Journey through a magical world

Tik...tok...tik...tok

Alex awoke in a strange place. He attempted to stand up, but his body was weak. A pain in his head then appeared suddenly. He wanted to cry, but he was unable to. Everything made sense to him after the unpleasant experience. Instead of the world, he remembers, he was in a different one. He has the strangest feeling that he has always existed in this world. He found it to need clarification.

"Alex, come downstairs for breakfast."

Alex jumped to his feet, opened the door, and began to head downstairs. It was like the pain was never there. It felt very natural to him. In this world, he had a family, unlike the previous one, where he was an orphan.

The name of his mother is Maria Ferrace. She is a kind woman who loves her children very much. Then there is Jake Creed, his father. Even though he has a stern exterior, he is a softie inside for his kids.

Alex also has a sister who is just a year younger than him. She enjoyed getting into mischief a lot, according to Alex's memory. Her name is Alice Creed.

When he came downstairs, he was greeted by the smell of cooked food. The twist was that the cooking utensils and the vegetables were moving by themselves. Hell, even the broom was cleaning the floor by itself. Then it suddenly hit him: "This world has freaking magic."

Alex took several minutes to recall what he already knew. It was like this: There are several races in this world of Greveria. Elves, dwarfs, giants, beastkin, fairies, merfolk, giants, and many more. Despite minor racial discrimination, overall conditions are generally peaceful.

Nevertheless, it was initially different. Every day was filled with war and fights. Many lives were lost, and no party was spared from the grief. This all changed with the reign of our queen, Astoria.

She is the most influential and powerful person among all races. She stopped the war and brought peace. She is also the founder of the University of Magic, which is the largest institution where every race can mingle with each other and pave a future for themselves.

When individuals of any race reach 16 years old, they get something akin to a force. They have their own conscience and select the individual they are most compatible. The powers gained vary from mortal things like super strength to supernatural powers like control over elements to godly powers.

If you have a strong soul and good luck, you can attract powerful forces to bind with you. You can even talk with the forces when you deepen your understanding of them; you can even call it a system, as in my previous novels.

Back to the Present;

When Alex reached the dinner table, he was greeted by his new family. Maria wore a black skirt and blouse with a thin silver lining, as did his sister, while his dad wore simple trousers and a plain white shirt.

Maria: "Good Morning Alex. What's with your sad face? Come here and sit down."

Alex: "I'm just a bit tired, mom. No big deal."

Alice: "Doesn't he always look like that? hehe"

Jake: "Don't make fun of your brother Alice. That's not nice, is it ?"

Alice: "I'm sorry, dad."

Alex then proceeded to sit down and eat his breakfast. After he took the first bite, he started eating like there was no tomorrow, leaving his parents and sister with open mouths. Only after eating did Alex realize that all of them were looking at him, which embarrassed him.

Alex: "*cough* I was hungry."

Alice: "You don't have to tell us, duh" She sneered.

Alex, we need to talk. Maria and Jake both spoke simultaneously. The atmosphere became serious, so Alex asked them, "About what, mom and dad?" Before his dad could, Maria took the lead and started explaining.

"Now that you are 16, you are at the age of awakening the force. So mom and dad wanted to tell you you don't have to be under any pressure, okay? We are all happy as we are. Just do your best and believe in yourself."

My eyes started tearing up as I hugged them and the unwilling brat, who is none other than... you guessed it, my sister. After sharing a family moment, my mother said that we would be attending the awakening ceremony at the University of Magic and that we would be departing the day after tomorrow.

Alice put out her tongue like she was taunting me and ran away after the hug. A tsundere sister, indeed.

Then Alex told his parents and went for a walk around the town. He felt like he was walking through a medieval fantasy game during his walk. He saw humans primarily, but there were some other races as well. It might be because most of the humans live in the central area of the continent, Alex thought.

He noticed that most of the people looked younger. He attributed this to the presence of force in each of them. He also learned that he could extend his lifespan as he meditated and connected more deeply with their power. As for how much deeper you can go, No one knows.

As a dream of every cultured man, he saw some elves and some beastkin. Elves have a natural beauty, while female beastkin has a wild beauty. He had to try harder to control himself.

During his walk, he enjoyed a variety of foods. He bought some ornaments for his sister and mother as souvenirs because he might have to attend the academy.

He returned home in the evening, ate dinner with his family, and went to sleep, reminiscing about what he had experienced throughout the day. Then he spent the next day enjoying time with his family and finally got to the day of the departure.

He woke up early and started packing his things. After that, he brought his luggage to the living room to see his family waiting for him.

"Let's go, Alex. We are late," Jack said while waving at Alex.

Then they all got into a big public carriage and started their journey to the city of "Centora."
