A tale of a great man..

Who didn't know Garmond Ravenspare, he was a well known figure during his time and well past that.

A powerful influential figure in the whole Assyrian Empire, a charismatic figure, that ruled his kingdom with great love and care.

On the battlefield though, he was a ruthless warlord. Many perished by his blade, unaware of the cause of their death.

Unlike many, he wasn't blessed, he wasn't given the ability to use magic like the great Emperor Castan, but he was a revered figure, who could even match the emperor.

His Black-golden armor struck fear on any foe, he destroyed several towns and laid waste to many resilient people who went against the empires rule.

Thanks to him, the Assyrian Empire flourished, none wanted to face the sword of the great sword sovereign.

It couldn't be denied that he had no idea how to use a sword, but his monsterous strength made up for the loss.

The Ravenspare family was revered all through their time, Garmond standing out the most among the many that bore the name.

Of the four kingdoms in the Assyrian Empire, asides from the household of the Emperor himself, only the Ravenspare family could hold their lordship tittle.

This was due to the important roles they played in the empire, being the stronghold of the empire.

But on a faithful day, they were all cleared from the face of the earth. Their name never spoken of again.

Many couldn't remember the lost family, and the few who did, deemed it best not to mention of them.

----------

"Devine, I am Garmond Ravenspare. The 7th Lord of the Ravenspare family " Garmond said with a resolute voice, calm and steady.

He had no idea what her reaction would be, but at the end, it would definitely be unfair to leave the poor girl without letting her know.

"Gar...mond?" Devine's forehead creased with a frown, as she stuttered the words aloud.

Was it even possible? A figure who was supposedly meant to be dead, now in front of her?

She wanted to doubt him, take it as a joke or something, but the look Garmond had on his face, quickly made her think otherwise.

"You're Garmond?" She asked yet again, trying to digest the news.

Garmond nodded calmly, he could see the questioning gaze she threw at him.

Even he was yet to find answers to the questions she was about to ask, so how could he explain it all to her?

With a deep breath, Devine quickly calmed herself, her eyes darting round to be sure no one was watching them.

Aliya herself looked calm , just like Garmond had mentioned, she was already well aware, although she still had questions of her own.

"I can't explain much to you, I'm also trying to get around it as well, but there's a reason why I'm telling you this" Garmond continued, his eyes showing seriousness.

"Why tell me now? Why didn't you mention so back in the village? ...What were you doing in the forest? How did you become so small?" It was a tantrum of questions, she couldn't hide her bewilderment.

"Calm down young one, those are questions for another day."

'One second, and you want to get the whole history out of my mouth' Garmond thought.

At least now, with everything that had been happening recently, he was feeling more and more like his former self.

"Now, that aside, there's a reason, why I also wanted Aliya in on this conversation, and there's still one more person I need..." Garmond paused slightly, looking in Hendrix direction.

With a slight wave of his hands he motioned him to come over.

Hendrix had a blank look on his face as he looked at Garmond.

"Am hungry, and this bastard wants to show me that he's been attracting all the beautiful ladies? I swear he needs a punch" He muttered, as he walked in Garmond's direction.

"What's it pal?" He forced a weak smile. He was worn out as well.

In fact, everyone was worn out.

Imagine training a whole day, with no dinner.

Unlike the inspectors that had reached a level where they no longer had to really on food fully and could use mana to supplement, they were all still beginners.

Garmond was the only one who seemed not to be affected, by the raging hunger that was eating through them all.

"Can you have a sit I'd like to have a talk with you" Garmond said calmly, offering him a seat in the round table.

Hendrix ignored Garmond's gesture and with a well hidden perverted smile on his face, he quickly sat between Aliya and Devine, crossing his hands over their shoulders.

'Idiot' the first thought that came to Garmond's mind.

If only he could face slap, he would, but it definitely wasn't the time to.

"Get your hands off me" Aliya snared, shrugging off his hands.

With a grumble, he quietly removed his hands, while his left hands still remained on top Devine's shoulder.

He suddenly felt a chill run down his spine as a murderous aura erupted from Devine. Instinctively, he pulled his hands away with a wry smile.

'Even the calm girl from before is now all feisty'

"Alright, since you're all here now, I'll get right straight to the point." Taking a deep breath, he was finally prepared to say what he had in mind all through the time.

"I'm leaving the school grounds" A gasp escaped from their mouths as they all looked at him with shock.

They all knew the consequences for an attempted escape from the school grounds, and it was clearly spelt out on their first day!

What was Garmond thinking?!

The same thoughts ran through each of their mind, but they all waited patiently for him to continue.

"I will fill you up on details later" Garmond said, his eyes fixated on Hendrix, out of the three, he was the only one, who still had no idea about his real identity.

"Huh me?" Hendrix asked, looking at Garmond somewhat confused.

"No, it's not you, it's us" Aliya replied with a friendly smile that denoted sacarcsim.

"I have seen the situation outside, and things aren't getting any better. I figured I can't stay here and do nothing again. I have gotten the essential skills I need. And I believe I can handle myself from here on out." Garmond said briefly, cuffing his hands together as he placed them on the table drawing closer.

"You guys, are the only people I can trust currently, I don't know for the others. Unfortunately, Trevor isn't here with us. But I plan on leaving tonight. I will start little by little to bring this empire back to what it once was" He added.

With a sigh, Devine looked at him, her expression showing seriousness as well.

"Alright then, I guess I'll be joining you"

"Me too" Aliya said.

Hendrix looked to his sides, 'Two beauties, giving up themselves for him. I must say, you're lucky mate' he thought, looking at Garmond with eyes of admiration.

'I'll follow you on your perilous journey, so you can teach me your ways' he thought resolutely to himself.

"I'm coming too"

Garmond's face blanked as he looked at the three, 'Are kid these days becoming more adventurous or are they just stupid?' he thought inwardly.

"With someone more stupid like you around, I guess you've somehow infected them. What a waste." Ariana responded to his thoughts, her tongue as sharp as ever.

'...' Garmond opened his mouth to retort, but quickly remembered that the others were there as well.

Ignoring Ariana, he looked at the three with a grin expression. "I'm sorry, but you can't follow me, I can't afford putting you kids in trouble"

"Well, either way, I guess we're already in trouble, being here in the first place. I mean, who knows what they'll do to us after the whole training. They're definitely aware that many won't be willing to work for the Emperor, so I can only guess they have something cooking " Aliya said with a calm voice.

"Indeed, and I doubt you even have a valid plan to leave yet. There's a lot you don't know about this place " Devine added, her voice carrying a a hint of mischief, which quickly called all their attention to her.

"What do you mean?" Garmond was the first to ask, Aliya opened her mouth, but quickly shut them back..

"What I mean is that, the whole school is guarded by a barrier, attempting to leave will immediately alert the teachers. So you thought they'd make such a penalty if they had no means of finding out?"

Devine definitely made a lot of sense, Garmond didn't really think he's plan through. It was just a raw plan.

Come out when he was sure everyone was fast asleep, and then leave the school walls unnoticed.

After leaving the school earlier, he figured the walls were sloped, so it wasn't all the sides that were actually high!

But with the news from Devine, leaving the school unnoticed was going to be a very daunting task.
