, and buttered toast.

I hurriedly started shoveling food into my mouth. Did I mention I love bacon?

"Well I need to head out, have a busy day at work today." My dad said as he got up and took the news paper with him.

"Alright love have a good day at work, I'll see you tonight. love you!"

"Bye dad!"

With that my dad went out the door and waited as we heard his car pull out of the drive way.

I finished up the rest of my food and got up. "I'm going to head out as well mom. I told Damian I would be over after breakfast"

"Alright, just remember don't be late!" My mum yelled as I ran out of the door.
