Heated game

Vikram returned home after the meeting with Payal. He rejected the compensation, citing that the promised value is different from what they are delivering. He did not go with Payal's suggestion of directly rejecting it, instead, he put it in the military court. 

After all, unlike Payal's guess, his first aim is not to secure the land. His aim was to create a precedent where a soldier's life costs an astronomical amount. The army is going to be powerful in such a situation. It will create a world where a dictator could treat every other life as expendable. 

Vikram knew he himself does not have that sort of likability, more importantly, he does not want to be a public figure of that sort. He wants to be an invisible rich man. Or an outright rich man, but … powerful governments would not like rich men. So, what is the solution? Simple. Either there are a bunch of rich men, or the government is never stable or strong enough to persecute the richmen.
