EXCERPT
Staring at him with wide eyes, "what the heck was that?"
He ran his hands through his hair, but before he could speak I held up my hand, "don't you dare tell me that that was adrenalin, adrenalin gives you strength and speed but not a tail and fangs" at that he looked up at me sharply, surprise clearly written on his face, then his mask was back on.
He took a step forward, I took one back, again and again we matched step for step until I backed against a tree and almost tripped over a root.
He steadied me, then asked "Do you really want to know?"
At the moment I wasn't really sure.
