From then on, the peace and stability had occured. This was hence, a gift from the gods. The tribe prospers, the Impirium family takes a step forward and becomes the ruler, as they were the head of the tribe. While the land has no infrastructures, the raw materials of the forest had aided the shortcomings. And as swift as the day could end, ten years of labor and hard work, the Impirium City boasts its grand and sophistication. The fame and power becomes blatant in a growing community, ranks and status becomes everything. The lavish city has no problems that they could impart with multiple parties, countless balls and of course, seeking for more power. Bitten.

Prologue It's nearly two a.m., too late for this foolishness and I need my sleep. Four nights spent cramming to meet a deadline have left me exhausted. It doesn't matter. Patches of skin behind my knees and elbows have been tingling and now begin to burn. My heart beats so fast I have to gulp air. I clench my eyes shut, willing the sensations to stop but they don't. Philip is sleeping beside me. He's another reason why I shouldn't leave, sneaking out in the middle of the night again and returning with a torrent of lame excuses. He's working late tomorrow. If I can just wait one more day. My temples begin to throb. The burning sensation in my skin spreads down my arms and legs. The rage forms a tight ball in my gut and threatens to explode. I've got to get out of here—I don't have a lot of time left. Philip doesn't stir when I slip from the bed. There's a pile of clothing tucked underneath my dresser so I won't risk the squeaks and groans of opening drawers and closets. I pick up my keys, clasping my fist around them so they don't jangle, ease open the door, and creep into the hallway. Everything's quiet. The lights seem dimmed, as if overpowered by the emptiness. When I push the elevator button, it creaks out a complaint at being disturbed at so ungodly an hour. The first floor and lobby are equally empty. People who can afford the rent this close to downtown Toronto are comfortably asleep by this time.

The Return Of The Shadow Games

Finding myself in another world was surprising. I thought those were mere fantasies from people with too much time. It doesn't seem to be the case now. At least I wasn't reincarnated in a world where death greets you every morning, but knowing how crazy Yu-Gi-Oh! can get despite being a card game, I cannot say I am that thrilled. And as if that weren't enough, I reincarnated as one of the worst villains in the franchise. Despite that, I am not in the original series, but in Arc-V. It is arguably the worst series out of all but I will get what I can get. "There he is! Capture that strange guy for the Professor!" Oh yeah. I am also being chased by those Academia guys. I wanted to live separated from all the chaos, maybe play one simple duel a day or two per week and nothing more. But of course, as the (What I assume) protagonist of a shitty fanfiction, trouble has to come knocking at my door just because I looked the wrong way. "Neither that bald man nor you seem to comprehend what a Shadow Game is. Please, allow me to demonstrate. I am sure your friends there would like some company." Yes, I have to act like a bad guy. After all, trouble seems to follow you the least when you are one...right...? I forgot to mention, now I have to collaborate with a grumpy god and a silent dragon to do who-knows-what. My life has become hell... ----------------- x ----------------- I own neither Yu-Gi-Oh nor the cover. I will write this in my spare time from my other novel, so don't expect fast releases. Don't ask questions regarding the plot. I am writing on the fly so even I don't know how it's going to turn out. Also, I will ignore requests such as "Please harem/no harem". ----------------- x ----------------- This will be something simple. I have never played the physical game, so there are rules I don't know and particularly don't care about, as well as things such as speed spells, chains, etc, etc. So if you are an avid fan of the TCG/OCG (Whichever your region is) if I make a mistake with the timing of a card activation or other similar errors, don't scream at my face xd. ----------------- x ----------------- Warning: Meant as a casual read, don't take it seriously.
