chapter 13: Killing some monsters

I entered my room after collecting the package while my mother entered the kitchen to prepare some breakfast for the two of us. She was humming something while preparing breakfast.

" Magnificent",

It was the first thought that came into my brain after looking at the two pieces of equipment(knives) laying peacefully in the box.

The body of these two knives was pitch black with several indecipherable lines engraved into it.

They looked like runes but weren't as only those weapons from tier-1 and above would have runes for amplifying the strength if they were engraved by those Lords that had awakened runic attributes.

The another usage of runes in the weapons was to give certain attributes to the weapons by the lords increasing the value of such weapons by several times in the process.

So, only those Lords from powerful families would be brilliant enough to engrave the runes in the weapons below tier-3.

The ones I had were tier-0 weapons that had such markings to make them look impressive without any other purpose.

Although they were there for show, I was definitely happily looking at the runes( indecipherable lines) engraved in these two (kitchen) knives as they both were equipment I needed right now albeit the lowest quality.

[ Description: Weapon forged by tier-1 lord for some easy money. Does not contain any attributes but is sharp enough to cut through the defense of tier-0 monsters easily.]

Looking at the stats of the two pieces of equipment, I was excited as well as gratified at the same time as this equipment was the most powerful equipment any normal person could purchase.

Having such weapons at my stage would definitely help me in exploring the environment around me more efficiently.

It was also expensive and rare for normal families to purchase such equipment as only those families that had some connection with the families with lords within them or had contributed to the society were eligible to purchase such equipment due to the sky-high price of any goods related to lords.

And my family definitely wasn't connected to some lords, my father had utilized the contribution he had accumulated by working for more than twenty years as a clerk in the city administration office.

Thinking up to this point, the excitement I had after obtaining these knives slowly subsided and my eyes were filled with determination.

Hence, the first thing I did after checking the knives was to enter my lord's space.

[Description: Undead monster found within the Greyvile forest, one of the main darkholds and deadliest areas within the Azaroth Planet. It has low attack when alone but even high-tiered monsters get traumatized if in group.]

There were several monsters inside my territory with most of them being Nightmare hounds with strengths ranging from low to advanced but all were tier-0 monsters.

As for the one and only specimen of an undead monster, it was also tier 0 but an advanced one. Its body was made up of a dark grey skeleton with some tattered leather armor covering its bones and a rusty sword in its hand. Looking at the rusty sword in his hands, I wanted to kill the monster right there and steal(obtain) the sword but I couldn't.

" That definitely was a tier 1( Grey) sword at its peak." ALAS, I couldn't kill the monster in front of me right now.

So, I didn't dwell on the matter regarding skull warrior but looking at the nightmare hounds with their blissful expression did make me disgusted.

I directly asked two succubi to kill the nightmare hounds after providing them with the khukuri I had bought from the real world.

They took some time to admire the weapon in front of them with shiny eyes before starting to ruthlessly kill the monsters in front of them.

If I had to talk about the way they were killing those monsters.

" They were artisans with years of experience."

They looked like someone who had years of experience in killing as they were precisely aiming at the most vulnerable parts of the Hounds killing them at ease. Not even a drop of blood was spilled from the wound made by their ruthless strikes.

It was supposed to be a disturbing scene with blood and flesh everywhere but they were able to turn it into a work of art.

" Was it the effect of their skill House masters?" I pondered for some time before shaking my head.

Once they started killing the Nightmare Hounds and handling the skeleton soldier, My eyes were loaded with several messages from the system.

I was able to gain 175 SF points just by standing and ordering my maids to exterminate the trapped monsters within my territory.

" Hehe... This is the advantage of having powerful recruits". I was able to gain around double the amount of SF points my lord space could refine every day.

Looking at the SF point provided by the monsters I was jubilant as it was the main resource needed for upgrading my tier as well as recruiting new demons every day.

They even dismantled the skull soldier and hung its skull in front of my cottage. It would have looked domineering if my cottage was grand and well-maintained but whatever.

Lilith was adamant about hanging the monster's head into the cottage. Even the quiet Lily spoke regarding this matter.

" It looked cool with the glowing soul inside the socket of the skull though." Not gonna lie about that.

As for the head of Nightmare Hounds, They disappeared into nothingness once they were killed.

The only remains of the Nightmare Hound were the items dropped by them before disappearing.

[ Found 10 Nightmare leather(White), 2 Nightmare spine( white), and 3 pairs of Nightmare talons (white). Would you like to store it?]

[ Found Nighmare fang, dagger( Grey). Would you like to store it.]

These were also all collected by my territory before asking me permission for to store them.

" Store both meat and items but leave the dagger as it is."

[ Stored 10 kg of Tier-0 meat into the granary and 10 Nightmare leather(White), 2 Nightmare spine( white), and 3 pairs of Nightmare talons (white) into the warehouse.]

As for the dagger in front of me. I was going to keep it for myself.

[Description: formed by the combination of several fangs from the Tier-0 monster Nightmare Hounds. Has upgraded into a Tier-1 weapon while retaining the dark attribute in the process.]

[ Phantom slash: Can summon the phantom of peak tier-0 Nightmare hound to fight with the user. The phantom can fight until it is destroyed. Cooldown time 5 hrs.]

The stats of the dagger were pretty good for the first drop from low-tiered monsters. It actually had been upgraded to a tier-1(grey) weapon. It even had its attribute preserved in the form of several runes that had dark attributed flare swirling from these runes at certain intervals with a pretty powerful skill of its own excluding the Cooldown time of 5 hours.

"I definitely am the powerful lord amongst the lords that awakened yesterday from my school", I was satisfied with my power as a lord who had awakened only for a day. 

Of course, those scions from powerful families and prodigies were excluded.
