We all have something sinister inside us. Some take their demons and flaunt them to the world. Others hide them on the inside, and some believe they are pure, too pure to have a monster inside them. Yet those people are lying, whether it be to themselves or to the ones around them. The world is full of sinners, everywhere you go you'll find them. No one is pure... and no one is safe. Over two hundred fifty years ago, a rock fell from the heavens. Inside that rock was a creature of unknown origin all humanity knew, was that this creature would change the world as they knew it. From the everyday person emerged a new species of man, the Variant. The Variant was one capable of lifting cars and trains as if they were balls of yarn, or flying above the clouds with immense speed, even sending out waves of bright lighting. Variants changed the world forever and were still evolving it now in the present day. Out of the Eight billion on planet earth just about twelve percent of those are of Variant blood but compared to those only a select few shine above. Handsome, rich, and powerful. The three things any man would want to be. But what about when you are all three? Kaine Lenoir; a respected Variant, classmate, and international star. But with almost unlimited power in a world with finite restrictions what happens when that power goes unchecked? And then begins to spiral out of control? Hi! I'm Kalikk, and I'm the author of this story obviously lmao. I'm 17 (Subject to change), and ever since I was young, I've loved novels, light novels, anime and other nerd shit. So let me explain a few things about the story and myself.
First, this is NOT your typical "power-fantasy" novel. Although super power's are a integral part of the story it's much more of a psycho thriller. I've always been fascinated with mentally ill characters in fiction seeing as I'm diagnosed with a personality disorder myself. So with that let's get into some things.
"Is there harem?"
Nope, and if I do it will be for plot purposes. I've seen so many good books run themselves into the dirt because of a shitty harem.
"Is there romance?"
Yes, yet not in the traditional sense. Please continue reading as I believe it will be a fresh take.
"Is there r-18?"
To be honest, I don't know. If I do include it, I'll make sure to keep it separate from anything plot important, so those who aren't comfortable with it can skip through.
"Is Kaine evil?"
Without spoiling to much, in the beginning of the story evil wouldn't be the word I use. A bad person? Yes, Evil? Not yet. But as I continue to write and you continue to read yes yes yes and yes. In my notes/story board Kaine is genuinely a horrible entity.
"Is Kaine OP?"
Yes and no, once again without spoiling much, he is EXTREMLY powerful. Yet he holds back, and I don't mean in the boring way, like how some novels have beta ass MC's like "No I'm level 100000 but I cant let them know." Kaine is much more like "Hmm... I could blow up this continent but there's this ice cream shop I like so I wont."
"Is there a lot of plot armor?"
Hmm... Idk, in the first few arcs yeah probably. I kinda need the supporting cast to remain alive. But, but, as I am a fan of shows with little to know plot armor as I continue to write please understand... Many, many, and I mean many of your favorite characters will die. And I enjoy characters having both coming full circle and some characters dying abruptly. So after the first few arcs stay on your toes.
So with that I'll also include a bit more of things that probably wont be explained.
What are variants? Variants are simply altered humans, aka supers. The story takes place on the same Earth we live on (geographically) and for the most part history is just about the same. It takes place in the near future.
Lenoir, is the ultimate mosh pit of all the novels I've read, anime I've watched, ideas I've had, and dreams I've wanted to be real. With much inspiration coming from things such as Code Geass, Monster, Attack on Titan, Berserk, and even thing oregairu. So please, enjoy this and keep an open mind.
I have never believed myself to be the best author of all time, so I am extremely open to criticism, whether it be constructive or just hate. I look to improve and create a piece of fiction all can enjoy.
