Chapter 3: The Beginning

A scene came to mind after seeing that name in the letter.

There is a garden, and three people are standing in front of the fountain.

Me as a child and the butler Jonathan, with black hair, black eyes, and a butler uniform, was composed and elegant, and Ela Heath, my mother, a beautiful middle-aged woman with green eyes and green hair, but with a pale body sitting in a wheel chair and coughing occasionally.

She looked into butler seriously,

"Jonathan, promise me you'll take care of him," my mother said to the butler.

Butler's face stiffened and he gripped his hand.

The butler knelt and said, "Madam, I will take care of him even if it costs my life."

That was the last time I saw my mother.

The seller approached me and asked, "Sir, is there any problem?"

I awoke from my dream and told him nothing.

I exited the store and went back to my room.

I have many memories of Butler saving my life, but I can't truly trust or suspect him because someone may be attempting to frame him.

I must know the truth.

My mother is the count's third wife; she is a baron's daughter, and my father fell in love with her and married her.

Nothing about her can be found in the family library.

The baron house she came from was destroyed, and all of her family was found dead from a strange disease. Surprisingly, after some years, my mother also died from a strange disease.

My mother has no power in the count family and no wealth, so there is a low chance of a conspiracy occurring.

My death and the poison may have also related to the demise of my family.

I must discover the truth.

I was going to Nerton town tomorrow.

Despite its low economic status, it is located on the outskirts of the kingdom.

I'm aware that my stepmother, the count's first wife, wishes for me to give up the count's throne.

So she pulled some strings and made me Lord of a town in the kingdom's outskirts.

She could have been involved in my poison attack as well.

As the sun rose above my head, it became noon, and I ate my lunch.

I cloaked myself and went to town without anyone noticing. I went to a dark valley near Potter Street.

I discovered a door with a red mark there.

When I knocked on the door, they opened it.

I noticed a middle-aged man with a beard staring at me.

This is the red mask. mercernary hideaway I accidentally discovered this hideout information in my brother's room one day.

The book contains detailed information.

They only open from 2pm to 3pm and change streets every day using a code that only a few people know.

I approached him, threw a pouch of gold coins at him, handed him a piece of paper with the name Jonathan on it, and asked them to make him faint during the journey.

I exited the room and went to my room as he nodded.

The night came as I was thinking what I should do next.

I ate my dinner and then went to bed.

Early morning,

I took a shower in the early morning while dressed in formal noble attire and holding a lord badge.

I glanced up at my mother's magical carriage.

This was a gift from the count to her. This carriage is both fast and large.

Normally, it takes two to three weeks to get to Nerton town, but with this carriage, it only takes a day.

The carriage uses magic to achieve super speed and it does not contain horses.

I entered the carriage, and my personal maid and butler sat across from me.

After some time had passed,] clouds began to form in the sky.

The carriage abruptly came to a halt.

We went outside to observe the scene where the driver was killed.

I assumed it was the work of red-masked mercenaries.

But I only sent them to seize the butler, beat him, and make him faint.

As I was thinking, the butler pushed me to the other side.

A sharp dagger pierced the carriage and passed through the area where I was standing.

I took a look at the people who were approaching us.

They are not wearing red masks, but rather fully clothed black clothes.

They are approaching me.

The butler and maid went ahead of me and stood up. The maid wielded a whip-like weapon.

The butler drew his sword and charged at them.

While they were fighting, an attacker approached me and attempted to slash a knife at me.

At that moment, a whip appeared and deflected the weapon, curling the attacker's body and pulling him towards her.

Before he pulled, he kicked me in the stomach.

A massive pain came to hurt me.

I wrapped my arms around my stomach and kneeled for a while. I felt better after some time I looked into the area before me it was completely destroyed.

I saw the maid and butler bodies with my last breath in them.

Thunder can be heard in the distance.

I approached the butler, "young master, I can't explain fully but the time has come, take the book in the box in the carriage it will give you directions," he patted me on the back of the head.

Then he closed his eyes and fell.

Throughout this entire process, I had completely transformed into a rock.

When I got close to him, tears streamed down my cheeks.

I cried for a while, not knowing whether it was because of old body memories or the death of someone who cared for me.

I buried them in the ground.

Rain poured down on me. I was completely soaked by the rain.

I had no time, so I took the driver's seat in the carriage and drove it to Nerton town.
