???'s POV~
.
My name is Rei Eijun, and I'm a thirteen-year-old normal middle schooler, or at least I was one until a few months back.
I can still remember that day vividly, the day it all changed. I was forcefully pulled out from my life and was dropped into this cruel world.
That day like always started normal. I woke up, brushed my teeth, and had my breakfast before heading to the school. Everything was perfect and normal till I got selected by the baseball team of our school.
The school's baseball team was famous throughout the country for winning the national the year prior.
It was quite an achievement, worth celebrating so we decided to eat out in one of those fancy restaurants.
I remember my dad driving the car with mom guiding him through the GPS.
I was lying in the backseat playing games on my phone. Everything was perfect till it was not.
I still don't knoe what happened but it seems like something heavy fell on our car. The roof of our car was dented inwards.
I was lucky I was lying down and wasn't hit, but my parents weren't lucky.
To this day I can clearly vocalise the sounds of their heads cracking and neck breaking from the pressure in my head.
I don't know if I can call myself lucky or unlucky that I was summoned at that exact moment.
At one glance I was thankful because I didn't have to see their cold and lifeless faces. On the other I was upset I wasn't able to bury them or come terms to with their death. I also wasn't grateful for getting dumped in this horrible world.
My situation wasn't good, I got summoned by some horrible people who wanted to summon otherworlder with strong skills for some reason.
I don't know what those reasons were, once they found I had a trash skills they sold me to slavery.
I was brink of despair when a kindhearted Nee-san came to rescue me- us. She freed all the slaves and even helped me register as an Adventurer.
She also lent us slaves some money which I used mine to buy equipment.
After Shizu Nee-san left to help other people, I started taking on missions, slowly improving my strength and skills.
Thankfully otherworlders also have above-average Magicule reserves making it easier for me to become stronger.
Everything after that fell into a rhythm, waking up, training and then completing the mission. It went like that for a month before I felt my progress slowed.
I asked some senior Adventurers. They told me I needed precious resources to increase my Magicule reserves or I needed to slowly grind.
I tried to follow their advice and train daily, increasing the number of my workouts but the results were minimal.
After continuing like that for another month I grew restless. I was too used to rapid progress so I decided to buy precious resources.
But for that, I needed money, and to earn money fast enough I needed to take higher rank missions.
While I was impatient, I wasn't stupid and months of struggle had also made me much more mature but… apparently not.
I chuckled mirthfully looking at the party of five encircling me.
To think I wasn't able to see through their true faces despite being with them for two weeks.
"Aghh!!!" I cried as the thief bastard stabbed my thigh with his dagger.
My days as slaves has given me some pain tolerance but it didn't prepare me for anything of this level.
"Why?" I asked through gritted teeth.
The bastard mockingly laughed hearing my question.
He shook his head befoe shooting me a sadistic smile. A sinking feeling emerged in my gut seeing that smile. No matter how many times I said that I should have died with them. The truth is I don't want to die.
"We wanted to sell you for some good money. We thought you had some powerful skills like other otherworlders when we heard you managed to be promoted to D Rank in just two months. But you were such a waste of time." The thief bastard said with gleeful expression.
"Then why are you killing me, if I'm not valuable just leave me."
"Are you dumb? Hahaha!!!" he laughed and twisted the blade.
"Aghh!!!"
The bastard laughed even louder at my misery. I knew he was sadistic guy from the way he butchered the monster but this… this is too much.
I looked away from his ugly face, looking at others, trying to beg for help. But their sneering face made me stop.
If I'm going to die, it's better to die with some dignity intact. I thought and closed my eyes in acceptance.
Just as I gave up on surviving I heard the winds roaring.
I opened my eyes to see a high schooler bitch slapping the bastard stabbing me.
My eyes shot wide as I saw the slap hurling the thief towards the tank of the party.
The handsome dark-haired dude looked at the arm he slapped the thief with. He squeezed it a few times before his blue eyes fell on me.
I gulped nervously as he tossed me something. Looking down I saw a bottle of healing potion.
"Chug it down kid." He said, his voice rugged and slightly masculine. I wanted to deny the expensive potion but then he gave a reassuring smile very similar to Shizu nee-san which made me comply to his request.
After seeing me drink the potion he turned around and looked at the party.
"Listen, we don't have to do this, just walk away and pretend it never happened," The handsome Aniki said, raising his arms in a placating manner. I can feel unwillingness coming out of his strong back.
The conscious members looked at each other before they burst into laughter. I couldn't help but clench my fist.
It seems the kind Aniki is not strong, unlike Shizu nee-san.
"I thought it was some high Ranker with a hero complex, but this is a coward and a stupid one at that." The bitch ranger sneered but Aniki ignored her as he looked at the party leader. I wanted to tell him to go away and don't worry about me. I didn't want him to get hurt but I couldn't. I… I was too scared of him truly leaving. I clenched my jaw at the cowardly thought.
Just as I was going to tell him to leave, Aniki started speaking.
"Please back away so that I don't have to necessarily hurt you guys," he said looking at the leader. His unwilling back straighten up, now realising an aura of confidence and strength.
"Haha! For a coward, your words are quite arrogant." The party leader laughed, His eyes, the only unarmoured part of his body squinting in mockery.
"Well, I warned," Aniki whispered barely hearable even to me. Then he suddenly disappeared and appeared before the leader. His right arm stretched out right before the helmet of the party leader. Aniki's middle finger was rolled back, held by his thumb.
I saw the leader's eyes widen, he tried to slash Aniki with his sword but before he could Aniki released his middle finger and flicked the leader's forehead.
*Boom!*
The leader was sent flying and only stopped when half of his body was embedded in the wall.
The other party members and I couldn't even react. We just stared at Aniki before slowly turning our heads to the leader's body.
The sight left us dumbfounded. The Tier-4 Knight was embedded in the wall, with his helmet sunken and eyes rolled over. His life and death were unknown.
"He's alive." I heard Aniki speak, answering our unasked questions with a reassuring tone.
"You guys still wanna go, or wanna back away now," He then turned towards the remaining members and asked, popping his knuckles.
The party members didn't even reply, they quickly started running away from him, carrying their knocked-out members on their shoulders.
"Thought so," Aniki commented before turning to me.
