Zusammenfassung

Reincarnation. A new beginning after the end. Of course, such a thing seemed like wishful thinking on her part, a hope for a better life. An isekai, even more so. However, after dying and being reborn as a strange, monstrous spider, Ma'kaol considers herself somewhat lucky despite her original purpose. She's free to do what she wants. Figuring out what she wants is the issue, and with outside forces trying to dictate the odd world around her, it'll be a challenge. But she'll find out, sooner or later. Regardless of the potential trauma. So, let's follow Ma'kaol and her (mis)adventures on Mirage.

A Simple Wanderer

A scar has been carved through the Earth, a jagged canyon extends from the distance. At its end, it's deepest section, waves of heat distort view betone recognition. The crater bleeds molten rock down it's sides, still hot from this landmark's creation. The shadowy visage of a humanoid figure becomes recognisable as it comes further from the pit of magma that is the deepest part of the site. It stumbles, and light shining on its front reveals what looks like a human. Blood streaks down from its closed eyes, drawing lines in the layer of soot coating it. The soot covers it's body, but the light pink of it's exposed muscle couldn't be fully hidden. The skin covering it's heels and back was missing, having been worn onto the rock it parted. There would also be a bit spread through the atmosphere from the entry, but most of what is missing was taken upon impact. "Oh f*ck that hurt like a b*tch. Not my best landing." the creature groaned as it ran it's hands over the wounds. It then reached up and grabbed the dirtied skin of it's skull, and tore it apart like a seam. It ripped it down around his torso, having to push it along his arms like removing a too-tight sock. At the hands, it had to pull the finger tips away like a glove before peeling the skin off completely. The legs and feet were dealt with similarly. Stepping out of its own skin, muscle clear to the air with the exception of what the rock coated in soot, it says "Whelp, new world, new me!" in a tone much lighter than the situation would call for. Hello there. I'm a native English speaker/writer, so I like to think I know what I'm doing with this stuff but really though, I don't. So please correct any of my grammatical, cultural, or progressional (plot) errors in the chapter comments. I'm writing this for fun and to prove that if authors actually think for more than half a second when developing their stories, it can actually be good. I won't be updating very often unless this is met with an abnormally good reception, but yeah. Hope you enjoy!

Alpha's Rebellious Mate

“Who are you? What are you doing here?” Alpha Rofus asked in a cold and serious tone, staring at the young woman in front of him. A young woman who caused his heart to race instantly. “Stay away from me! Please, I am scared of you!” She was sobbing already. “Calm down. I won’t hurt you,” he said before disappearing into the woods. “She is our mate...” his inner wolf whispered in his mind, something he was not expecting to happen. She? A mate? But she’s a human! Seeking solace from her mother’s hasty decision to remarry shortly after her father’s death, Amelia flees into the forbidden Forester Woods, unaware that her impulsive escape will lead to an encounter with Rofusio Melbore, the newly appointed Alpha of the Blazepaw Guardians pack. As Rofus gazes upon Amelia, an unfamiliar sensation surges within him, awakening his inner wolf. Overcome by an undeniable connection, he instinctively reaches out to comfort her, wiping away her tears. Startled and fearful, Amelia pushes him away, unable to comprehend the strange pull between them. Realizing that Amelia is his destined mate, Rofus is hesitant to disclose his true nature as a wolf since she is a human. Despite the obstacles and their initial fear, love blossoms between them. But will they overcome their insecurities and accept each other for who they really are? Will this fragile feeling last when they find out the truth about Amelia’s biological father? Or will Rofus lose his rebellious mate forever?

It's pretty good so far, has a very interesting start that makes you think 'huh, that was wild' and wonder where it goes from here. Spelling is consistent besides of a couple errors here and there as well as slightly awkward wording, but it's nowhere near as bad as some popular novels on here are. Gives Chrysalis vibes, but instead of a giant ant, it's a giant spider. Ma'kaol, our protagonist, doesn't seem quite weak nor strong either. It's hard to tell at this time, but she seems to be leaning toward the strong side considering her origins. She's playing it extremely safe and she's taking it slow. Maybe it's too slow for some people, but I'm glad she's not just rushing in like some other protags may tend to do. She's being realistic, even if her base knowledge isn't the greatest. (Also I am so glad that, despite being born a monster, she immediately doesn't convince herself that she needs to be a mass human murderer for no reason. 'If that person has attempted to murder me, well, fair play, self-defence is self-defence. ' Of course, this can change. But I hope she doesn't decide to suddenly wipe them out because of it.) The world seems very fantasy but also alien, the area we start in is given enough description that lets you use your imagination and while some monsters seem typical, some are flat-out bizarre, alien and gruesome (the vine monster and weird latex monster in particular). And very much like Chrysalis so far, some chapters seem to start off with pieces of lore about the world and some extra that I'm not sure of the purpose of yet. It's background world development that fleshes it out and I hope we get more of it. Going to give it 5 stars all around even if there's only a small amount of chapters, this seems interesting and the fact it doesn't appear to be getting that much traction at all is sad. Looking forward to more.

I know this is probs too early for review since there's only two chaps but possible spider waifu? Might be a kumoko clone in future chapters but I shall accept our new arachnid overlord regardless. spider girls have ruined me I do not care if they are full spider waifu or arachne waifu I have seen the light and it is arachnid waifu anyway 10/10, I am not biased.
