The Forest and Its Folklore

I got up in the morning and decided to cook some breakfast before I have to leave. This is my way of apologizing to Maddie about my exploration. I didn't want to leave her all upset. I decided on bacon, eggs, and toast. Something that is nice and simple, and the way she likes it. After I got the food done, I went to wake her up. When she saw me, she was shocked, as I would usually be gone by now. I don't like being stuck behind traffic, so I would usually go very early, but I didn't want to leave her just yet. I felt like I've upset her last night and wanted to make up first then go. We finally finished eating, and I got dressed. I triple made sure everything was packed, before going to bed, so I can just get on the road.

I was finally on the road. I love road trips, as they can be relaxing. Whenever I go on one, I feel so free from responsibilities. I guess this is why, I feel recharged already.

It's been 47 minutes, and I decided to stop at Newport, Tennessee to gas up and refill my drinks and snacks. This also gives me a chance to stretch my legs. After a couple minutes, I was back on the road, planning to stop in Ashville, North Carolina.

I've traveled 1 hour and 18 minutes, since my last stop in Newport, Tennessee. I've finally arrived in Ashville and it's such a beautiful city. I also had to go to the bathroom, so I stopped at a rest area. I also wanted to talk to some people and ask them about the creature that would be in the forest. I walked up to someone who seems to be some sort of ranger.

"Hey, I just came from Knoxville, Tennessee and I wanted to go camping in Pisgah National Forest, but I also wanted to know about the creature that is said to be in there," I ask him. He looked at me and nodded his head.

"Of course, well we call it the HideBehind. It likes to hide behind trees and stalk humans. So, please be careful," he told me. I was a little disheartened at the lack of more information about the creature, but I know they don't really exist. So, I just got back into my car, and drove off. My next stop would be Old Fort, North Carolina, and it would be my last stop before I get to the forest.

After 28 minutes I made it to Old Fort, and I stopped for a quick late lunch. My legs are hurting for being in the car for so long, but I'm almost to my destination. Judging my calculations, I should be at my destination in about twenty minutes from it.

After twenty minutes, I finally made to where we have to park our cars and walk the rest of the way. I walked on the trail, to find a good place to set up camp. I decided to go ahead and video tape my journey to where I find a good place. It wasn't until twenty minutes into my hike, that I felt like I was being watched. Though, I just wrote it down as an animal showing a little bit of interest in me. Another twenty minutes, I finally found the perfect place to set up camp. I also made sure to surround my camp with mothball, for I read that it'll keep wildlife away. I put my firearms where I'll be able to reach. I also decided to go ahead and make a fire to eat and read before going to bed. Tomorrow is going to be a whole day of exploration, and to see if the HideBehind is real.
