Self Insert Reincarnation into the world of Douluo Dalu 1 with the Hundred-Fold Training System. Will he ascend to God King? Or will he fail, and become nothing more than a Legend?
Outside of Holy Saint Village, Mountain Path
On a boulder next to a trodden path leading up a mountain, a young black haired boy with tanned skin can be seen napping without a care in the world. Eventually though, the boy wakes up and can be seen languidly stretching before sitting up and blearily observing, yet not truly comprehending, his surroundings with bleary brown colored eyes.
??? POV
I blearily observed my surroundings and sighed in resignation.
"It has been 6 years since I died and was reincarnated in this world, yet every day I keep hoping this is all but a fever dream. Sigh, I guess its time I accepted reality and start preparing for the future."
Before coming to this world, I was just your normal guy back on Earth, albeit a severely obese one. Earth had no magic nor supernatural powers, no all powerful immortals nor apocolpytic monsters, You know, normal. But the same can't be said about this world.
It took a little while, but being the grandson of 'Old Man Jack' and living in the same village as Tang San makes it impossible for me to not realize which world I am in. Douluo Dalu, more specifically, at the beginning of the 1st season, shortly before Tang San underwent the Spirit Awakening Ritual.
Now, even while foolishly hoping that this was all a fever dream, I still knew deep down that this wasn't one. That's why, ever since I was a baby, i have desperately tried sensing Spirit Energy so as to gain even the slightiest bit of power. Both to protect myself and to keep me from going crazy.
Naturally, cultivation wasn't the only thing I did with my time. In the morning, I worked for the village Baker, warming up the oven, creating the bread dough, and cleaning up the place. This was how I earned my money for food and other necessities despite being an orphan in this life.
Afterwards, however, I would then spend the next several hours meditating and trying to cultivate before spending the rest of my day out in the nearby mountain, either training, foraging, or hunting. It was tough, especially so at the beginning, but I adapted and eventually grew to enjoy the routine.
As I jumped off the boulder, a boy with blue hair and pale skin wearing worn, but clean clothes had appeared down the road, heading towads Holy Saint Village while carrying firewood behind him. I lazily looked at the boy before greeting him just as lazily.
"San, hardworking as usual. See anything interesting during your time in the mountain today?" I asked.
This was a common occurance between us, since while we weren't close like brothers, I made sure to at least be friendly with him and occasionally helped him out with some food or money. Of course, with his pride he wouldn't just accept it for free, at least not at first, but it was worth it.
Tang San gave a slight smile and nodded in greeting before responding.
"Unfortunately, no. Just the usual, although the view from the mountain top is still spectacular. You should go there sometime and just watch the sunrise Zhou Boqin. It's quite beautiful."
Just as expected, I shook my head in exasperation and minor disappointment upon hearing his response.
"Really San, we have known each other for years at this point. Why do you still insist on calling me by my full name instead of just my given name? I have long given you permission to do so, like you did with me. You know it annoys me."
Tang San just gave a small smirk before continuing on his way home.
"Precisely. Have a good afternoon Boqin, I will see you tomorrow."
With that said, I watched as Tang San walked away with slight annoyance but I couldn't keep the slight smirk of amusement off my face either.
"Well if nothing else, this life promises to be an eventful one, thankfully I am not without the vaunted 'Golden Finger' all main characters transmigrated into Chinese cultivation worlds want. It's honestly the only reason for me not breaking down and could make it to where i am today."
[Ding! 1 Point of Energy Cultivated! Hundred-Fold Training System Improves Reward!]
[Ding! 100 Points of Energy Cultivate!]
[Ding! Cultivation Rank improved by 1 Rank!]
[Ding! Congratulations to Host for achieving Rank 10 Spirit Scholar!]
[Ding! Would Host like to sacrifice the accumulated Cultivation to enhance the Divine Rank Silver Skin Martial Soul to the Transcendent Rank Platinum Skin Martial Soul?]
This, this was the reason I never gave up hope, and why I continue to train beyond my breaking point every single day since i was 3 years old. One of the features of this System is to 'Refine' everything about me, from Talent to Potential and even my Body and Martial Soul.
"Yes!" I eagerly with maybe a little too much excitement, as I saw Tang San pause in his steps for a split second before he continued walking. But I couldn't care less what he thought about me at this moment.
My Martial Soul used to be Silver Skin, like the Buso Renkin worn by Captain Bravo, which made me virtually indestructible and immune to most things, even allowing one to breath underwater and in space. This alone made it one of the most broken of Top Tier Martial Souls since its only 'flaw' was that it didn't improve one's strength and speed, nor gave any option to attack the enemy.
But with Platinum Skin--
[Ding! Refinement Successful! Silver Skin has evolved into Platinum Skin!]
[Platinum Skin: Makes the User completely invulnerable and immune to everything while worn. Even lets the User survive in all environments such as the vacuum of space or in the middle of the Sun. It also improves the User's Strength, Speed, and Reflexes by 100% and increases by another 100% for every Spirit Ring added on.]
I will be INVINCIBLE!!
