An Exception

Ye Heng paid for their meal before they left the restaurant together. He stretched his arm again and waited for Tang Shi Yi to reach for him.

He glanced at his wristwatch to check the time, wondering if he could ask Tang Shi Yi for a walk.

But then, Ye Heng swallowed his question when he recalled that Tang Shi Yi was always worried about her mother.

He guessed that Tang Shi Yi would not want to leave her mother alone. Ye Heng could still remember the panic in Tang Shi Yi's eyes when she woke up in his apartment a couple of nights ago.

The first thing that she remembered was to call her mother to explain why she did not come home.

Ye Heng helped Tang Shi Yi with the door. Then, he went around the car and slipped into the driver's seat. 

The engine roared and he drove away from the location.

Ye Heng glanced at Tang Shi Yi a few times and saw that she was looking out the window.
