Mae pov

It was the darkest and most eerie place I've ever been no light could be seen but I felt like I'd known the place. more or less like I've been here before.

In the darkness I could see trees like the ones from my dream the other day, there were also ruins of houses once built here taking further steps I also sighted statues they were not as frightened as the tress but instead looked ancient and divine like they possess some old sorcery power. cribbing plants were all over them but that didn't stop them from standing out the statues were just remarkable

They were a total of three and they were statues of women even though they all looked old the beauty they possess could not be denied whoever did this sculpture is one of a kind out of the three the one in the middle caught my interest the other two were standing at her sides while the middle one sat on a throne-like chair.

The way she sat speaks authority her hair was braided back and her dress covered her beautiful body down to her feet from her hair to her dress was colored white while the other two had black hair with white dresses as well.

"Wow," I thought these ladies have to be real angels. they were just magnificent but how I can see this much in the dark was still a mystery.

I have to figure out where I am and how to leave this place at first I thought I was dreaming again but here I am stroking the foot of the middle lady statue it was just too real.

I deduced that I might have successfully escaped Elliott hostage and ran from the house since I know for a fact he kept me in the middle of the forest .worst part of this whole thing was I tried remembering what happened between me and Elliot last but couldn't.

For the first time since I found myself here, I heard a sound other than my feet against the dried leaves. an owl, the owl kept on hooting like it was calling me but the fear kept me rooted where I was.

Again the owl hooted but this time he was resting on the middle lady's shoulder my heart skipped a bit to see an owl looking down at me. I have never seen this species before that had the body of a raven and the head of a regular owl. okay, this was becoming too much I have to be dreaming this has become too much for a reality the ice cream I had was a bad idea so a word of advice never takes ice cream before going to bed.

The hooting didn't stop nor did it leave so since it wasn't going to leave I decide to walk away I saw a cabin which was Still standing it was the only standing building I started walking that way but with each step, the owl cried out like it was choking after three steps and the owl kept hooting like it was going to die I raised my eyes to look at the owl it suddenly stopped so there was silence then I saw it turn his head following his action I also averted my eyes.

"Wow.....wow" I squealed excitedly.

It was surreal from where I stood I saw the most beautiful tree I have ever seen the tree was no ordinary tree in the thick darkness It shined bright like a lamb in a dark room, like a fúll moon in the midnight it stood out. I jogged and within a minute I was in front of it,

this exactly is what they call light in the darkness. A leaf fell and I rushed to catch it another fell and landed on the ground so did another and before I knew it the whole tree was empty the darkness returned

why does darkness have to always win in this wicked world I voiced out my eyes abruptly became moist,

it was like the tree never lived after the leaves fell off, the tree also dried up, and streams of tears flowed I wept bitterly because the sight was the worst it left a hollow in my heart. I looked around and in the whole darkness, the only light was the leaf I held in my hands so I held it tightly scared to let go.

I knew I was dreaming and even though I did not understand I hoped to wake up soon so I fell weakly to the ground as I mourned the tree, more, the one in my hand still shined, and looking at it brought a faint smile to my face.

"Wake, wake up honey" I heard as I snapped out of the dream, or should I say nightmare.

Elliot pov

I stood transfixed in front of my mansion, all forgotten memories rushed in. A faint smirk was on my face how much I ran from all of this and here I am again. How life works it displays the cards it only matters how we play our cards.

"My lord let me," Grace said rushing to me she was followed by another lady who I'd met.

When she saw how I hesitated she went on to introduce her but I cared less so I didn't even catch her name.

We don't have luggage just get something ready for her to eat I ordered taking sleeping Mae to the room we will both be sharing.

Placing her softly on the mattress I began to wonder if everything was alright its been up to an hour since she passed out. There is still so much to tell her about myself but how do I do that if she will possibly faint?

Now that I am in moonlake I can only contact Kace and Jedrek through a mind link something that only Lycans possess. So I stepped out to give them both instructions.

When I was done telling them what to do I found out through Jedrek that Eric was now in Essos, I wonder which of his enemies is there. Everything was going just like I planned if I play my cards right I will be able to kill two birds with one stone.

Kace reminded me of Josephs's daughter's name day and after the mind link, I returned to the room to only find Mae crying tears were seriously coming from her eyes but she was still sleeping so I figured she has to be having a nightmare again.

So I tried waking her up and with a loud cry she snapped out of the dream .using my palms I wiped the tears."sushhhhh... it's over darling"

"It ....was s...o sad... "she stuttered in between tears

"Come on," I said opening my hands and she wrapped herself around me holding her tight I began to reassure her.

"Everything is okay I'm not going to let anything harm you..okay."

I said with so much determination

"Why"... she asked looking at me with those beautiful green orbs of hers

"Because I love you, honey," I said tucking a strand of her hair.

With a broad smile, I added, " also because I can't live without you..."

She looked at me as I spoke and later averted her gaze shyly.

"I am hungry," she said playing with her fingers I was happy to see her like this. This is the mae I know.

As she kept her gaze shyly on her lap and still played with her fingers I kissed her left cheek and I smiled, even more, when I saw her blush

A knock was heard and it made her cringe she suddenly looked scared.

"Don't worry it's just your food"

I already mind-linked grace immediately after she woke up.

So I got up collected the tray and ordered that everyone leave the mansion.

A delightful look was on her face when she saw the food. I had Grace make a little of everything I still don't know much about her.
