How to Get Caught Pooping

"I-I really can't hold it in anymore. It's been 7 days." "If I go down to poop, no one will know, right?" "Who's there?!" ------- As a slice-of-life novel with a variety of characters, this heartwarming, comedic story is a great gateway for daily healthy doses of serotonin, a great way to pass the time. Meet many main characters that are animals that live their daily lives with a little extra spice put in (my evil author plot). This story is inspired by a nonprofit organization to protect and save wildlife in the rainforest. Any form of support is much appreciated and cherished! If you would like to, check out the nonprofit site: https://www.friendsoftherainforest.org *This is somewhat a slow-burn and has many small plots. This is lighthearted! Prepared to have frequent updates.

Extroverts are Annoying!

Sal's POV

"How was your day today?" Sal asked bubbly.

Everytime the sun falls and the indigo and black take over the sky, that's when a little sloth waits patiently, clinging on the tree trunk, waiting for a tiny, vibrant frog to leap over to him.

Since Sal can't always climb for long distances, Rosa decided to make her way to him.

High in the trees yet not quite high enough to see the full night sky, the canopy level gave enough moonlight to shine in and also enough shadows, a perfect place to talk at.

"It's the same as usual. A little hectic at times, but mostly peaceful. The days seem to repeat itself, but there is always some little change here and there," Rosa replied.

"Hectic?"

"Yes, sadly so. My family is quite large compared to other families. Typically, we red-eyed tree frogs group up from 2 to 5 frogs, but our family has 18 frogs."

"18!?" Sal exclaimed, his jaw unhinged.

"Humh, yes, 18," Rosa gave a little chuckle.

"Wow. For us sloths, we typically live alone. I can't even imagine 17 other me's all on this tree!"

"Even back at home, I'm surprised by how many family members there are."

"Is it hard to remember all of them? Do you just forget to keep track?"

"No, I can remember them. I don't really talk to them that often, so if I do forget their name, I can patiently wait for another frog to call out their name."

"That's so smart!" Sal complimented, admiring Rosa's tactics.

"You are too kind, Sal. I simply pick up some tricks here and there when you live with 17 other rambunctious frogs. We are social animals."

"Is that so? Hey, Rosa, can you tell me about them?"

"My family?"

"Yeah, like, how's your sibling?"

"Well, the first frog that pops into my mind is…Rony."

Rosa's face darken. Her lime face pickled into olive shade.

"He, is, well- For a lack of a better term, empty."

"Empty?" Sal cocked his head in confusion.

"Empty as in, empty in the head," Rosa said in a matter-of-fact tone, "I truly will never know what is going on inside his head."

"He spaces off like he ate something bad. Frankly, he probably did since he always has a swarm of friends around, who knows what they do together."

"Rony and I also do not have any similar interests. I wanted to explore this rainforest, to learn more about this world we live in. In comparison, Rony wants to play and party. If it is not napping lazily, then it is hollering late at night with his friends."

"He also insists I go and party with him despite the fact I decline every single time."

"I do not like the crowd, it makes me feel vulnerable. I don't like parties even more, I could be doing something more interesting instead."

"Rony simply gets on my nerves!"

With the steam getting out of her system, Rosa's little rant made her thin lips morph into a little frown. Her cheeks puffed up, her arms crossed over her white underbelly.

"I don't think you hate Rony though!" Sal said, comforting her cautiously. Her frown stirred his emotions into a mess.

-Why is this conversation going haywire!-

-I just wanted to keep the conversation going, not trying to ruin the mood!-

-Ugh, Sal, why can't you get one thing right!!!-

-No, you got this Sal. C'mon, don't push yourself down.-

-Actually…-

With his eyes glancing back and forth, Sal decided to open his mouth.

"Rosa, I've never seen you so worked up. You always are so calm and reasonable, I've never seen you pout."

"Yet you talked a lot about him in so much detail."

"It's quite weird to see you like this!"

"I feel like you don't hate him as much as you say you do!"

"No, I strongly dislike Rony!"

Rosa peeked back, yet her frown struggled to keep its form. Her cheeks deflated and she uncrossed her arms, neatly nestling down. The anger flaring inside of her seemed to be doused out, but she was still fuming.

Sal witnessed her change in attitude.

-Rosa, you're so funny!-

Sal's shoulders shook up and down as he chuckled.

"What's so funny?" Rosa questioned. She felt an unknown emotion bubbling inside of her.

"You're, you're-"

Sal's chuckles turned into laughs, bellowing out. He started to gasp for air in between the short-lived pauses between every wheeze.

"You're, you're-" Sal continued, struggling at every word, "You're…just so-, HA!"

"What!" Rosa said.

"Your face- you're so embarrassed! You're so embarrassed, that, that- you're whole face is purplish-brown!"

Rosa's face, normally a lime green, now is slightly tinted a purplish-brown around her cheeks, causing her to look both beat up and sleep deprived at the same time.

"You-" Rosa sputtered, realizing how abnormal she seemed, "I never like this, why am I so-"

Sal croaked, suffocating in his laughs.

Rosa balled up her little orange toes and gave Sal a little punch, though of course, caused no harm. She was merely giving a warning, a little fit, but her failed attempt made Sal laugh even harder.

Even so, with her face even more purplish-brown and throwing out a couple more punches, in the corner of Rosa's face, there hid a tiny smile.

Rony= extrovert, Rosa=introvert, what a pair of siblings! -Sofa
