ch.05 Big white wolf

Finn's P.O.V.

I opened my eyes and it was still dark, I reached for my phone on my desk and checked the time from my phone, it's 4:15 am, I laid my back trying to go back to sleep, but there's this weird feeling, like someone is watching me.

I stood up and looked outside through my window and caught a glimpse of shadow moving quickly, I couldn't tell what it was so I went outside the house to check it.

I walked straight to where I saw it, looked on every side, but saw nothing.

I turned around and a large shadow towering me and I could feel it's presence behind me, I slowly turn around and it's a 5 ft tall white wolf with big red glowing eyes.

What bothered me was I wasn't feeling scared , but instead I feel drawn to it, like it was pulling my soul.

I slowly raised my right hand to touch it's fur and it didn't move an inch as if it was waiting for me to come closer.

When my hand finally meet it's fur a buzzing sound popped in my ears and I realized it's my alarm clock.

The buzzing sound completely woke me from my slumber, I sighed.I was sweating and I realized it was only just a dream.

I checked my phone and there are 2 unopened messages.

unknown sender: hey, you still awake? '10:50pm'

your lights are still on so I just assumed. '10:51pm'

so he or she is just my neighbor, but where did he or she get my number, mom wouldn't just give away my phone number. I looked at my light and realized I didn't turned it off last night before dozing off. I went to turn the switch off and it was still dark, I check the time and it was still 5:20am.

I decided to go for a run, I walked to the closet and grabbed a plain white t-shirt, a gray sweat short and put it on, I grabbed my running shoes, my wireless earbuds and wore them.

I went outside, it is still dark, the sun will rise in a few minutes. I stretched my arms and legs, I played some music and started running.

I checked the time and it's been an hour since I left, my legs keeps on moving like I'm not even feeling exhausted, I keep on running and run for more until I feel like I should go all out.

I saw a dried leaf fall off and as soon as it landed I sprinted immediately, I could feel my heart pounding while I'm catching my breath, after 40 seconds I could feel that I have reached my limit and turned my sprint to walking pace.

I took deep breaths, I tilted my head upward and feel the sunlight's heat on my skin. My head is sweating and I could feel it running down to my face.

I didn't have a problem on walking home since I was only running around the neighborhood for an hour.

I felt this weird eerie that someone is watching me, I looked around the neighborhood and didn't see anyone spying me.

My phone vibrated while I was holding it, I checked my phone and there's a new message.

unknown sender: Good morning, care to stop by and have some coffee or tea?

I stopped mid track and looked around.

me: who are you? '6:30am'

unknown: you're friendly neighbor?

me: how did you get my number?

unknown: why don't you stop by I'm 2 blocks ahead from you.

I furrowed my brows and glanced straight ahead, I saw girl on a porch sitting on a chair holding a phone, that must be her texting me, as I was getting closer our eyes just met and she raised her right hand in mid air.

I realized her house is just behind my house is.

I stopped in front of her porch, "good morning, Finn" she took a sip on her mug. she has black curly hair,and she has beautiful black eyes, she's wearing a sweater and shorts . "are you stalking me?"

she laughed spilling her coffee on the floor, "what makes you think that I'm a stalker?" she rolled her eyes.

"where did you get my number?" I asked "you left your pocket book at the library yesterday, if you were paying attention to your surroundings you should've noticed me there." she stood up and her sweater is covering halfway to her legs, she went inside her house and came back with my pocket book on her hand. "and how did you know where I lived?" I asked.

"well, I saw you guys moved here the other day and then I saw you yesterday at the library" she explained.

"sorry, I thought you were a stalker and thanks for keeping my book safe, I would have lost it for sure if you hadn't noticed." a smile creeps on her face. "wanna join me here for some coffee?" she said.

"Sorry, maybe next time." She handed me my book " thanks again" I smiled and walked away, I looked back and turn around, she is about to close the door "wait, I didn't get your name," I shouted, "it's Sarah" I smiled at her and nodded.

I went home and mom was washing the car. Mom's car is a white Ford Ranger "mom, let me do it," I mumbled and walked to the garage.

I placed my phone, pocket book and earbuds on a table on the porch.

"good morning Finn," she mumbled. I took the cloth from her hand that she used to wipe the car, "thank you sweety" she mumbled and I started wiping the car dry "you're up early today, did you get enough sleep last night?"

"Yeah, I just decided to wake up early and went for a run" I said and she nodded, "okay, so when you're done, there's breakfast I prepared on the table." I nodded and mom went inside the house.

After drying the car I went inside the house and ate at the table, "Finn there's orange juice in the fridge, I'll pour you a glass if you want?"mom offered. "yes please"

"I don't have work today, you can use the car to go to school" She mumbled, and I nodded "thanks mom!" she handed me a glass of orange juice. "take Abby and Jacob to school and don't forget to pick them up after your school" I nodded.

I cleaned the table and went to my room to take a quick shower and head to school.

"come on guys let's go we're gonna be late" I glanced at Abby and Jacob finishing their breakfast and kissed mom goodbye "you guys have a nice day at school" mom mumbled while washing the dishes on the sink. "see ya later mom!" the twin shouted.

I opened the car and lifted Abby into the car and then Jacob, I went to the driver's seat, started the engine and drove off.

I played the music 'everything sucks by vaultboy' because I know this is Abby and Jacob's favorite, we started singing along as soon as the music started, I just couldn't help but adore their cute smiling faces.

Abby and Jacob's school is 1km further to my school, I dropped them off in front of their school. "you guys take care, and wait for me after school" I said.

"Okay, bye Finn!" Abby and Jacob shouted and run to school. I drove off and went to my school, I parked the car at the school parking lot.

I locked the car and walked to school, I heard footsteps behind me and as I glanced to look a finger met on my left cheek, it was Anne "you gotta stop doing that" I said to her, "but you look cute when I do it" she chuckled. "no I'm not".

"I didn't know you had a car" she mumbled and walked beside me "it's my mom's car" I mumbled and saw Jason walked on my direction "Good morning Finn" he said.

"what's up weirdo?" I smirked "you didn't answer my question yesterday" I mumbled. "Yeah about that, I didn't know what I was talking about and blurted out silly things, I mean I kinda do that sometimes," he explained.

"whatever" I mumbled, "so, who's this cute girl?" he asked and smiled to Anne "Anne Davis, I'm Finn's friend and we're on the same club" Anne mumbled. "Jason, Finn's best friend" my eyes widened in shock from the words coming out of his mouth and I tilted my head to him and furrowed my brows. Jason reaches his right hand to Anne for a handshake and so did Anne.

"what the hell are you doing?" I said, he looked at me smiling and placed his arm around my shoulders "introducing myself to Anne, is there something wrong with that?" he said and I removed his arm around my shoulder.

"don't be rude to Jason, Finn, he's just being friendly, that's all." Anne mumbled and smiled at Jason, "yeah Finn" Jason winked at Anne and she was blushing. "he's not my friend"

"aww did you guys had a fight?" she mumbled. "no" Jason and I spoke at the same time and he laughed, "what's so funny" I furrowed my brows at him, "nothing" he said.

Brrrrrnnnnnnnngg! the bell rang, "see ya later guys" Anne waved her hands to Jason and me, "byee!" Jason mumbled and made a flying kiss gesture to Anne, I went to a different direction, "see you at lunch Finn!" he shouted and I just ignored him.

On my first class the teacher handed out books and distributed to everyone, "students, I want you to read this book and write a reaction essay, the deadline will be next week and those who fail to pass will fail this subject automatically, this is just a simple assignment and there's plenty of time to finish it before deadline, and those who pass it before deadline will have bonus grade. I don't want to repeat myself, so if anyone in here is late or absent, you may inform your classmates, understood?"

"yes Mrs. Adley" we all mumbled, "good, now I want you to write an essay about you and what you want to be and pass it before this class ends," she took a seat behind her desk and read a book.

I started writing and finished in 30 minutes, I stood up and handed my essay to Mrs. Adley. "those who are finished, you are free to go" I nodded and walked back to my seat and grabbed the book and hid it inside my bag, I left the classroom and there's still 15 minutes left before my next class starts.

I went to the lockers and opened my locker to store 2 books and took 1 out, I closed my locker after. "good morning, Finn" a silvery voice greeted me and I knew it was Red.

I turned around "good morning Red" a bright smile appeared on her beautiful face and I felt embarrassed looking at her, I immediately looked down to the floor. "you're audition yesterday was brilliant Finn, I knew you could do it" she complimented.

I never felt so awkward yet comfortable at the same time, God, what is happening to me? yesterday I was having an anxiety attack and when it happens, mom would just hug me and I would feel better after few minutes, and yesterday when she offered her hand for me to hold it, I didn't hesitate thinking that the warmth will make me feel better and I was right, and It was even better.

she leaned closer and cupped my face with her right hand, "are you okay?" she mumbled, my ears turned red, her touch soothes me like I have never felt this feeling like we are connected. I looked her in the eyes and it was the most beautiful blue eyes, "yeah, I'm good".

I we stared into each other's eyes and I held her right hand cupping my face using my left hand.

We we're engrossed to each other and I didn't realized that I was slowly leaning to her face and so did she, I could feel her breath on my skin, my heart was pounding and I bet she felt it when she placed her left hand on my chest. Our lips are an inch apart, she closed her eyes.

Brrrrrnnnnnnnngg! the bell rang, it completely startled me and pulled away, fvck! that was my moment of truth.

"I, I better go" I mumbled scratching the back of my neck, "wait, we have the same class let's walk there together" she smiled at me. "okay" I said.

she walked beside me and I could feel her hand swaying gently touching my hand. "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to...uhm" I mumbled, "it's ok, you don't have to be sorry" she said.

This is my chance, I think I should ask her out, "do you wanna..uhm" I mumbled slowly and embarrassed. she looked at me and I was turning red, I immediately looked down on the floor. "what is it?" she said.

Just fucking say it! she held my hand and looked into my eyes "I-uh...uhm, I guess that's a yes?" she chuckled and I felt embarrassed, "are you asking me out?" she said and I blushed, I nodded and a smile creeps in my face.

"so, friday?" she suggested the date "yeah, friday sounds great!" I mumbled and inhaled deeply, I realized I was holding my breath for a few seconds. We entered the room and sat next to each other without saying a word.

Ms. Caroline entered the class, "okay students, pair yourself into 2 and I want you to make a portrait of your partner," Red and I faced each other and started sketching.

An hour later we finished our work and showed it to each other, Sketching wasn't a problem, but making an eye contact with Red was nearly impossible. My portrait of her was elegant in black and white, but when she showed me her work I was even more embarrassed, it was all black and white, but she added a red shade on my cheeks, her smile was the most beautiful as she looked into my eyes.

After class I waved goodbye to Red and went to the library, it was lunch break and I didn't want to eat in the cafeteria, I sat on the spot where I was last time and grabbed the food in my bag that mom packed for me, "eating your lunch in the library again?" Sarah mumbled on the corner reading a book.

"It's too crowded in the cafeteria" I shared my reason, "I thought you were just...lonely" she mumbled sarcastically, "no, I'm not" I furrowed my brows. "so, who and where's your friend?"

My eyes widened and I couldn't thinks of someone as my friend, "Jason" I said "what's his last name?" she countered, "I don't know, I don't even remember your last name either and it doesn't matter," I mumbled and she smirked. "Maxwell" a husky voice interrupted me and Sarah, "hey, Finn my best friend, why are you eating here?" Jason mumbled jokingly.

"so, this is Jason? your best friend? really?" she mumbled sarcastically and I just sighed deeply. "yes I am, and you are?"

"Sarah Williams" she said and fake smiled. "what are you doing here?" I mumbled, "I was asking you that"

"I'm eating, can't you see?" I mumbled sarcastically. "this is the library, not the cafeteria" he said. "whatever" I said and he pointed to the sign 'strictly no food or drinks allowed' "how did you even find me, are you following me?"

"well I'm your best friend, so I would know where to find you" Jason mumbled and Sarah snickered. "come on, get up" he said and I listened thinking he might report me to the librarian.
