Imposter System

(Volume 1 Complete!) What's worse than waking up in an unfamiliar place in an unfamiliar time? Perhaps it's realizing that you are no longer human? Or that you must keep your identity secret or you will be eliminated? Perhaps even worse, you will be captured and studied-- or tortured. Matt O'Connely, or rather, the parasite that controls him, comes from modern day. After a night of gaming, he found himself in a world very similar to the game. But this was real, not a game!

"Key card… ha. Ha-ha…" the captain began to laugh maniacally. Matt worried that [Waking Dream] had broken his mind. However, soon, the captain looked up with clear eyes. He could tell that the captain's mental state was actually stabilizing. "You aren't Willard. Well played, Doctor O'Connely. It seems that I have underestimated you again and again."

Once he realized his ruse was up, Matt released [Waking Dream] since it was already beginning to be too costly to maintain. The illusion dropped and the mass hysteria going on at the table ended. Once the illusion cleared up, the captain was able to see Matt's face clearly. Matt attempted to control him with hypnosis but discovered that it was still ineffective.

"Quit playing around, give me the key card and we both walk away as if nothing happened." Matt put his hand down and folded his arms. He didn't need to pretend anymore, and the finger-gun thing made him ashamed. He already had a blast prepared for the captain.
