--- Beast Tamer Arena ---
Just a few seconds after Jay went inside the arena...
A majestic and deep voice talked to Jay deep within his soul.
"Kid, why don't you start your chicken training now? Wouldn't it be nice clearing your class promotion and learning my awesome skills at the same time be nice?"
Jay almost tripped on a small rock when he heard this since. After managing to regain his balance, he tried to communicate with the Chicken Lord.
"Umm... So you're saying that I will fight and tame monsters while in my chicken form?"
Just as he was going to say something else, the image of a muscular man wearing a chicken suit appeared in his mind. The man had wings attached to his arms, has a red fleshy comb on his head that went downwards his spine, and a chicken head. He also found out that no matter how much he tried to release his thought and focus on the class promotion, he just cannot seem to leave this place in his mind.
Seeing the confusion in Jay's eyes, the muscular chicken man spoke in a deep voice.
"What are you doing boy? Didn't I tell you that I will now start teaching you my skills? What's with that look of yours?"
Jay stopped whatever he was thinking of the moment he heard the chicken man speak and asked, "You're the Chicken Lord?"
"I am indeed the Chicken Lord. Why don't we stop talking for now and get on to business?"
After that, Jay came back to his senses and saw himself standing in the middle of the beast tamer arena in his chicken form.
...
A few moments earlier...
The moment Jay stepped in the center part of the arena, thousands of random NPCs were summoned on the sides which served as some kind of audience. There were also a few students from the academy who were teleported here to watch the show. It can be easily identified if it was an NPC or someone from the academy based on their attire since those from the academy wore the usual white robes and had a golden moon emblem pinned on it.
"Hey, who do you think is the one attempting the beast arena today?" A guy with raid hair and had a crew cut asked his friend who was with him.
"Who else could it be? The only beast tamers who attempts this kind of stuff is Felix and Haoran. Or maybe its one of the freshmen." A chubby guy who was stuffing his face with beer replied to the red haired guy.
"Oi. Look over there. Is that the challenger?"
Unlike the random NPCs who had excited faces and anticipated whatever will happen, the students from the academy had shocked faces the moment they saw Jay. Its because Jay was currently in his chicken form.
...
While everyone was having their own thoughts on how Jay looked, a group of monsters were spawned in front of Jay. There were 8 of them. It was a group of Steelfeather Hawks.
A Steelfeather Hawk is one of the most common flying monsters in the game. They were usually hunted since almost everything on its body can be used. Its beak and steel-like feathers can be used for smithing, its eyes can be used in potion making, and the best part is its flesh, which is a luxury type of meat since only Chefs of the third tier or above can cook and process it.
The problem Jay was facing right now was that he was up against 8 of these monsters.
"This is a bit tiresome... I hope the class promotion does not have a time limit." Jay thought to himself as he knew that Steelfeather Hawks are troublesome to deal with in groups because of their hard defenses and high mobility.
Just as he was having trouble thinking what to do, the Chicken Lord spoke to him in his mind.
"Your name is Jay right? Go ahead and let me control your body. I will show you the basic combat techniques when in the complete chicken form."
Since he was already in this situation, Jay thought "why not?" so he decided to follow the Chicken Lord's instruction. Then after doing so, his body suddenly felt lighter and he suddenly heard someone on the sides shout.
"Welcome to the Beast Tamer class promotion trial. I will now tell you a few things before you start.
1. You must tame as many monsters as you can.
2. The trial will be over if you are in a near death situation.
3. You must only use your own skills and not use items like scrolls, summons, etc.
That is all. BEGIN!"
After that, the Steelfeather Hawks suddenly started to move. Four of them directly charged at Jay while the other four flew up into the skies.
"It's starting. Oi! WHY ARE YOU NOT MOVING MY BODY?" Jay shouted and panicked since he saw that the Chicken Lord was not making his legs move.
"Relax Jay. The first chicken combat skill I will teach you is called 'Avian Prediction'. It greatly increases your five senses, and if trained to a high level, it can allow you to see a few seconds in the future. Just watch and learn as I deal with this four."
Just after the Chicken Lord was done speaking, the four steelfeather hawks that charged in reached 2 meters in front of Jay and was about to attack. The moment they reached Jay, however, all of their attacks missed. May it be their beaks, their claws, or even the small gusts of wind from their wings, none of them hit Jay even though he was just standing on the same spot.
"Woah! Amazing! How the hell did he dodge all of that at blank range?" The students from the academy exclaimed as they saw it. Sadly, they did not even saw Jay move an inch. But the Elder who shouted earlier had a surprised look since he caught every single detail of what 'Jay' did.
"Impressive. To be able to move his body like that even in this transformed state of his. He even redirected the direction of the wind that made the small gusts from the hawks dissipate."
Having their own thoughts on the matter, they did not know that it was not Jay who was in control of his body, but rather the Chicken Lord.
"Did you see what I just did? Now, I will release my hold on your body and you must repeat the skill. Just remember to breath in before you do it. Also try making small predictions based on the way they move."
After saying that, the Chicken Lord let Jay control his body again.
"Crap! Only one demonstration!? Seriously?!" Jay almost wanted to curse loudly, but then he saw the four steelfeather hawks that were in flight swooping down at great speed and was about to attack him.
"Not good! How did that skill go again? Breath in..." Jay panicked and muttered to himself as he tried to imitate the actions of the Chicken Lord.
